Show is on a roll writing wise, the last two episodes have been great. Honestly, after the Rogues and Pied Piper ones I was sorta ready to jump ship, but I'm back. Feels like they are done teasing, and ready to start pleasing.

I'm disappointed in Flash fans for not having a youtube edit of the scene where Barry and the girl kiss and Iris walks away with "WELCOME TO THE NEW AGE TO THE NEW AGE" in the background

A good CW drinking game is taking a shot every time one character overhears or spies two other characters having a dramatic conversation or kissing. I think they have a quota for it.

Barry needs to lock that down stat.

LAWD

That moment when you realize that the news reporter who was hardcore hitting on Wally in Justice League Unlimited (the episode where the Rogues ambushed Wally at the Flash Museum) was Linda Park.

I can imagine it now,
the incident that turns Caitlin into Killer Frost occurs, with something potentially driving Caitlin & Ronnie apart prior driving her insane. Season 2 starts with frozen corpses all across Central City, leaving Flash & Firestorm to deal with the now-lethal Caitlin.

Till this ep Iris has been a bit useless, but nothing beyond that. With this ep she crossed over into annoying territory. Hopefully it's just one time incursion. We don't need another Laurel, especially now that even Laurel has been fixed somewhat.

Usually the CW's brand of action plus romance works well, but this is a case when it didn't. This "I didn't realize I loved him untill I lost him to another woman/man" is a common trope in romance stories and there it usually works very well. But when writers pull it off there people are already invested in the relationship and are cheering for it. Here in Flash the previous episodes didn't establish that. Few people care about Barry/Iris. Most people care a LOT about Barry though, so instead of "aww...finally" reaction we got "stop fucking shit up for my bro Barry you dumb dumb woman".

I generally think those shows should simplify their romance subplots. Soap is integral part of superhero mythos, but you have to realize you can't throw as complex romance subplots when you show is mostly about punching bad guys in the face. There's just not enough time spent on romance to make complexities work.

First : No Wells, that is NOT how evolution works and you KNOW it.

Second : YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY nice to see time travell finaly confirmed =D

LOL at super vibration xD

This essentially.
Caitlin is doomed to become a villain, what kind of villain she will be (either full-on or tragic) remains to be seen.

They've got a long way to go to make that transition workable. Had they kept Caitlin more stoic as in the pilot it may have been easier.

They might have an issue in that a lot of the show is based around the 'scooby gang' set up, if you have Wells as a pseudo villain as well as Caitlin you're removing that dynamic almost completely.

I KNEW IT!

Episode 2, I said
'Yep, Barry's about to figure out he can time travel'
Took him long enough.

Also, Iris is seriously getting on my nerves at this point. Like, wtf girl, first you friendzone him for 20 years, then you get jelly when he stops giving you 100% of his attention? Man, what an attention ho. And a major cock block.

P.S.: I'm still waiting for him to say 'be back in a flash'

P.S.2: So, to the people who've read the comics more than I have -
I remember there was something going terribly wrong the first time Barry realised he can time-travel,
care to direct me to the right comics I should read to educate myself? I've only read the ones after that.

Did I watch the same episode or are people really hating Iris for trying to work through some complex emotions?

She didn't even directly throw Barry under the bus, either. Her only crime was that she just screwed up trying to cover for his bizarre behavior.

The show remains fun, but they pushed the cheese to its limits this week on a few things. That wig on Firestorm...

Still, loved Barry in this episode and I'm glad they've kept pushing every element of the plot forward so regularly.

She can work through that without telling his new potential girl that he thirsted for someone for years. "He hasn't dated in awhile so he might be a bit rusty on etiquette." Partial truth without making Barry look like a fool and with no chance of Linda figuring out that he was into Iris.

On some level Iris knew exactly what she was doing when she said all that.

Pretty decent episode. Not too much of a surprise to find out that was Flash Barry in the past. The Firestorm effects looked pretty impressive. Especially for a CW show. The date stuff with Barry was fun, though i'm not too keen in what they did with Iris during this episode.

I liked the episode. Could have done with more Victor Garber but I'm liking what we've seen of Firestorm so far.

