So much collusion.

Seriously gotta raise that budget tho. Feel like this is more a factor than bad writing or something. Ton's of good ideas that are not fully realized is what each episode of Try Fighters feels like.

Blame G-Reco.

I just realized that Lucas's strategy is literally RNG-based, like the water dude. What if he ended up in a field that is visible to everyone?

- Lucas Nemesis has been hyped up for ages as 'serious shit' but he wasn't really a contender. What was the point of the stupid stuff at the end of last episode where Sekai 'feels his power' if only leads to this outcome? He didn't take out a single Gunpla during his battle. It would have been far more interesting if Lucas was truly a better builder and fighter than the Gunpla Academy and all three of them had to work together to take him out and they only just managed to pull it off. Instead they barely broke a sweat.

More or less feel the exact same way, thought the repair bots were really lame. It would have fit better into what likely should be the theme of this series 'teamwork' if it took all three of the Gundam academy to take him down.

One of the larger problems I see with this format is the groups rarely work as a team. The Jobber schools all have these really advanced tactics and are undone by the power of love or just punching hard.

Maybe i'm getting old but I would appreciate more time spent to these kids training. In season one you at least had Felini training Reji to make him a better pilot. In this series it seems like all the people that work really hard and are showing advanced tactics get wrecked by DBZ style attacks that come out of no where. It doesn't feel like anyone is actually earning wins.

Sucks that Lucas just served the same purpose of the English dude from the first season. Sorely disappointed but I should have expected nothing less from this series. Whelp, all I can hope for is another round of high quality fights similar to the one from this episode. Such a shitty cast of characters.

This show finds new ways to be utter shit every episode.

Transient Burst? Holy fuck. What was the entire point of Junya if Wilfrid's going to know Sekai's moves, too?

Fucking telegraphed win, too.

Christ.

Lord this fight is still just as hype as I remember it <3 <3 <3

to be fair, that fight is better than any other in the first season too.

I just realized that Lucas's strategy is literally RNG-based, like the water dude. What if he ended up in a field that is visible to everyone?

But there are any fields that are just completely empty? I think each one has some environmental obstacles to hide in or behind (buildings, trees, mountains, asteroids, colonies, etc.).

If my theory that Lucas = C9.EternalEnvy still holds, it means that if he got a field other than sky he would've just told his team to immediately attempt a level 1 Rosh

Sorry I'll stop with the DOTA references

C'mon Bandai give me my Gundam MOBA!

It would've been more convincing if Crossbone would've atleast destroyed one of gunpla academy's suits. Having him just fight a bunch of them to stalemate and not accomplish anything with his strategy other than being annoying just makes him look like a dumb tryhard.

I think what really undermines the whole Lucas thing is that he's the Euro Champ, meaning the battle literally held no meaning to him. He'd be at the tournament win or lose.

The crowd clearly saw what Lucas was doing and made too much noise, totally ruining his plan. That's why you don't pull that stuff in front of a live audience, should have saved it for a LAN event.

Why don't more tournament shows do Pure Swiss or Modified Swiss tournaments? Let's the protagonists actually lose/draw sometimes and still make it to the finals.

A double elimination bracket, or something of the sort, would surely make sense here.

Made you wonder if the players have filtered noises or some shit, since even the enemy that "disrupted communications" you'd think the characters could talk to each other since they're just standing beside one another

Well, in a 1v1 setting, Lucas probably would have won that, heh against any of the Gunpla Academy folks but 3v3 with 2 jobbers backing him up really didn't help.

What was more odd was how Allan couldn't tell what was going on from outside the field.

Many many episodes suggest that being inside a cockpit blocks any outside information

It seems like pilots on opposite teams are frequently communicating with each other, and I have a hard time deciding if it's either just them yelling stuff out coincidentally, some sort of shounen communication, or are they just BM-ing in all chat at a LAN event.

I really hope it's the latter

I don't think it was even really said what Transient Burst is other than being "wings to the future" (err, ok). The point of the Junya battle was to match Sekai with someone who also knows Jigen Haoh and does them better, to take that crutch away.

Right, but if we're dumping Sekai's moves into Wilfrid, why bother already doing the "I know your moves" thing? And no way Transient Burst isn't meant to be some parallel of Burning Burst. It's right in the name.

Apparently Gundam Build Fighters Try is getting a sequel.

Considering we're almost done and this shit hasn't even reached the world tourney I kinda figured.

It wouldn't surprise me considering that this entire season has been dedicated to the Under 19 Gunpla for Babies league, however it would sadden me.

Yes but we'd see Sei, Fellini and co again.

And then they'd get butchered by shoddy writing and oh god I'm saddened as well now.

You guys will be here for the 3rd season as well, don't even TRY to front!

And yeah bring on Season 3. GBF Try was flawed but enjoyable and I would love for some older cast members to return.

I just hope it's 1v1. It's clear no one on this show can write team battles convincingly.

I'd also love to see how crazy and tricked out the gundams are at the international level. We went from plavsky charged punching to SD with Real Mode and Saint Seiya magic kung fu.

The Build Strike is probably cray cray now.

Seriously Ep 21 was the best fight in the whole damned series. For the most part all the shit that involves Sekai + Build Burning has been massive snoozefest fail.

This was the fight we all deserved.

Open/World tourney all over my face. Hell, bring back Mao for some satellite shenanigans. Also Luang Dallara. Abigorbine didn't get its just due. Best non-Gundam in BF (sorry Cube Papi).

Should hopefully have a better budget assuming there isn't another Gundam show showing in conjunction with it.

Pls let the sequel be called GBF Try Hard.

Sei and Fellini are safe off the screen.

The last thing we need are more vets sucking Gunpla Gakuen off.

"oh wow look how cool this team of two Exias and a bucket of angst are! Not like that fucktard with the three-part Super Robot ZZ Gundam. I mean Jesus, how dumb can you get? Everybody knows nothing sucks more than ZZ and Super Robots. Now that Yuuma kid and his highly original not-a-Zeta-Gundam, that's where it is at! Well, it would be if it was also an Exia."

Fucking Exia.

As boring as it is to end 90% of the fights with some Jigen Haoh thing, at least it looks more interesting than Sei just Build Knuckling over and over again.

You will never escape 00. You can take Exia out of 00 but you can't take 00 out of Exia.

whatever you haters, more fumina and gyanko waifu for the rest of us

I'm glad for you, because there certainly won't be more Fumina and Gyanko screen time in the show. One's a cheerleader in her own team and the other's literally been sidelined for episodes.

People might complain less if Gyanko and Fumina's rivalry had remained a thing.

Exia is okay. Dark Matter is okay.

But holy shit why does the main rival of the second season have to have an Exia when the main rival of last season did

and why does his sister need one too

Leaked script of S3:

YUUMA is challenging SEI to a 1v1 Gunpla Battle to compare their abilities as builders through the performance of their Gunpla.

SEI (Internally)
I might've been his mentor when he was a kid, but I shouldn't underestimate him. After all, he did win the Artistic Gunpla Contest when he was only 16!
