I think he's saying it is Sony's IP. AFAIK Sony owns all IPs that they publish. One of the reasons Insomniac chose to make Sunset Overdrive with Microsoft (they let them retain their IP)

Oh, I see, thanks. Well, I follow RaD since their games on PSP, I like them and I hope they are satisfied and happy to continue this partnership with sony.

Knights of the round table? Musical sequence confirmed

Oh please recreate this scene from Monty Python in the order engine, it would be hilarious

Personally, I really would like them to bring this partnership with SCE to a whole new level by making it an official thing. I would like them to work on whatever (a bit like Naughty Dog) they want without having to worry about the fundings of their projects.

Oh it is. I was just saying that the IP will be exclusive to Playstation since they do own it.

Was wondering if there were any acquisition you heard about (rumors or official talks)? I don't want names, just a tease.

Sony always owns the IP if it's publishing so as long as RaD want to work on the franchise, which they seem very committed to, they'll be working with Sony. Sony may also have a right of refusal clause on the next IP they do, meaning Sony would get first dibs and if they pass then another publisher can take it. I'm not sure if that's a typical part of Sony contracts but I know it is for pubs EA and Ubi. I could see Sony going this way more in the future since it saves them money from buying studios outright.

Hum, so it's not Sony's IP?

Just for future reference all Sony exclusive IPs are owned by Sony. Its part of the deal with sharing technologies and such. Which basically started around the time Sony realized the PS1 was very dependent on two franchises they didnt own (Spyro and Crash). Which is good for Sony, but it results in Sony owning a shit ton of IPs they dont use anymore.

Austin Wintory co-wrote The Knights Theme. The bulk of the score was composed by Jason Graves, who wrote the scores for Dead Space and Tomb Raider 2013.

Soundtrack by Austin Wintory!?!?!?!?!

I'd seen the name as well and knew it was familiar, I completely forgot he composed Journey's soundtrack! The music in this game will clearly be a quality above what we usually get from most games. The graphics are already there. Just hope the story is compelling as well. And the gameplay, can't forget the gameplay, no one will let you forget about the bloody gameplay.. :p

Sony owns the IP anyway Gribble, I'm sure R&D will work with Sony for the bulk of this gen and share some of there tech with other studios.

btw everyone should put some good headphones on and listen to this...amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwZSgMbl2ic
The studio is more important than that IP imo though. But, RaD should do whatever best for them. Their job is making as many good games as possible. Whichever platform they are on, I still play anyway :)

And goddamn, that music is so good. It was the main reason why I purchased the dynamic theme for my PS4.

I really really hope this game reviews well.

It won't affect my personal purchase, as I've seen enough good stuff to convince me, but it would be a shame to see lots of people write it off based on a 70something metacritic score.

I wouldn't get your hopes up based on some of the extremely harsh, and nigh on immature previews, Eg Gallahad crying photoshop...Seems a lot of people just really dislike the idea of a linear, cinematic focused game, and a game where innovation in gameplay mechanics was never really a key consideration, rather it was to offer a polished take on what has been done before, but in a unique setting, with more emphasis on characters, narrative, lore, different weapons and gory gunplay.

Personally when I read the reviews I'm going to have to selectively pick through the noise, disregarding the things that don't personally bother me. Eg a lack of innovation, cut scene heavy, narrative, cinematic focus, use of QTE's etc. Really I want to know things like how the gunplay feels, how satisfying the weapons are, is the combat fun, how successful the characters and narrative are, the quality of the sound track, pacing of the game, how good the level and combat design is, is the cover system intuitive, the AI, variety in design, how well melee combat and stealth is implemented, how much of a difference the tech and art plays to the overall level of immersion and atmosphere etc. I know the kind of game The Order is proposing to be, what I care about is how well they've pulled it off.

Yeah I know, I feel like many outlets have already made up their minds just based on their preview articles and specific tweets/impressions from individual journalists.

I'm just saying I really hope that the final product changes that because there is a large group that pays attentions to the numerical scores and metacritic average. I think RAD is crafting something very special that deserves to be experienced and I just hope that the audience is able to understand what they're trying to do.

I'm with you though, I don't really care about the scores for myself. I'm buying it for the story/atmosphere, cool weapons, and amazing audio/visual accomplishments, so I'm looking at it more like an "experience" than a game, kind of like how I felt about watching Avatar or Gravity in theatres. I just want to be immersed and lost in what's happening and that the gameplay sequences are fun and punchy.

Wow still 2 weeks to go and there's this feeling that the pandora's box is about to be opened for this game, at this rate there's a chance that full walkthrough will be leaked before release date LOL
I'm not going to spoil things for myself and won't watch videos, but I'm reading through the lines that the game could have different unexpected twists and surprises...which I really like :D

After spending some time watching this and reading up about it I've finally pre-ordered the PSN version. I'm from the UK but I had some money waiting on my US account for a while so I only had to add $20 which didn't feel too bad.

Although the game has taken time to settle in with me I'm really looking forward to playing this now. Only a couple of weeks to go so not long left.

I feel like I have to buy it now because you mirror my feelings. Nothing they've shown before this has piqued my interest.

Eww, please don't.
Well, unsurprisingly Gears of War was a big (**not the only**) factor and influence in terms of standard combat design and gameplay. [Please don't take this to mean they copped everything off Gears lol]

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that given how excellent that series is.
