Dear Kanye, please fall off of my face. Signed ... Some dude

I understand that, but his music doesn't exist in a vacuum. The sales environment changed for a lot of artists, not just Kanye West. He still can sell digital albums?

You're comparing his album sales to those of artists who sold their albums when people still bought them. It isn't a fair comparison. And album sales, digital or otherwise, come from young white women primarily. So I guess it's a good metric for measuring what's popular with them...

Got some hard data for this?

This bums me out because Beck and Kanye aren't really all that different. Both of them push the boundaries of their respective generes in ways that are both interesting and still commercially-viable

I'm happy Beck won, even though I'm not a big of his last album. I'll take it as a 16 year late win for Midnite Vultures.

Or anyone really. She should have blown up way more by now.

Agree 100%. Her albums are great and she is beyond amazing live.

He didn't even go to his wedding lol
I remember Beyoncé Instagramming (?) some random ass pictures on their wedding day and I think she was getting called out by her followers. I think one person said "girl, you know you could have went to that damn wedding" ...or something like that lol

Kanye West doesn't care about Beck people.

This joke has been made a million times already right?
You're the first and I kinda laughed.

Genius.

I like to stay up to date on the current social trends, and voicing my opinions - however ambivalent they are.
Well, you're not doing a very good job of staying up to date if you know nothing about one of the most popular musical artists in the world, despite the fact that there is nothing stopping you from listening to his music for free (and legally, at that).

I'm always amused when pop music discussion crosses over in to serious business. A large portion of the time, you can tell people are joking when they refer to their favorite pop musician with religious connotation.

But occasionally, it's pretty clear that someone is actually taking this seriously. It's sort of like a group of women gossiping about their favorite soap opera, with most just enjoying the ride, but you can tell one of them actually thinks General Hospital is very serious and important.

Why does it have to be a group of women? Men watch soap operas too!

And I really really do not understand the Kanye love around here (nevermind his antics)
Dude is a great producer
That's it

Can't rhyme
Can't sing

He's one dimensional

And?

Bob Dylan couldn't sing either. Music isn't only about being technically proficient or John Legend would win everything always.

I'll just say it like this, I'd rather have a decade of additional darkness with ten more years of Keeping Up with the Kardashians AND Honey Boo Boo if it mean Kanye would fade into obscurity. The guy's an asshat and stunts like this aren't even funny. But you know what IS funny? Fishsticks!

ahhhhh an expert. I guess you also think Keanu Reeves looks like a figure skater in every movie he stars in and cannot act right?

He's totally racist I agree.

Bob Dylan has always been known as a great songwriter

Just like Kanye should only be known as a great producer

Honestly his abilities as a producer are a footnote on his resume.

Who listens to kanye west past album 3?

Everyone? He's one of the most critically acclaimed artists of all time, largely because of his more recent output.

Cause you will never get on top off this
So mommy best advice is to get on top of this
Have you ever had sex with a pharaoh
I put the pussy in a sarcophagus
Now she claiming I bruise her esophagus
Head of the class and she just want a swallow-ship
I'm living the future so the presence is my past
My presence is a present kiss my ass

Four in the morning, and I'm zoning
They say I'm possessed, it's an omen
I keep it 300, like the Romans
300 bitches, where's the Trojans?

You can't tell me that shit isn't fire. The second is factually incorrect but it's still hilarious and awesome. It's his personality, his arrogance, his style that makes him who he is, not his technical proficiency.

Considering MBDTF is one of the most critically acclaimed albums to come out in a long time I'd say a lot of people

Plenty. 808s is actually a good album, and while I only like MBDTF (at best), it's widely considered a classic album.

Honestly his abilities as a producer are a footnote on his resume.

Apparently plenty of people listen to MBDTF, myself included.

I'm just cracking up reading those again. So good. So good.

Kanye's antics aren't tolerated by major corporations, and it makes sense. Companies that promote ethical and morally-sound behavior do not want to work with people who promote negativity. It's a shame that Adidas chose to 'embrace' his creativity and desire to make shoes. You can tell a lot about a companies culture by who they do business with.
Yes, and that culture is that they want to make money.

Well but Taylor Swift is hella cute.
