I really don't understand people who feel the need to take offense to numbers they don't agree with. I almost hope this game doesn't perform well critically just so we get more Uncharted 3 levels of meltdowns. I had no idea up until a week ago that The Order had any sort of following at all.

can we add robert florence's joke review please. i think it'll lighten things up a bit, and it make a good point about some of the more silly people out there.

This really wouldn't surprise me.

I expect around a 75 on Metacritic.

Day one regardless of reviews. Read some impressions in that other thread, seemed decent enough to me.

That Driveclub score is absolutely crazy bad for how top tier the game is. Agreed on Second Son tho. It felt the weakest out of all the Infamous games, despite more powers. SP best villain is still Kessler.
 
I'm far more hyped for this thread once the reviews hit than I am for the game itself. Thursday can't come soon enough!
 
High 70s or Low 80s. I'm calling it now.

I'm also calling more than 1 reviewer shitting because of what it's not, rather that what it is. Sadly, that seems to be the crux of all video game reviews nowadays.
 
This game will probably end up at around 65 on metacritic. Initial sales will be decent because of all the promotion, but legs will be extremely weak because the game has practically no replay value and is really short in the first place. I will be surprised if Sony will actually fund a sequel. There is a good chance that this will be Ready at Dawn's last console game.

Yes, people shouldn't be confused between "jeux video magazine" and "jeuxvideo.com" (which is solely a website), they're 2 different entities (not that either is particularly worthy of interest tbh).

Also, JeuxVideoMagazine is hosting a "master class" (public conference of some sorts) with the studio's co-founder on thursday evening in Paris, so I guess they're really confident that it's ok to post the review, they wouldn't want to piss him off so close to the event :P

I personally think it's the beginning of the end for the PS4. Hell, consoles everywhere.

That DC score is crazy weird for a lot of reasons. When the reviewers played it, it probably deserved higher. But if they had actually waited like they should have, it would have gotten even lower because of server things. And if they were to update their score (which, if we're keeping scores around, I wish more reviewers would do), it would probably be higher because of the many patches and improvements.

It's like can we take anyone's opinion seriously about this game now. We are claiming reviewers will be swayed by the craziness on gaff. Could other people be swayed to say they like it because they think it's getting a bad rap? It's all crazy over here

we should wait for a consensus, unless this one review is really good. Since i can't read french, and since no one here can really either since this is a north america forum, we should at least wait till another review pops up before passing judgment because no one can confirm if it's really good or not.

Far Cry 4 is 85 on PS4 and 82 on Xbone, but you're right it's more an exception.
 
haven't been keeping up with this game... but why is this such a hot game on gaf?

Just seems like your typical 'launch era game', pretty with standard safe gameplay. Is it just because it's ps4 exclusive?

Was Ryse a hot topic back then?

I wouldn't hope a game critically fails just to witness some silly reactions. That seems kind of selfish.

I just used the those examples to make a point that reviews are harsher thus gen than last. Of course there are games that broke 80 thus gen, it's just fewer than the same time last gen. No game on ps4 or One that isn't a rerelease has broken 90.
 
This is going to be one entertaining thread. It'll be interesting comparing reviews/thoughts to my own after I play the damn thing.
