Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

The CRT filter has been clearly updated on that SNES app, looks way better, I think its the new filter used for N64 and gamecube
On GCN at least the CRT filter kills any resolution improvement though, WW is a lot jaggier once you turn it on which is disappointing three steps forward and two steps back :/.

(PNG screenshots taken on the Switch 2 and exported from it)

In the CRT filtered version the scanlines are not the ones causing the jaggies (zoom in a little bit and you will notice multiple scanlines for the same "step" / vertical row of pixels.

Not only that, but the image is still over darkened. With up to 4K rendering and HDR capability there should be a way to both not have an overly darkened image (render everything a bit brighter before you apply the filter) as well as not to lose that much on resolution gains you make if you enable the CRT filter.

"Handy Hockey" is getting a re-release on Switch 2 on July 31st. It was DSiWare game that only released in Japan in 2010. It'll support mouse controls and 120fps.

And it's cheap - £5.00 / $7.00 ($9 in Australia)

I use it. I have a receiver. What do you want to know?

Well I'm only looking to use this for Nintendo consoles. So I'm kind of looking for a starter kit of sorts. I would like to play Zelda and other supported titles in 5.1 surround sound even if that list is small. During the WiiU era and even during the early days of the Switch I've always kept my eyes open for a receiver that was labeled to support LPCM. I've always found it difficult to know which ones did and which one didn't. It seems like a feature that isn't really mentioned to be supported. You'll normally see Dolby stickers and such on the AV receiver but nothing that jumps out like an LPCM sticker. During that time I've had some receivers that where HDMI compatible but they didn't support LPCM. So basically what is the best way to spot one that does support current forms of LPCM in my case 5.1 and do they usually come bundled with drivers. When I bought my first receiver ages ago it seemed so much easier to just go to a brick and mortar store grab a bundle and then go home set it up and you were done.

LPCM is just an uncompressed sound format. Most if not every home theater device supports it or Dolby digital and I don't think the difference is material for the vast majority of people.

All real AV receivers should support LPCM, it's just the raw uncompressed bitstream sent from the source

Really need that rumored direct to manifest.

DK is awesome but Kirby isnt gonna cut it for the rest of the year.

Prime 4 will likely be the big Holiday title but what else? Theres the Prime 2 and 3 remasters that will likely come before Prime 4, but thats not enough honestly for a newly released system on a sales hot streak....

Pokemon is going to be huge during the holidays even with its October release. I've got a feeling a direct will arrive by September.

MK, DK, Kirby, Prime4, Pokemon...
That's not a bad first party lineup for just a little over half a year.

I got the invite to buy so I bought it.

Switch 2 and DK Bananza, will be playing through TOTK as well as it really did not perform well on Switch 1.

Enjoy man 😉
PS: there's also some sales on the eShop right now if you wanna grab something on the cheap.

in other news :
I really need an updated list for BC games with enhancements, there's just too much stuff that'll be better at a higher framerate and with a non shitty resolution.
Also, we need Prime 4 this year.

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is also out this Friday for 25 Eurodollars.

What actually happened to the news stories where people allegedly had their Switch 2 banned because the used Switch 1 game was duplicated?

Just pulled the trigger on the Satisfye Zengrip 2 bundle. 10% off on the home page with code Founder10. £75 to have it shipped to the UK.

All of the other grips have major flaws, including the Skull n Co (flawed clasp mechanism for the S2).

Can't compromise on comfort any more, hoping the Satisfye is as good as they say.

Hope you like the Satisfye, but I haven't seen any flaw in the Skull n Co clasp myself. It sits in there nice and secure

I got 1 main flaw with my playdate grip, it turns off the console when putting in its case, which is a bit annoying. Other than that, it is very nice to hold, and the extra cap on the joycon sticks are nice, feels way more confortable to play now.

I'm almost done with the main quest of Cyberpunk, it is really nice to see a AAA game runs like this on the system, I hope to see more games like this in today's direct.
