Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

Playing Cronos the New Dawn right now. Awesome game. But I discovered that it, at least right now, doesn't work well with the "switching" from docked to handheld. Yesterday I played docked and it felt very smooth, no issues at all, but when I took out the switch 2 today for some sweet handheld gaming I immediately noticed that the framerates started to tank in certain areas. I chalked it up to the game being more demanding when not docked but the more I played the worse it got. It got so bad I think the framerates were in the single digits and I said to myself it can't be this bad. So I closed the application and when I started the game again everything was back to being silky smooth. Hopefully Bloober fixes this in a future patch. I remember having this issue with certain games on Switch 1 when games were in sleep mode for a prolonged time.
These kinds of issues are often related to memory leaks. The good news is that they can be fixed through an update patch. Maybe leave a message on their Twitter account and hopefully they will address it soon (if they're not already in the process).

I have no issues so far with the storage. I delete games when needed. It doesn't take very long time to download them again. And games are still coming in rather low in file size. Cronos was only 18 gig and Star Wars Outlaws I think is around 20. So there is lots of space for a lot of games. I do plan to buy a 512gb micro sd card though when I have saved up some more money.

I don't really need a memory upgrade. I currently have six games on the Switch 2, which is more than I play. When I'm finished with a game, I delete it.

I don't see the point of a memory upgrade. :messenger_relieved:

So, Switch 2 bros, are you getting by with the internal memory, or have you upgraded? I added the 512 gb card and I think that's enough for me. I can delete games as needed.
I got the 256 GB Sandisk one Nintendo was selling with the system. I like to keep lots of games on the console (N64 + GCN + SNES + + NES + GB + GBA + Genesis/MD take a decent amount of storage too) and it is getting a bit difficult to manage.

Still, it is manageable so far and will see when they plan to get out with a decently priced 1 TB SD Express card as that would be the kind of decent upgrade I would want.

Same here. I don't upgrade memory on any console. I just have games installed that I'm currently playing or will play.

I'm still on the internal memory. On day one I ended up getting rid of a bunch demo/test stuff I was planning on keeping. I will get an express card at some point I don't need one right now. Every time I think I'll be able to go even longer on just the internal storage I'm reminded of game key cards which just suck to be honest. I went a long time with no SD card on Switch since actual physical games existed but man key card were a curve ball I wasn't expecting.

My problem was I wanted to buy a 512gb express card... But could only seem to get a 256gb one at launch......... Then I remembered the system comes with 256gb as well... So pretty much no need when I mainly buy first party Nintendo games physical.

I think a lot of people overlook that. It's so easy to re download software and your saves are all there. 256gb is more than enough.

Started playing Outlaws yesterday (like I don't have 75 games in my backlog already), game looks really great, minus the weird pop-in issue, especially in cutscenes. And the customisable extra buttons on the Pro controller is super convenient (since you have to use R3 to interact with the environment, and I don't know how long the stick will survive if I keep pressing it).

Yeah that's kinda how I use my PC at the moment having Gbit internet, almost any game takes no longer than 15 minutes to get downloaded. Doing that with the Switch 1s horrible networking capabilities though would've been painful with any larger games (thankfully they really weren't that big). All that being said I'm mainly physical just the same.

Ooo. Will remap later today. I felt like clicking my thumbstick was stupid for everything.

I don't know if it is common but I saw in my store Red Dead Redemption and GTA Trilogy re-released in a code in a box, with a red case, making me confused if there were Switch 2 versions or not (which they weren't)

I hope other companies won't do this stunt

Ooh very good idea. I don't have a pro controller yet but I do have a charging grip that can also remap to the grips. Will definitely be doing this the next time I boot the game up.

I've gotta be honest, if I had a Switch I'd probably pick up Madden. But I'd still rather play NFL 2K1 on Sega Dreamcast. If I had a copy of NFL 2K5 or All-Pro Football 2K8, I'd probably never leave my house, hah.
I'm more of a NFL blitz guy... I dont even play madden regularly lol.. tried it last night and I suck

Did they raise the price by 25% as well? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Anyone had issues with the lan port on the dock? Mine has stopped working, wifi is ok and the usb to lan adaptor works with the dock just not the lan port.

Just wondering if anyone else has issues with it and fixed it before I go through the hassle of trying to send it back for repair.

Unfortunately this has been happening with docks here and there. Happened to me. Others contacted Nintendo about it and they asked for the entire system including the dock. One person had their dock repaired and eventually the lan port failed again. I didn't send my dock in, I just used the lan adapter. What a shame.

Thanks for the response, sending in the full system to repair just the dock seems like an increased risk of something happening to al of it.

I bought that Lan adapter for the Wii, used it for the Wii U, Switch and now needing it for Switch 2, getting my moneys worth I guess :messenger_unamused:
