I trust Zack Snyder in directing a good strong female character on screen.

90s Aquaman FTW
As far as blockbusters go he has a pretty good record in my opinion. Both Queen Gorgo and Faora could handle their own and did not seem to need 'saving' from a male character.
TBut if you don't have the confidence in your characters to think it's worth establishing real narrative weight with them, that's an even bigger problem. The point is to make these characters worth a damn in the cinematic universe. That's what Marvel keeps doing, because they're taking their time. Honestly few people gave a shit about Guardians of the Galaxy before the films, just look out how popular they were. And now people are interested. If you do it right, you can make concepts that aren't particularly compelling on paper work well for film.
I love how his tattoos and armor are based on his real tattoo. Is it Maori style? Looks awesome.
Yes, and Guardians of the Galaxy didn't need a solo Star Lord movie, solo Gamora movie, solo Drax movie and solo Groot & Rocket movie. Each of those characters just appeared in the movie and made a team.
What is it with comic book movies that people are so afraid of of simply jumping in and going with the flow? No, you don't need a dozen of solo movies to introduce a team and the universe and you don't need yet another boring-ass origin story. You can easily establish a whole team and weird alien universes in a single movie and still be successful.
. Wonder Woman is supposed to look intimidating physically and somehow I doubt I can take Gal Gadot seriously in such a role.

No actress will ever be able to look physically intimidating when standing next to Cavill and Afflect.
That's all I see tooIt's Drogo with a spear...
