About where in Maryland are you? I know of a store around here that sells game's early from time to time that I will be checking out in the next week.

Near Takoma Park. But I'm willing to make the trip out if it means getting the game early.

Spill the beans.

Or like, PM me, pretty please.

You're pretty close it's in the College Park area.

Do tell, as I'm also currently in MD and there are no non-chain game stores. Everything is gamestop or best buy.

Will send you guys a PM, but a warning they've also failed me a few times so we shall see.

I'd also like to know.

Maryland isn't too far from me, I'd make the drive

haha you could walk that distance

I changed my post before your post. That shot is horrible, I'm sorry. You can even see it continues even farther down the road.

You can watch videos of the game to see the over used effects, you don't need new screenshots for that.

How many effects are acceptable before it crosses over into "overuse," oh Arbiter of Visual Design?

might trade in driveclub / gta v to get this. haven't been enjoying them all too much...feel like i need something fairly linear and laid back

Damn he got banned?

Glad to see that shit isn't tolerated. No one's against a reasonable discussion or criticism but it was clear he had no interest in the game to begin with, just wanted to stir the pot.

These threads move fast. Just went a few pages back. I guess the dude thought the leniency by mods in this thread had to be exploited. Trying to one up the others in shock factor and got burned.

He'll be back. He's a member after all. And they adjust.

Lol at Orochi spoiling stuff....cmon son.

I'm going to finish up with FC4 and possibly DA and trade them in. The Order is exactly the kind of game I need right now. Feels like a breath of fresh air. With Bloodbourne and The Witcher coming soon, this is perfect timing for The Order to come out.

That's how I feel. Finished Far Cry 4, Dragon Age, GTA, and Dying Light, all within the last few months. I feel drained with open world games.

And that's perfectly fine, it's quite a common and normal thing to have a "preference".

But you also don't go in Xbox threads to show "concerns" or being negative about a game. (or at least I don't notice you there). =P

Exactly this. I really don't understand the urge to downplay games in which you have no interest or intent to purchase. I, as with most human beings, have preferences but I'm not going to jump in a thread about a game I'm not looking forward just to express concerns unless I am actually seeking information or if I feel like there is a discussion to be had. There is really no point otherwise.

Yeah, the graphics have always looked really great, but the world itself seems so unappealing with its overcast, sooty-gray industrial revolution world.

It's a good job you didn't live in Victorian London then, you probably wouldn't have enjoyed it.

Yeah, I feel that way about the setting and its real life historical basis. Just not the kind of imagery that looks interesting or very good to me. Hopefully, it's not too heavy on it in the game.

I can see how some won't find it appealing, it's a matter of taste. I'm in love with it. I'm totally behind these guys and their artistic vision for this game.

Those were the days. Now Kobe is washed up, Pau is a journeyman, soft-journeyman, Ariza is a thug enforcer, daddy's boy is a TV commentator last I checked.... Odom is high on drugs....Bynum is collecting pension checks.

Jim Buss will be the death of the Laker franchise.

Oppose to the Sunshine and Lollipop filled Industrial Age?
Or are you saying because it is set in the industrial revolution its just unappealing due to setting?

Yeah... Never been a Lakers fan, but it was a joy to watch that team play. The Shaq years were also great, but the last two championships felt more satisfying.

Yes, that looks nice, but I was posting my opinion based on screenshots in the OP. As I already said, hopefully, the game won't be mostly stuck in the gray backdrop of those shots too much.

I already addressed this with my first post. I don't find the setting's overcast world appealing even if the time period could be cool. What's difficult to understand? It doesn't have to be blue skies everywhere, but I'm commenting on the official screenshots that seem to focus on low-contrast gray and murky darkness. Just expressing an opinion that hopes for greater variation that doesn't end up mostly outside in the cloudy weather and ashen environment.

I watched the first hour and seen plenty of variation in the looks and filters used, well lit environments, colourful fruit stalls and street flags.

Not saying any particular person/case is it, but some of it I feel is just negative astroturfing.

Some of it is just too manipulative, and too concerted. Astroturfing definitely exists and is widespread on the internet I take everything I read with a grain of salt whether or not it supports my viewpoint or opposes it

On the subject of this thread, I am loving these screenshots myself, but I am a bit of film buff(who am I kidding, huge film fanatic), so to be expected
