Pretty close.
...Downgrade?
Everything is blurry as hell.
Clearly they spat out a completed product by the end, but it sounds like they scared themselves in the process.
If you can rent it first I don't see how that could hurt. The game will likely end up being shorter than people expect anyway. Bloodborne will definitely be a longer game and have more replayability as well.
There's no downgrade, the assets are the same. The second image is more compressed and also appears to have some fog
Youtube compression compared to gamersyde screenshot, and the newer version has a lot more post processing effects applied and is set at night while the older version seems to just have DoF, Ingraine's hair is rendered better in the newer version as well. Also take into account that they're wearing their stealth outfits instead of the default Knight outfits in the older version....Downgrade?

Just let it go. Or you will have to react to plenty more of these bait posts (the comparison post i mean). They always seem so harmless. It's fog / polluted smog, which London was full of back then. All these comparison photos have been of the same section in Whitechapel. First pic looks more video gamey, while the second looks more like London. Interior shots aren't blurry.
One spoiler question for those who have played:Pre-release

That's not entirely true, the character models are slightly different; they have scarves now and Ingraine is carrying more equipment.
Lafayette went from I'm wearing a gold necklace to I'm poor
Well, it is good to hear the game is well polished.
I just hope the gameplay is really engaging too.
If it is, then Sony definitely has a winner here.
The only major problem I could see if that, due to the cinematic nature of the gameplay and level design, replayability will be fairly low.
I can't really see people going through this multiple times. Can any of you?

Oh, that makes sense then.
I starting dreading some DriveClub-style downgrade from pre-release ---> retail.
I really like the setting, and atmosphere, in the game. I honestly wouldn't mind a survival horror game in a similar setting. Maybe not London exactly, but more early 20th century Germany. Mix in some grounded fantasy elements, make it suitably creepy, and keep it somewhat cinematic too. I was thinking about this a week ago, and I don't think I've played many games that had a Germany influenced setting. I think there was a Shadow Hearts game, but I can't remember that well. It seems like the kind of setting where you could explore some interesting elements in a more fantastical world.Certainly. I cannot wait to just dive in to this experience. Looks at worst like it will be a fairly decent storyline with an impeccably realised setting, well acted for a game and with a good soundtrack. I say a decent storyline in comparison with a good film, not comparing to other games, where besides a very small selection it will clearly be miles ahead of any other game, and in execution at this point in time it stands alone.
At this point even if some things were downgraded it wouldn't matter since the game is one of the best looking games ever from a graphical standpoint.Oh, that makes much more sense.

One spoiler question for those who have played:are the marks on Izzy's face significant? I don't want a detailed answer, just a yes or no
Oh, that makes much more sense.

Driveclub wasn't downgraded either.
In fact, most games that people claimed downgrade on, weren't.
I wish it was explored a bit, but meh, good enough for me! Thanks!this never mentioned just once. i think it's just a little nod to their cause of fighting lycans
You came all the way from the MGS thread for that?
Just kidding. I chuckled.

Lol I was going to call those ones out but thought I would just let it go.
DS2 was the most obvious I had ever seen. So disappointing.
Fingers crossed for Story DLC and Grounded Mode + More Trophies.
Game has too much more stories to tell. I would rather expect a full next game.
Something like RAD saying in E3 interview that the next installment is being developed already.
Game was great IMO! Put about 150 hrs into, but yeah, absolutely a downgrade. Very depressing.
Mods helped, but, still wasn't the same![]()

DriveClub get a downgrade ? This is pretty new to me.
Yeah I only played about 10 hours, meant to go back but just ended up trading it in (didn't have the time to sink).
Thinking about getting the PS4 version but I'm wondering if I will even need it now that Bloodborne is almost out
I totally understand if you're avoiding it because you don't want to sully your gameplay experience, but WOW is that Knights Theme excellent. I almost wish I'd gone Collectors so I could get the soundtrack, but having one Steelbook on my shelf would bother me to no end. (If you haven't heard it yet: https://soundcloud.com/playstation/the-knights-theme Apparently, First Light also has a great soundtrack. Didn't make an impact on me while playing it, but its theme at least is fantastic.)
From what I'm reading here, I should be really excited for The Order: 1887 and expect it to be the series's AC2 or Uncharted 2. But I'm super excited for 1886.
P.S.: Soundtrack hits iTunes Tuesday for $11.
Is there a physical soundtrack?P.S.: Soundtrack hits iTunes Tuesday for $11.
P.P.S.: This game have a photo mode?
Yes. Holy shit. Can you imagine a tv series in this setting?

This dude claims that there's only an hour and a half of gameplay. Be warned this dude has a walkthrough uploaded so yeah, spoilers.
Most people in here have guessed it took them around 12 hours, you really think it's beatable in half that?
Is there a physical soundtrack?
Orochi coming in like clockwork. It never fails....Downgrade?

Going to look into this. By the time I finally get around to watching it, if it doesn't deliver what I wanted, I'm going to send you a sternly worded PM (mainly consisting of me probably crying but you get the idea) in a few months if I still remember it was you. Your life is on the line now.penny dreadful

So far:
"Psychological thriller that takes place in the dark corners of Victorian London" and James Bond starring is a pretty good start. Not bad. Sort of intrigued.
