Same.

Post game boss fight with Kazuma Kiryu in Kamurocho now that Sega has a hand in Atlus.
Why is there actually a P5 x FFXV war?
Is there actually much of one? All I've seen is a few comments here and there.
There isn't?
Same reason there's one for every remotely similar fanbase. People need that thing they like to be better than that thing other people like.
If I have to choose over P5 and FFXV, I'll take Persona but I definitely want to get FFXV eventually too.

People taking lighthearted jabs seriously.
This calls for a crossover game....
This.
They'll be an |OT| 2 in no time.
so is persona just a big thing here on the gaf or does its presence here reflect its potential popularity
Huh. Atlus is kind of serious about making their mainline games take place in Tokyo. Everything else takes place in a fictionalized setting.
The trailer has nearly 2mil views, don't think GAF alone did that.
Most of the SMT games take place in Tokyo. Persona was where they decided to go with their own locations but it looks like they're coming back to Tokyo for P5.

GAF loves persona. It definitely has a strong fanbase, but it's never a good idea to base a games potential outreach by GAF excitement, or else Smash would be outselling GTA and CoD, while Persona and Bloodborne would dominate everything elseso is persona just a big thing here on the gaf or does its presence here reflect its potential popularity
I kind of hope they don't actually call it Tokyo and just fudge around with the names just for the hell of it.
"Shibuya"
I only see "uya" the dream is still alive.

SMT stands as one of the great RPG franchises, but is also seen as one of the most consistent franchises through the present. Atlus love is pretty strong.
Persona always had a following which grew a good deal with 3. That's when I first heard about it. From reading an article about a couple selling their blood to afford it, then passing out after watching the games intro. lol.
Persona 4 I think is what made the series good enough to start bragging about. Which really expanded the following. Pretty much anywhere you go on the web you'll find fans of the series.
Bottom right corner says "Shibuya" in japanese
Bottom right says シブヤ (Shibuya)

also, would anyone happen to know the possible release window for this game?
Yeah, 2015. Probably after June 25th.
so summer, this year. not bad. also, has this series ever featured multiplayer of sorts?

Great podcast Inorigo! Look forward to the next one.So, myself, some guys from the community thread and a few others did a podcast all about the trailer!

Fun facts:

-It's our 50th episode
-it's all about Persona
Stars aligned for this one. If you listen, I hope you enjoy it.

So what does the text in the UI around the date and the weather icon say? Is it just the month and time of day, a la "Afternoon" or "Evening"?
I started my New Game + on P4G after getting hyped up for the series again by this trailer.
Unfortunately, now I can never unhear the mondegreen lyrics...
"Tell me why you're dirty, electric phone in the butt?"
"Tell me why you're dirty - out to the corners."

Yeah, it's just Morning/Evening etc.
Yes, YouTube user YongYeaadded English translations to the trailer in case you're curious about something else.So what does the text in the UI around the date and the weather icon say? Is it just the month and time of day, a la "Afternoon" or "Evening"?

Actually, if you extend your question to SMT as a whole, which Persona is a part of, there has been some MMO called Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine. Though I honestly have no idea whatsoever this game might be and only the Japanese servers are still up.
Edit: Amazing.
How likely is a 2016 release? And how likely is a western 2016 release?

that sounds interesting. but it was a vita game, which means it wasn't very successful was it?Nope.
Edit:
Well, actually, there was Persona 4 golden's async multiplayer functions(basically leaving a trail of what you did each day for other people to compare to and giving each other very slight healing).
well, that would suck. that would mean we don't get it till 2016. and if not, q4 i'll be busy with Uc4.That's not what I said. "After June 25th." It could release at the tail end of December 2015 in Japan, for all we know.
ah, but that's not exactly a part of the persona series, so if we were to expect multiplayer, it probably wouldn't be like that would it?Actually, if you extend your question to SMT as a whole, which Persona is a part of, there has been some MMO called Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine.
