Not really, the media has been known to shit on games for ridiculous reasons. If we're talking Sony games just look at the Driveclub reviews, docking points for things like "soulless" and "not open world".

Can't wait for the "No next gen gameplay" comments while failing to specify what they believe next gen gameplay is.

Was referring to the knight's theme, which he co wrote. But yeah, Graves' is the main composer.

Yeah can't wait to find out.

I don't want to get overhyped, but they wouldn't be telling us to check IMDB if it wasn't someone noteworthy. I mean, I guess that means you can rule out Troy Baker or Nolan North because it's more of a surprise when they aren't in a game. Right?

Yup. I've still yet to see anyone provide a shred of evidence that "next gen" gameplay is a real thing. The closest I've seen is stuff like the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor, but that's more of a behind the scenes political simulation and not something easily demonstrable via gameplay

The mainstream video game press has been down on this game for quite a while. They almost chuckle whenever its brought up. However, one of the earliest (and quite vocal) detractors of the game is Colin Moriarty of Kinda Funny (formally of IGN). After the PSX event, he had a much more optimistic appraisal of the game. I guess that's encouraging. I know I'll love it, just going by the premise, atmosphere, and just overall aura of the game.

Must be some hollywood actor for sure

I'm really curious if it's one of the 4 main characters we've seen. None of the voices don't seem recognizable. I guess you wouldn't want that anyway. It could take you out the experience if the voice is very recognizable. They did say something along the lines of we won't believe it's that particular actor, which is where the IMDB part comes in I guess.

MGSV:TPP probably has the most "next-gen" gameplay that I've seen, and funnily enough it's also a last-gen game. :p

This generation will even more proof how important 1st and 2nd party studios can be when they concentrate only on the strengths of one system at the time. It's simply nuts to see what RaD achieved after five years of development and in its second year of PS4. And that's only the beginning. I don't expect that games will from now on look much worse than this beauty here (1st/2nd party games mind you). Multiplats doing never justice of the real power of a console and everyone who thought the current gen systems are already maxed out is a fool.

May be the elder lycan?

(I mention the final story trophy here, though not by name. Highlight at your own risk.)
For those who saw the trophy list, the "beat the game" trophy seems to indicate that some shit is going to go down in the ending. I've believed that this game would have a mostly straightforward story, but the way the game has been marketed through the ARG and the website, I get the feeling like there's something that's going to (or is supposed to) blow my mind away.

Is there anybody who has played the game who could help keep my expectations for the story in check?

I'm half expecting Timothy Dalton to voice the main villain. It just seems ... appropriate ...somehow. I don't know how to explain but in my head it fits perfectly. I just wish Sir Sean Connery wasn't out of the business. Could you imagine him voicing Percival? Game of the forever.

Agreed!

Austin Wintory co-wrote The Knights Theme. The bulk of the score was composed by Jason Graves, who wrote the scores for Dead Space and Tomb Raider 2013.

This is accurate. It is, at its heart, Jason's score. He and I are very good friends and RAD and Sony had the idea of us collaborating on the early stages of the score, to sort of set the tone. The thematic material we wrote together is used all through the game, but it really is his baby. And he did an extraordinary job... I can't wait for you all to hear it. :)

I can't wait for the soundtrack. Going by the featurette on the music, it has this wonderfully dark and macabre nature to it. Very fitting for the game's genre and era it takes place in, considering the Gothic genre was created in the 1800's with stories such as Frankenstein and Dracula.

I'm someone who rarely notices music in games unless it's exceptional but it's one of the things that's stood out with this title. Really looking forward to that aspect of it.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, despite being a character from another piece of fiction (Dracula), I hope Van Helsing appears as a cameo.

Nice to see you on here fella.

Thanks for the clarification! As a huge fan of your work, its great to have you around on GAF.

That theme alone already sounds great. Good to know that there are aspects of both of you throughout the OST, legitimately looking forward to it. :)

The Order theme song is fantastic. As is the other pieces I've heard a little of leading up to launch.

Huge fan of your work, cool to see you clarify.

Man I'm so glad to see you are here. The other order thread had gone to hell and at least this one continues to deliver. Looking forward to the entire soundtrack :)

Didn't realize it could be him. That's all... :)

And I doubt Graham McTavish would be who the guy in the interview was referring to, considering he's been in several games. He was Zoran Lazarevic in Uncharted 2, Charlie Cutter in Uncharted 3, Joseph Bertrand in inFAMOUS 2, and many other characters in various games. Plus, he was Dwalin in The Hobbit Trilogy (not a video game, but cool nonetheless).

Yeah I'm sure he is not the one being teased. Must be someone bigger. Could be a debut as well

Maybe some actor saw Kevin Spacey in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and was like, hmm... I want to give that a shot. I don't know if he would be a fit (or good in a video game), but one A-list actor that is already very tied to Sony (I think he has production deal with them or something) is George Clooney. In fact, he defended Kaz Hirai when some stock holder was trying to push for Sony Pictures to be spun-off from Sony. He'd be a big get, I guess.
