Why is there actually a P5 x FFXV war?

Same reason there's one for every remotely similar fanbase. People need that thing they like to be better than that thing other people like.

If I have to choose over P5 and FFXV, I'll take Persona but I definitely want to get FFXV eventually too.

Is there actually much of one? All I've seen is a few comments here and there.

There isn't?

So, it's just me that got this feline..

I wouldn't want to choose a side between those two.

Then again.
Morgana > all

Used that picture of girlie and the cat as my wallpaper on my phone. I just wish there was something more high res.

I've since changed the themes on my due monitors, tablet and PS3 to something P5 related. Hype is real.

Huh. Atlus is kind of serious about making their mainline games take place in Tokyo. Everything else takes place in a fictionalized setting.

Most of the SMT games take place in Tokyo. Persona was where they decided to go with their own locations but it looks like they're coming back to Tokyo for P5.

so is persona just a big thing here on the gaf or does its presence here reflect its potential popularity

SMT stands as one of the great RPG franchises, but is also seen as one of the most consistent franchises through the present. Atlus love is pretty strong.

Persona always had a following which grew a good deal with 3. That's when I first heard about it. From reading an article about a couple selling their blood to afford it, then passing out after watching the games intro. lol.

Persona 4 I think is what made the series good enough to start bragging about. Which really expanded the following. Pretty much anywhere you go on the web you'll find fans of the series.

Hell, Nocturne kinda says Tokyo is the nexus of reality where obsolete universes come to die and new ones are being created in an endless cycle. I'd say they like Tokyo a lot.

I kind of hope they don't actually call it Tokyo and just fudge around with the names just for the hell of it.

GAF loves persona. It definitely has a strong fanbase, but it's never a good idea to base a games potential outreach by GAF excitement, or else Smash would be outselling GTA and CoD, while Persona and Bloodborne would dominate everything else

wikipedia lists it as a "social simulator".

also, would anyone happen to know the possible release window for this game?

so summer, this year. not bad. also, has this series ever featured multiplayer of sorts?

Nope.

Edit:

Well, actually, there was Persona 4 golden's async multiplayer functions(basically leaving a trail of what you did each day for other people to compare to and giving each other very slight healing).

Devil Survivor takes place in Tokyo too and it's not mainline "SMT", just "Megami Ibunroku" like Persona.

I started my New Game + on P4G after getting hyped up for the series again by this trailer.

Unfortunately, now I can never unhear the mondegreen lyrics...

"Tell me why you're dirty, electric phone in the butt?"
"Tell me why you're dirty - out to the corners."

I could swear that one of the Persona 3 songs say "have a party with a burned lasagna".

that sounds interesting. but it was a vita game, which means it wasn't very successful was it?

as it is, I think it's the highest rated persona game there is.
That's not what I said. "After June 25th." It could release at the tail end of December 2015 in Japan, for all we know.
well, that would suck. that would mean we don't get it till 2016. and if not, q4 i'll be busy with Uc4.
Actually, if you extend your question to SMT as a whole, which Persona is a part of, there has been some MMO called Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine. Though I honestly have no idea whatsoever this game might be and only the Japanese servers are still up.

Edit: Amazing.
ah, but that's not exactly a part of the persona series, so if we were to expect multiplayer, it probably wouldn't be like that would it?
