Yeah, it may be disappointing for some, but this is accurate. Goodwill is NOT there to provide you with video games for $2 a pop. They're there to help people with the proceeds they make. If they can sell that game for like $30, all the power to them.
And, in general, if anyone is looking to get into retro gaming... I would say that 'now' is ALWAYS the time to buy. A lot of people like to sort of say, "No, now is the time to buy Xbox games because they're still going for cheap", and as true as that may be, that completely misses MY point.
Just go to price charting and look at the graph for any given game. The prices are going up, and up, and up, and it's never going to change. Games will only CONTINUE to increase in price as demand rises. There may be minor dips throughout any given year, but the 'big picture' is always going to be 'wait longer, pay more'.
Many of us missed the boat at being able to pick up real gems for a steal at yard sales or good will. But that's our fault, really.