The General guy coming back was a nice surprise as he was too good of an actor to use just for the one other episode he was in. He could be like the Flash's version of Waller from Arrow, someone who uses questionable methods for what they see is the overall good.

Barry and the reporter had some nice chemistry and I liked that their relationship is just fun at the minute. I'm not a fan of the Barry/Iris romance but I guess that's where the show will go due to comics, but I find he has more chemistry with other women on the show. Plus he's practically her brother makes a romance seem off.

Is there anyone on this show that Joe doesn't have chemistry with? Every time he's paired with someone its great. While I didn't like the magic mirror sub plot with him and Cisco, the two characters were good together.

"Oh, Barry's just.... Barry, you know..."

No one ever says that to a person who just met Barry.
She practically came out as having feelings for him, rather than the other way around.
Too late now, though.

P.S.: In girl talk, I would put this as 'I'm actually eyeballing him so back off'

Yeah, I wish Iris was more secure in her relationship with Eddie.

Like... I hated it when Barry was mooning over her (cause it's weird) and now that he's moving on, they're just throwing that on Iris? Jeez.

At least Felicity is not stabilizing and becoming consistent and calling Oliver out on his real shit.

At least Felicity is generally a super smart, hot and useful character. Team Arrow wouldn't be without her. What has Iris ever done?

Being the token idiot.

"God, Barry even since the flash has appeared you're acting weird like you're hiding something from me! what is wrong with you?"

I mean, really.

This is one of the big reasons why having Lois know Clark is Superman so soon in Man of Steel and in the cinematic universe is a good thing. Why Carol knowing Hal was behind the mask in Green Lantern was good. It makes the character look stupid (when there is no reason) when they're that close to someone and can't do the math unless they have significant reasons for not being able to put it together. I've never been a fan of the love interest or close family not knowing unless it's done really well.

I think we have to remember this is a CW show so this drama is going to be there and perhaps even forced.

So I wonder if Cisco will go exploring STAR Labs one day and finds the secret room that Wells hides the RF suit in. Maybe he even talks to Gideon.

Yeah, this has been perplexing me as well. Why is the entrance to Well's secret lair located in a long winding hallway? Couldn't he find somewhere more secluded?

It almost makes me wonder if the writers did this on purpose so that someone will surreptitiously see him enter the room.

I believe that's how they're gonna change up the status quo for later seasons. With Wells & Caitlin gone, Barry & Cisco will probably have to hold down the fort (hopefully Joe is still there to help out). I'm guessing they'll at least have Firestorm on board to help, & maybe introduce Wally West by then.

Like I said during the episode, this is what she did:

me said:
"I'm not saying dude's a virgin, but I never seen him get laid while he was thirsting after me."

Some friend.

There are MUCH better ways to explain your best friend's social awkwardness than implying that he sucks with girls because he's still in love with you. As goofy as Barry was around Iris pre midseason, he at least made the effort to become friends with Eddie, be open with Iris about his feelings, distance himself from Iris when it became too awkward for both of them...he even helped her move into her BFs place.

The show has run into the same problem (as someone mentioned above) that other superhero shows have. They've written the inevitable love interest as needlessly tsundere to justify the main character not being with them for the first few seasons, and it comes at the expense of the audience noticing, "wait, why is he pining after this girl when there are 4 other girls just as hot in this show that want him badly and clearly get along with him so much better?"

Chloe vs Lana Lang was the worst example of this, with Felicity vs Laurel coming pretty close.

Contrast this to something like The Spectacular Spider-Man, where the main character doesn't realize that "the one" is best for him, because he's a stupid teenager who's goal in life is to date a cheerleader or a model.

So now we have Iris, who got along just fine while Barry was in a coma, and whom we've already seen is quite happy in her current relationship with Eddie who is actually a great guy, creating drama for no other reason than Barry + Iris has to be a thing.

Just watched the last episode, very close to drop it. I'm really sick of all the dumb stuff and this episode had a shitload of it.
Wasted potential too regarding the Ronnie/Stein character.
That said I'm still interested in the Wells storyline so I'll likey watch until the end of the season...sigh.
