That price is competitive with the Yoga 3 Pro and Surface Pro 3, which are similairly specced.

Check the processors and the pen input functionality. You get way more out of the Pro 3, and I'm sure the Pro 4 will bring improvements too.

A lot of those friend to friend things were taken care of with an app called couple aimed at long distance relationships. There was even a kickstarter for a tactile wrist band which you could touch and vibrate your partners wrist. Interesting that they're going with that and consolidating those features. They might seem silly to some but there's deffo a market for this sort of stuff.

The processors for the 15" Pro haven't been updated yet. Intel is going to release them during the summer/fall. So I expect the 15" Pros to be updated then.

Quad core Broadwell is not out yet, it would be weird to update the 15" to the Forcepad but no new cpu and gpu.
