I remember that animation from the trailer. My least favorite melee execution by far, looks very obviously like two actors hitting each other instead of that "Mmm goddamn you got knocked the **** out" look from some of the other executions like the one against the pillar that was posted earlier.

Looks like he snaps his leg and beats the shit out of him to me. Good stuff.

go away for a little bit and this is what I come back to.

not sure if should be hyped or not.

Y'all don't know what the fuck you want.

Ask for impressions, I give you real, accurate, impressions.

Don't like them.

"Stop giving us incomplete impressions."

THAT'S WHAT THE FUCK IMPRESSIONS ARE.

I like impressions :(

Rapier, would you say that The Order's story telling and plot aren't as straight forward as Uncharted 1 and 2?

I don't wanna spoil people's excitement.

Storytelling tastes are THE MOST subjective topics out there. (Just look at hard core MGS fans)

And to be fair to RAD, ND has had tons of experience and talent come and go for their storytelling game.

I'll repeat: the game's dialogue and VA is extremely convincing , it just feels airy and fluffy without concrete , expository backstory stuff.

SO FAR

Although judging from Theman's final review, it doesn't change much. So y'all better buy the game, cause I think a sequel is due.

Haha!!
Don't wont worry Rapier, everybody is just in a total frenzy in this thread.
Impressions are welcome. Thanks for the spoiler free thoughts.

Impressions are cool.

Idk why people base their purchasing decisions on them. If you like what you see, then go buy it. At least, go rent it.

Alright, I think I get you. Let's see how you feel after you finish the story.

Reading this thread is clear why (sometimes) it's better not to share early impressions here.

Early impressions are fine, just don't tell people to "go buy this game nao" after a short amount of time with the game.

On the other end of the spectrum, I think people need to be more accepting of skepticism and slightly less positive impressions.

People work hard for their money, some of us just want to be sure and some people want to respond to eeeevery bit of skepticism like we're being ridiculous for making sure it's worth $60.

Dude you still harping on this?

It still did not change is overall impressions, why does matter if he feels that way?

Aside from being a typical Order: 1886 thread, what is happening now?

Like any other The Order thread, it is utter choas, but mainly lighthearted. (I think).

The odd troll has shown up to say "just a third person, story driven game, with forced fuckin waking sections like TLOU or uncharted.............but it's absolutley nothing like Gears of war in any way"
this could be a strawman on my part, I'm drunk and can't find such a post but I'm sure I read one earlier, or maybe I just made it up in my head

But apart from that, impressions seem decent. Roll on next Friday.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out whether I should get this or Majora's Mask remake. I have a $5 Best Buy coupon that expires on the 21st and I have GCU, but I only have the money for one or the other lol

Tough, tough choice.

good luck with that one! :P

Re-touched MM seems nice, unless the Order is spectacular, thats my vote

As long as you keep responding to every person who has doubts. Doubts are normal for a new IP and an unproven studio. Give people a break.

Fair enough. One thing that nettles me is when people claim to be a representative sample though. Can't we just speak for ourselves? i.e. 'Give me a break'. Otherwise, I agree that it is important to take early impressions with a grain of salt.

However, it does seem that if you are looking for a narrative focused cinematic game, this game seems like an enticing prospect. I honestly find it bizarre the way people seem to think every game needs to have a huge interactive world with a branching narrative. So far in gaming there have been big trade offs. As I said, I am currently playing Dragon Age Inquisition, and the game is in many ways very bland. It is a good game, but it has very little vibrancy. Very little intimacy. Little character as well. This game seems to be a much more intimate experience, and I think there is definitely room for that.

yeah I'm kind of leaning towards MM, but I've played it on 64 already (although I lent it to a friend a decade ago and never got it back so it'd be nice just have the remaster) so... lol, here I am waiting it out like the rest of you

to pre-order or not pre-order? that is the question

I would if you want a disc, I personally don't pre-order digital
(Just in case, I dodged a bullet with Assassin's Creed Unity as soon as they started spouting the parity crap).

Only you can decide. Personally I'd take the new game and play Majoras Mask on GameCube/N64 [I got multi-disc Zelda games when I got my GC] (or Wii U? Those play GC games, right? Or just Wii?).

It's just annoying with the weird trolling 24/7.
There seems to be confusion over the Knacks. That has nothing to do with me. That's not me. Look at my avatar. I'm black.

Also, look at this thread. Look at it. This is GAF. This is how it's always been. (Disclaimer: it may not have always been like this.) Someone throws a little comment here and there, maybe gives an impression here and there, maybe compares it to Killzone here and there, and all of a sudden, everyone goes crazy.

After a certain point, impressions, and feelings, and thoughts, and feelings, and impressions, don't carry as much weight as you playing the game. Impressions are there to give a general feeling of things, and I think both guys have done their best to do that. But reactions vary quite extremely to those impressions.

You're all even making Rapier feel bad now. So, am I really the bad person here? Think about this. Sure, I hate on everything and anything without remorse, but I don't hurt people's feelings. Except for people who care too much about video games, and probably have far too much of a close association with these games from a personal worth standpoint, in which case that's not a bad thing, since I'm helping them overcome that failure and teaching them to mature. Ignoring the philosophical thoughts however, who hurt Rapier's feelings?

It wasn't me.

Who hurt Theman2k's feelings?

It wasn't me.

It was GAF. (Disclaimer: GAF may not be one entity, but you are because since when has anyone recognised individual thoughts, and feelings.)

I captured this from some of the footage I was watching. Some brutal shit in this game:

Not sure why they have to cut to this camera angle when it breaks part of the immersion, RAD needs to learn as hard as it gets, never cut to a different camera because you're breaking that immersion factor, you can pan slightly to either side, zoom out a bit, but don't break the camera flow. The animation is good, but player control should always be a priority above all else.
