Bobby, where can I get one of those dilettante dimple chairs, bro?
what interpretation of Luthor are they even going for there. I can't wait to see how Eisenberg plays that
Crazy how 10 years ago, the only big superhero movie property people was Spider-Man (maybe X-men if you're generous). Things really turned around with Batman Begins and Iron-Man.10 years ago we won't be having this conversation too. Love that Marvel have kickstated a justice league movie with aquaman =)
Unite the 7 is the final tagline? Who else is going to be in this movie confirmed so far? Man that's a lot of leg work.
I mean it's not that you can't have a movie with a large ensemble cast work well. But in order to have your audience suspend disbelief, it's nice to ease them into major concepts to give them time to breathe. Comic books inherently have a ton of bonkers concepts to work through, it's the nature of the beast. Which is why it's better to give them room to breathe
I mean if they are planning to introduce all this in this one movie, it's gonna be like 85% exposition. "And on yeah by the way there is a whole underwater society run by Aquaman, he controls fish in the sea. Oh shit and Wonder Woman definitely is an Amazon, there's political intrigue of all sorts there. She lives in an island nation hidden from rest of world." And if you really are gonna have the seven heroes in this one film, that's a whole shitload of stuff to introduce. Big concepts that just sound crazy to throw into the audiences face in one movie. You want the audience to slowly buy into this cinematic universe, it seems more like having a bucket of ice water poured on their head![]()
But that's why she needs to be in the League. An angry redhead water bender slicing through Parademons and drowning folks in midair is exactly the kind of hero we deserve.
Plus, it could force them to write Diana as being more peaceful to counter Mera aka how the fuck Diana is supposed to be written.

How hard is it to imagine or understand Superman being the domino effect that brings out all these superpowers? They were also introduced in a film with an inherently fantastical alien setting, in which the use of inherently fantastical alien characters requires minimal to no explanation.
A lot of people are talking as though BvS is set in the Incredibles universe, at least in terms of how unremarkable the existence of diverse superpowered beings should be. It's very weird, given how much some of them claim to love MoS, and yet they're apparently fine with the sequel being set in a radically different universe.

fixed that for you. image still has savage dragon and spawn anchoring it to its terrible origins
forcing these dudes to write multiple women with different personalities?

I'm not familiar enough with her other acting work, but she doesn't seem to have the appropriate muscular build. Still, I'm willing to let the jury rest on her... unless you start showing me youtube clips of her acting that leaves me concerned
What makes you worried about her? As I said, I'm not very familiar with her stuff. I know Jason's movies and TV stuff and he does strike me as a fine choice for Aquaman at least.
And turns out Thor still hasn't gotten a story worth a full movie, and yet, there's four hours of Thor movies that are just fucking sitting there.
Nothing about Thor in "The Avengers" couldn't have been gleaned from The Avengers. Hell, in hindsight, one could make the argument that it'd have been a much better bet to take Thor's solo movie slot and given it to Black Widow instead.
I'm cutting most of the rest of your long-winded shit because (weird concepts about Marvel's "respect for cinema" aside) it's basically just saying the same thing over and over again regarding "how things have to be done" and I just don't agree. These aren't obscure characters. There are films that come out EVERY MONTH featuring giant ensembles full of people you have NO CONCEPT OF until they're on the screen, and somehow you manage to roll with it, you can follow their story as it unfolds.
Nobody argues that The Grand Budapest Hotel should have had three movies of set-up so we can get an idea of how Gustav, Harvey Keitel, and Bill Murray's characters all came to be where they were when Zero first got a job.
You trying to tell me that the reason that was done was because Wes Anderson is somehow not CONFIDENT ENOUGH in his characters to give them full movies where they, say, wander around a backlot shouting bad shakespeare at giant fire-breathing tin cans? You telling me that somehow AQUAMAN is a complicated enough character that audiences need a two hour primer to get into him before he's introduced as a supporting character in a Superman/Batman movie?
Really?
They're brought up because the people bringing them up lack the imagination to concieve of a world in which something could possibly happen that they weren't able to predict from the comfort of an armchair molded perfectly to the dilettante dimples of their pontificating ass.
There's more than enough support for the idea that audiences are sophisticated enough to accept and understand what an Aquaman is in 10 minutes of story, and that you don't NEED to run 6 to 7 hours of setup for a film in which multiple superheroes are going to exist.
Hell, MARVEL ITSELF just proved this point last summer. Very successfully, I might add.
At least we made it about 3 pages before this dumbass Marvel vs DC taint started skidmarking the conversation.

Seriously, when's Mera?Who wouldn't want to see something like this on the big screen?

More "300" reallyBetween this pic and the Wonder Woman costume, anyone else getting a "Masters of the Universe" vibe?
Ehh, I don't see this as overdesigned. Not that many elements. Black and gold is a cool look.He looks terrible. Overdesigned, barely any color, and doesnt even resemble aquaman outside of the trident.
At least with Snyder navigating the DCCU ship, you know he's going to go over the top with the sea monsters Arthur has at his command. That's gonna be pretty rad.

More like Jason Nomoa of this guy because he's terrible.
Mostly the bolded. She does not resemble a warrior type in any way and she is also terrible at acting from what I have seen of her so far. Wonder Woman is supposed to look intimidating physically and somehow I doubt I can take Gal Gadot seriously in such a role. Hey as long as she fights like this in the movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPlSdns_n1E and does the move at :0:36 I will be less disappointed at least![]()
I'm thinking along the lines of the Secret Origins Luthor but crossed with Eisenberg's portrayal of Zuckerberg.
He'll be a fast talking, charismatic philanthropist to the people who secretly shows enormous anger and jealously of Superman.
I'm not sure how legit the rumors turned out to be (if they were debunked or not) but supposedly a lot of the back story was to be streamlined for an easier lift. Like Wonder Woman being a child of gods instead of born from clay (don't know if she's still Amazon in this) and Aquaman and Wonder Woman being related.
I'm sure it played a role but I'm not sure how much of an impact it made.
In general the trilogy did well OS but it never did as well as it's domestic pull.
Domestic: $1,189,849,975 (48.3%)
Overseas: $1,273,366,241 (51.7%)
The domestic total almost equaled the overseas total.

When I think overdesigned, I think of Darksiders.

You do realize the picture is in black and white, right?

lmao that was corny.
i wonder if they're still pursuing jeff nichols for this. would be a really interesting move but also much better than the flunky who made 300 2.
But let's be honest, that look would never get greenlit in Hollywood.
My biggest concern for Gal Gadot outside of her acting (which I've never actually seen) is not just her build but her height. 5'10" doesn't really scream "amazon goddess" to me :-(
I wish we had someone closer to this
But let's be honest, that look would never get greenlit in Hollywood.
Its not (at least entirely), since you can easily see that his face and his armor are not. I think theres tatoo work to make his chest seem grey which might be where you're getting the black and white vibes from. But yeah there's obviously a filter so I'll be optimistic that it'll be more colorful in the actual movie.

Both his arms are screwed in that drawing. Like his forearms rotate laterally at the elbow independent from wherever his biceps are going, as if the artist studied anatomy through crappy 80's action figures. What is wrong with his right arm?

Well she has been working out accordingly:
I think she will surprise a lot of people. I trust Zack Snyder in directing a good strong female character on screen.
