I am legit surprised that you haven't played this yet.

Heh I hear this a lot. I am not a huge RPG gamer and would be more interested in the social links and school/daily life stuff. I don't know a lot about the battle system so I think it kinda intimidates me to start.

Sorry don't mean to derail the hype train guys and gals!

There are plenty of reasons to dislike Gies but this is some of the pettiest shit I've ever seen. Get over yourselves. Besides there's no way he's reviewing it when Phil Kollar (a Persona fan) is there, calm down.

Anyways excuse me while I run around my house screaming because this game looks so good I can't even handle it.

I wonder if the return of the having both melee and guns means the return to the more traditional SMT leveling experience, i.e. having Strength AND Dex.

I also wanted to say that I appreciate Atlus sticking to their own thing. They're basically doing what they want to while the rest of the game world tries to do too much of the same.

When the intro is doing their stylish cuts, looks like they're ice skating. At least the blonde girl is imitating it. Probably just to look stylish.

That's such a great intro.

I'd also like to say this series is one where I actively get hyped for the soundtrack.

We've babied babies and we reached out to the truth. I wonder what's in store for P5.

And if we get more Persona themed dancing and fighting games out of it, well so be it!

Hmm who could it be? Kotaku doesn't know.

This was the worst way to start off my morning because the trailer was so good that literally nothing else that happens today could even match my happiness. Goddamn I'm excited for this!

The intro is the best part of the trailer. I really want to see the full version of it.

I made a thread several months ago asking what direction people wanted Meguro to go for the soundtrack. If the trailer theme is any indication, he's going to fucking blow my expectations out of the water.

Was looking through my Twitter feed, I fully agree here. Looks like a big improvement and makes it feel much more alive.

Yup. The game is going to be so visually rich. It's funny that it might push JRPGs into a more cinematic direction. Like actually cinematic, as opposed to 'cinematic' games which tend to be pretty bland if you're actually looking at the way shots are composed.

Hopefully Sony doesn't cheap out on the inevitable LE console. Give it the DQ Heroes treatment instead of taking a black or white PS4 and slapping a logo on the harddrive.

Yes. Thank you. They stick with what works and find ways to keep on getting better. This game will be masterful.

On that note, I still think Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter (2002) has the best cinematography in its cutscenes of any RPG.

Sure they milked Persona 4 to death but I'm glad P5 isn't trying to be an open world RPG with Uncharted.

This. It's so funny: I love open world games, but the trend to make everything open world is ridiculous. It was refreshing to see a trailer this year NOT tout how big the world is. In fact, it looked just as static and "sectioned off" as the previous games. Heck, we didn't even really see the MC walking through the daytime world in a way that looked like the player was controlling him. Even the shot of him in the subway station looked more like a set scene than a playable moment.

I'm sure there will be walking around, but my point is that P3/4 both felt like some of the largest and deepest games I had ever played despite the world itself being limited. That the team is doing their own thing while also making it different than their previous outings.... that's just great to see. It bodes well.

Holy fuck. This is my first exposure to P5 and I have no idea what I'm hyped as fuck. More hyped than MH4U coming out soon w my n3DS MH edition. The gameplay looks like a huge improvement, love the the zipping from cover to cover!!

Makes me want to start P4G and ignore my current games (P3P, Danganronpa 1)

P3P's gameplay has slowly becoming too repetitive for me and really want to finish P3P before starting P4G. But I might just throw the towel in for P3P.. must experience this P4G hype asap.

I just hope we get some more characters. I don't think blonde-couple is enough for me.
I don't want to play with the cat. I hated Teddy too.

I want to see someone like Shinjiro - the best Persona character.

Well that didn't take long

HAHAHA

I kinda share the sentiment.
