Watching this footage FF is so backward in many ways. Would it be so hard to implement actual physical damage on the enemies and have them fall apart when they die? For a game that's taken so much development time, you'd think they'd have it all sorted. But no, we still only got pretty sparks coming from all enemies who receive damage.

Have you seen the androids? They lose parts of their armour as they lose HP. You're not going to see actual gore during battle in a mainline FF because of rating restrictions, but they do have fake blood as an indicator.

And this game hasn't nearly been in development for 9 years. It's been in active development for this generation of consoles since 2012.

Ah, I haven't been keeping up with the narrative bits. I recall the urban environments from the tech demos, I guess I'm just more upset that every clearing has basically looked the same.

Uh yeah, that would actually be pretty damn hard, considering this is a JRPG and likely has an expansive and diverse bestiary.

Also, GOSH am I really gonna have to buy Type-0 just to get a taste of this game?! I really don't want to. I can see a bunch of people selling the demo on eBay for a pretty penny.
 
While the gameplay still doesn't have me completely sold, I gotta say that I really love the "hanging with the bros" vibe this game seems to have so far. If that stays a major theme of the game, I'm gonna definitely have to pick it up.
 
Are there plans to release a HQ version of this trailer? Would be great to see it get the proper Gamersyde treatment.
 
First thought on that segment with Noctis walking into the shop with Gladolius at the counter was

"can I borrow some gil, bro"

Cause it ain't a really real buddy system unless one of them broke and asks to be spotted
 
A game that appreciate broship. God if only there was co-op so me and my bros can play together but I guess we will just pass each other the controller when one of us dies.

Edit: The final boss will be beat by utilizing all of your bros in one long combo. Then you all will be inducted into the fraternity of your choice.
 
Wake me up when they release the launch trailer.

I hope there's some jokey little conversations between them. Like when you enter the shop Noctis tells Gladiolus, "So you gonna finally buy a shirt that fits you?" "Fuck you Noctis." lol
 
Hopefully there are some kind of costumes you can switch to; hiking in the woods wearing designer clothes just doesn't jive with me.

During that 40 minute demo presentation they confirmed that the dropship patrol soldiers are robots. That does make me wonder if they are going to attempt to pull a Tales of Abyss and not have you "kill" any humans for a few hours only to make the first time you take a life count?

I can't name any game with better ingame mocap than this. Seriously. I'm really not a fan of the combat system but the story, graphics, characters, music and overall attention to details all look outstanding so far.
 
So in past FF titles you would make your way through the game and people would join your party. In FFXV it seems like all we get are the 'bros'. Has there been any word on different people joining your party throughout the game? I just don't see many people talking about this yet.
