The Order 1886 | Impressions Thread of not shooting the messenger.

Regarding replayability, wasn't there some sort of non fail state QTE's whereby the story could progress even if the QTE was failed but with a different outcome? I'm on mobile at the moment but I remember it was explained with some sort of knife scene. You could knock it out of his hand or not - anyone link it? Anyway, besides that the main point is that maybe there is some replayability in there of small details within the story.....?!?!

I'm sure it's possible I could get 10 to 12 hours out of it if I did it on hard. The question is, does it have replay value to go back through it again? I did with all of the Uncharted games.

For those people saying that it's short and sweet, why buy at full price when you can borrow, rent, or pay it forward? Especially those that say they are too busy for long games, can't you pretend it will come out later and play it for cheap? It's still "Day One" when you put it into your console.

Ummm... why? Some of us don't value our entertainment by the number of hours. It's all relative based on where you are in your life, what you are looking for in games and what you can afford

And some of us do. I always choose what movie I'm going to see by running time @ the theater. I also choose my books by weight.

Stop using logic damnit! We all you know are the 1% with your $70 dinners and fancy stouts

I am a happy man.

There's a certain threshold below which you would indeed do that. You wouldn't pay $15 to see a 30-minute movie. You wouldn't pay $15 for a 50-page novel.
You wouldn't shoot a policeman and steal his hat

Just preordered, I'll have to have it sitting on my desk while I'm waiting for work to end.

And no, for the sake of the order (huehue) of the thread, the OT title won't reference the game length. I had no idea people got so into making up clever subtitles for games. I even had to get a mod to change the title of my first OT (for Apotheon) because the QWOP reference was derailing the thread.

Good man. Curious, what OT title are you going with? I liked the ones with the lycan puns :P

That'll still be a surprise :P

What is camera bias? It's been metnioned a few times but I don't want to read through the whole thread to find out what it is.

Camera bias lets you switch the over-the-shouder view by pressing left or right on the touchpad (like pressing R3 (or is it L3?) in Uncharted games).

to support the developers? I have been following this game for some time and I dont think I will enjoy int any more with a smaller price tag . I want to see what RAD can do with a sequel so I will support them by paying full price.

Some don't, GTAV had terrible aim assist that just locked onto enemies. Took all the fun out of shooting.

I can't think of one. Its the very first thing I disable whenever I have the option.

GTA5 might have counted here but not any more since they patched in the ability to tweak the acceleration and deadzones.

It depends on how heavy handed the aim assist is for me. If it's subtle I don't mind it. It's the kind of thing I need to try for myself before I turn it off. Just wondering what the reasoning is for recommending it here.

Considering the recommendation was that others might want to turn off aim-assist to extend play-time, and not because the feature was causing problems with the gameplay, I don't see why it should matter.

Eh? People who played the game (OsirisBlack & Rapier) made those recommendations based on what they found enjoyable. Has nothing to do with length.
