Response from Nintendo; better start saving because "MANY" amiibo waves to come :/

This doesn't really mean anything. Automated PR emails are not news.

It'd probably take Nintendo over 10 years to do an amiibo of every single pokemon.

I calculated that, counting all forms and Mega Evolutions but not shinies or Spinda alternate appearances, it would cost the best part of $12,000 to complete a Pokémon set.

If you don't want to spend money on them then don't buy them. That plan's working great for me.

Why stop, it prints money!
Give me a Waluigi/Daisy Amiibos, with Rolf and I'll be happy to spend my money...if it's not out of stock in 5 sec...

Plus the shiny versions. 1 out of every 1,000 figurines.
They already did that with that with the Wii U Pokemon Rumble game. Which I will point out were a lot cheaper than $15. They were also blind bags :(

Of course nobody remembers those because in America the distribution was roughly one crate for every 12 Gamestop stores and half of the crate was hilariously OP legendary Pokemon meant to go with the download code bundle.

Holy shit. Imagine an amiibo wave with every Spinda variation.

The only Pokemon amiibo I'm buying on pre-order is Mawile (and Mega Mawile if that happens), which is why I'm hoping it's playable in Pokken.

I remember :)

I hit the wall and am burnt out. Pretty sure I'm going to sell my 20-ish figures at this point. I'm a completest, if I can't have them all it'll just bug me, and I can't camp out at a retail location and I am not paying scalper prices for nearly every figure at this point.

Will use the probably $300+ I get from selling for either a PS4 or some more PC upgrade parts.

You're joking.

Please tell me you're joking.
Nov 5, 1999, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA: Attorney Frank Totti looks over papers while his client Frances Mountain sorts out Beanie Babies with her ex-husband Harold Mountain in Judge Gerald Hardcastle's Family Courtroom in Las Vegas November 5. The couple, who were divorced four months ago, were ordered to divide up the collection valued at $2,500 to $5000 but were unable to do so by themselves. The collection was ordered spread on the court floor and divided up one by one under the supervision of Family Court Judge Hardcastle.
Yeah...

Dear sir,
Please look at online and retail stores to buy Amiibos if you're having trouble finding them. We will keep making them.
Nintendo

But seriously, what's strange/unusual here? Are more Amiibos bad?

There are still several waves to go just to complete the Smash collection, not to mention the Mario Party set, so this PR email doesn't really say anything new.

Having said that, I'm really hoping for a small set dedicated to Zelda Wii U. It'd be cool if there were certain optional caves or whatever that are accessed by placing a statue on a platform -- that statue being the amiibo, of course :-)
