Nintendo Financial Results Meeting rescheduled for February 17th.

So we can expect at least one micro-megaton tonight at the meeting, right? Last year it was here where Amiibo was revealed for the very first time. Delicate megatons since this is for investors and cranky people in suits and not for the players but still looking forward to this.

Some info on QOL maybe

Here's my deranged fantasy of how this (in all likelihood uneventful and boring) presentation will play out:

IWATA: "We are positioning Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Smash Bros. for WiiU, as evergreen titles with a life cycle of at least one year or more. To sustain interest, we have prepared DLC. Please take a look."

*montage plays, showcasing Mewtwo, Snake, Lucas, Wolf, Inklings, Chorus Kids, The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta*

IWATA: "Well? Did you rike it?"

*long silence from investors*

*someone in the background* "Where the fuck is Goku?!"

IWATA: "Please understand."

Last Year in January, we got the Release-Month of Mario kart. May.

So, maybe weg get the release month for Yoshi's Woolly World maybe? It is still scheduled for the 1st half of 2015.

Perfect time to tell investors they're making a new F-Zero

I'm not wearing my glasses. Plus still recovering from a massive sneeze attack. I just read this as "they're making a new Jay-Z."

Don't ask.

I could see it being their June game.

Wii U line up for the first half of 2015 is anemic in America. Kirby this week, Mario Party in March (which even Nintendo's PR forgot about), Splatoon in May, and that's it for scheduled releases. Sneaking Yoshi in right after E3 is probably going to be what they do.

wonder if they'll touch on the utter failure in supplying retail that is their new 3dsxl launch in the US, probably spin it as unprecedented demand

the sad thing is that I can totally see that happening

Sod the games. I want a NintendOS announcement.

Actually, here's hoping for a few hints as to what Club Nintendo is being replaced with.

Why? The platforms are more than a year away. Talking about that without new platforms is pointless.

I'll take a logo. That way, I'll know it's alive. Let me live, TheMoon.

I'm not allowed to say I think a game looks bad? Okay, control my opinion further please.

It's the bit where you purposefully exaggerate your dislike while acknowledging the general excitement by others with a dismissive tone. Word choice.

Did the Japanese Direct or any of the IR papers mention a date for Fire Emblem 14? I wonder if they will target February in the West and try to recreate whatever happened to Awakening.

I hopewe get a couple new announcements. We usually do. Maybe CN replacement, tho I seriously am doubting that they actually will have a replacement for some reason heh.

Fire Emblem if is Summer 2015 for Japan and TBA for the everywhere else. They're probably not getting it out this year and know they had a good thing going with a Q1 release for Awakening.

I'd be sick if they announced the 4DS here, but it'll be at the next meeting as that's the Fiscal Year meeting, and they address it because it'd be relevant to it if they're releasing info, not just that it'll be out that year, since Wii U was announced at said meeting a year and a half prior to launch.

So in that case, I want some goddamn Wii U retail game announcements like back in 2010 and 2011 when The Last Story, Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and Pandora's Tower (oh and Rhythm Heaven Fever) were announced at the same meetings.

Please just ignore the troll guys. Were better than that.

I'm excited to see what comes of the meeting.

A 'we plan on reprinting all amiibo to meet demand would make my day.

They have already stated that there will be "another program" to replace CN. This directly connects to what Iwata talked about last year with rewarding loyal customers as part of their NNID platform initiative. I'm confident he'll at least briefly and vaguely touch on it. If not even go into more detail.

Was just sharing my opinion that I'm not intersted in the game but recognize others are and they want a release date so maybe it will be revealed.

People read way too far into my posts and add whatever nefarious ideas they have onto it. Not sure why but it continues to happen.

Maybe think harder and figure out that there is a pattern. Don't play victim. You already managed to derail this one successfully.

Nothing like that is going to happen.

Goku belongs on smash much more than snake does. there has been countless dragon ball z games on nintendo platforms.

surprised he hasnt made it though there are a lot more deserving of a place than snake.

I remember it being announced in a press release the day before the results briefing: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2011/110425_4e.pdf

It was mentioned in the earnings release though, and during the briefing: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/110426/05.html

Will Iwata give any updates to the research and development of their new consoles in terms of:

how they are going about the specs

central focus ideas (add more info about the brother sister aspect of console and handheld consoles)

Or maybe in general:

more partnerships for IPs like toys, tv shows, movies, etc

more game partnerships like with Bandai Namco with Project Treasure, Square, Level 5, etc

localization announcements?

I'm hoping we hear something about the Netflix Zelda myself. As I said in the other thread, a while slate of DC films were revealed at a WB investor meeting, it's certainly possible we'll hear something here.

Nintendo's ritual of telling investors "Be patient, guys," and the investors shaking their cash-filled claws with barely restrained impotent rage

From Gibson anyway. Hopefully someone else will provide live tweets. Shame Nintendo doesn't offer a webcast, that would be much easier (for everyone).

Why? These meetings aren't supposed to be public...they're for investors.

Many companies in the interactive entertainment industry provide webcasts of their financial briefings. Activision Blizzard, EA, Sony and Ubisoft, to name a few, do it.

I'm thinking we will get a tidbit of information on QOL; though the gist of it will most likely be discussed and explained at Q4.

Iwata will most likely tackle DLC figures (MK8) & digital growth + an update on IP licensing.

I think the big reveal will be that Nintendo is publishing Youkai Watch in Europe & America.

I'm hoping to hear some more on the QOL plans, confirmation that they are working on a new home console, and a bomb (Metroid or F-Zero) for 2016.

Personally, I don't think it would be that interesting to have an untranslated Japanese-speaking webcast. The translation in English of the Q&A appears on Nintendo's web site some day after the event.

That still doesn't mean that its an event for everyone.

They already confirmed this a long time ago.

It'd be nice if we got more info about their plans for a unified architecture across handhelds and home consoles, but I'm not holding my breath.
OK, maybe a little

QoL was discussed at great length at the October meeting. Personally, I'd like them to focus a bit more on non-QoL topics than they did in October.
