I guess we already know this, but this puts the nail in the coffin of a female protagonist?
Nice trailer with a lot of style. I really like the heist feeling. The entire vibe of having a group of thieves, planning heists in a big city, is just something I really like. A bit weird that they have a cat with them though. Graphics aren't particularly impressive, but the style makes it okay.
I just noticed the cat used a scimitar in one set of fights, but in that Pyro Jack fight image I put up he has a SLINGSHOT?

I hope the dungeons are still random, but that's the one thing I couldn't quite tell from the footage.
With the platforming traversal and the unique staircase room, I am wondering if maybe the dungeons are more hand designed now. Did any of the new info translated by Shouta/duckroll tell us about that?
That's for persona 5 (whatever it's called for the rereleaseI guess we already know this, but this puts the nail in the coffin of a female protagonist?

Its already confirmed 2015 for NA and JP
Bothbtw is it coming to the PS3 and PS4? or just one of them?
My guess would be that you can switch weapons during battle like in Dragon Quest VIII.
Wow, I would have never noticed that when its the characters turn, it changes its portrait like they are holding their prisoner plate. So cool.
I think its his "long-ranged weapon".
I think it's more so that you can use your weapon or gun for an attack like in the older games
I think the graphic quality is lower than Catherine. There is a lot of aliasing in the graphic.
Just watched the trailer. That was the worst trailer I've seen in a long time. It looked stupid as hell.

Kind of hope they have some kind of Dojima reference or cameo, since the characters will likely be on the wrong side of the law.
So this may be my first ever Persona game...how much of my life will I invest in this game?
There won't be another Sony handheld for them to port the game to in order to make a Platinum edition! That's for persona 5 (whatever it's called for the rerelease)
No, you!!!!!!!Oh you~ lol
There are actually 9 words, the 7 sins plus cavum and irritum, also if you look at this:

you see that the cat is everywhere. There are bars for every word. Maybe there are nine different types of persona? Nine Social links? Also the cats are in different positions in some of these.Clearly overthinking, lol
They aren't faceless, they just don't have eyes, also if you look at the menu with the main character you can see the words "Don't look at me like that", clearly the word that the main protagonist represent is "irritum".Not too sure about what "cavum" means
Really

That trailer was ridiculous. I'm very impressed. I just hope P5 is able to stand up to the rest of the SMT series gameplay-wise, unlike 3&4.
Hot damn were those menu screens hype, so stylish!
Made some quick gifs

MC - Knife/Handgun
Dude - Pipe/Shotgun
Cat - Sword/Slingshot
Chick - Whip/SMG
The range weapon for the girl is not shown in the trailer.
Edit: But it's in the Famitsu article screenshot!
I know but I would really, really like it not to be haha.Persona has always been SMT on training wheels.
Consider me hyped! What's up with that cover mechanic though? Is there gonna be stealth in the game?

... in SMT IV (And the older Persona games that nobody, even Atlus, remember) you have Melee weapons and Guns, the Guns are mostly used to inflict status ailments or attack weak spots while the Melee weapons are for regular attacks...My guess would be that you can switch weapons during battle like in Dragon Quest VIII.
They haven't really said anything about the gameplay at all. Maybe there'll be more in the full Famitsu interview, but everything else is just as it is in the trailer. My guess is that it's possible story dungeons are no longer randomized, similar to how stages in Catherine were actually designed, but that they will have a randomized mega-dungeon of sorts which is optional. This is not based on anything I have seen or read, just a guess.
Melee/Gun attack options like in SMT4, Strange Journey and P1
