The Order 1886 | Impressions Thread of not shooting the messenger.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. What was your take on the general plot and the parts all characters played on it. If you can't answer that without spoilers then it's cool.

Do you close your eyes if a movie you're watching surprises you with nudity? Honest question.

No problem. I just turn away and wait till the scene is over. Been married 13 happy years.

The characters are one of the most human/grounded characters I've seen in gaming, the plot could've been better, but the characters and lore truly make the game, some characters stand out, some feel like GoT rejects, the VO for the characters goes beyond even ND levels, it's just exceptional. I disliked how the ending felt a bit
anti-climatic
, there's still a lot to resolve by the end of the story, and I think they might be hinting at a sequel/dlc.

Alright, great. Thanks.

Been watching a Twitch stream for this game for the past 20 minutes. Cutscene still hasn't ended, lmao. There was a break in which you walked forward in a hallway to another cutscene.

Did the streamer rush/"speedrun" to the next cutscene or did he soak in the atmosphere on his way to the next cutscene?

Just finished the game, if not for trophies I wouldn't play it again because I feel like I've experienced everything there is to experience in this game. Loved everything about the game, didn't really like the way it ended though.

Wow this is some great praise indeed! So like Uncharted, it's more a case of characters over story. Or at least because the end of The Order leaves a bit too much unanswered narrative wise (likely intentionally).

Here's a few screens I took; nothing spoilery. Trust me, I have plenty more lol, but I don't want to give anything away. Photo mode is gonna be narcotic for me.

Second image is beautiful, first is brutal lol.

I soaked in all the atmosphere I could get, died and repeated some sections multiple times for trophies and I still finished it in what felt like 6 hours at most, the game is pretty short but if you're fan of most Sony exclusives (ND/QD/SMS) you'll love this one too, I'd recommend waiting for the prices to go down if you feel like $60 is too much for a 6 hour game with no replay value.

Heh you actually answer seriously.

Really getting hyped up now.

The negativity really hasn't affected me. The game is about what I expected.
I suspected it was going to be FMV heavy going by what they have shown in the past (lots of cutscenes and very little gameplay). Well, from what I have seen of the gameplay it looks really really good, so I'll manage the cutscenes. It is still not as bad as Hideo Kojima. :P

Seriously? Rental it is then. Not going to spend 80$ for a game that's 8 hours long to put it back on my shelf to collect dust. At least if there was online multiplayer, I could justify spending the 80$.

$80? Where do you live? I don't think I'd even buy games at all if I had to pay that much.

I think it's kinda bullshit that you're apparently required to slowly walk in a circle 3 times around every room to be playing the right way.

This is the best thing I've heard about this game so far. I can forgive a lot plotwise(hell, I don't even need plot) if the characters and world are compelling.

Is the dong really bellow 5 inches? I was looking forward for this game, but now I'm just renting it at best. Its like they were trying hard to hide it, I don't think they ever mentioned how long it was.

Thanks for your impressions - but your whole post falls apart with the word "felt".

Unless you have an actual count of how long it took, this has no bearing on how long the actual game is. The "feeling" of how long something is is meaningless. The brain isnt good at counting long spans of time.

Besides, we all know how it feels when you play a game for what feels like twenty minutes - and when you check the time, two hours has gone past. Ive had plenty of experiences where I felt like a game was short then I see my play time and it's like 14 hours.

Why are we discussing length again anyway? It doesnt really have any bearing on how good or bad a game is.

Like some of the greatest novels in history are 130 pages long. You don't see people not buying them because they're short books. If your book is 500 pages long that doesnt make it better
hello GoT

Montreal, Quebec. $69.99 plus tax (about 15%) comes out to about 80$. I don't buy that many games anymore since I game mostly on PC now and buy games for way less than 80$.

Game just released in Singapore officially today. Feb 20th is a public holiday (Chinese new year) so they pushed the release date up to the the 17th. Just got my hands on it.

Ah, now it all makes sense. Just launched today where I live as well (the Philippines) and I was wondering why they moved the release date up... Chinese New Year is a public holiday over here as well.

I'm enjoying myself so far, cracked it open and played through to chapter 2 before turning in for the night. A little slow paced to begin with, but i'm finding the cover based shooting very enjoyable so far. Very atmospheric, this game has the steampunk vibe down pat.

Goddamnit ... I have mine ordered from Playasia (the asian version) and they keep giving me vague answers like we'll release it when we receive stock.

WHEN THE FUKK ARE U GETTING STOCK? I even asked them if they'd release it early due to CNY, but they never bothered answering that :(

Yes I am impatient and need this game.

hello GoT

I don't disagree with you, it might have been more but not significantly considering I died a lot and searched every area thoroughly.

Out of 10, what would you give it?? My mouse is hovering over the pre-order button and I'm waiting on that number man.

you really shouldn't need a number. His thoughts are listed here. You can't get nearly as much from a number as you can from his actual thoughts and seeing if his description is concerning or exciting to you.

Honestly I think Galahad causes more bodily damage than the lycans ever do throughout the game.

The Order: 1886 OT | Under 6 inches is average, right?! Soak in every inch.
