Oh he's always OP. Always.

But the plan...the plan is mind blowing
okay not really but it's cool as fuck to see it come together

Yeah, but that is part of the fun, like that early guy who thought he was hot shit until Alucard started teasing him "regrow your limbs, summon your familiars, transform, and so and so" and the poor guy was scared as shit when he realized he was like an ant to Alucard lol

I"ll keep watching ultimate then, it looks like the best parts are yet to come

Aizen
Juha Bach
The Millennium Earl (D Grey-Man) I miss this manga :(
Alexander Anderson (Hellsing)
Medusa (Soul Eater) Best female villain ever.
Ryofui (Kingdom)

I saw this coming. This guy is the Marty Stu of villains.

LOL, you pick Nagato, Madara and Enel, and you call Aizen a Marty stu of villains? My god, the irony, she kills me. You did not even pick the only good Naruto villain, which is Orochimaru pre time skip.

Lust from Full Metal Alchemist. The show is full of great villains and she is my fave.

Lust

I liked Doflamingo Donquixote more before it was shown that he was an entitled little brat as a kid. I don't want him to have a tragic backstory, but it makes him less likable being so annoying as a kid. Don't know how many people feel that way about that guy.

No one is worse than this guy from "Berserk". Don't really want to mention his name just so you can experience what leads up to the "Eclipse"

Pretty much this....

By any metric you wanna use, this guy tops just about anybody you stack him up against.

Tragic origin story? Check.

Powerful as FUCK? CHECK.

Most evilest and unspeakable shit done by any one motherfucker? CHECK!!!!!

Vicious from Cowboy Bebop. We get just enough back story about him that makes him interesting. He's cold and absolutely emotionless. And he's the only guy who will take a sword to a gun fight and win.

"And you will shed tears of scarlet."

throwing my hat in w/ the femto crowd

i like a fair number of shows more than berserk, but no single character in any show i've watched is nearly as reprehensible or easy to hate

honorable mentions include johan from monster and envy from fullmetal alchemist (the first anime, not brotherhood; despite the show's other failings, i thought envy was great)

But I also really like Squealer in From the New World because he so powerfully brings out the conflicts of the setting in a way that makes him both loathsome, tragic, and entirely understandable.

ugh squealer! yes ofc !

im soooooooooo with you on that one ... such a complex and harrowing character. aaaaaaa

I immediately thought of Squealer when I saw this topic. He's not badass, he's not good looking (hell, he's a
human genetically modified to look like a naked mole rat
), he never gets into a one-on-one fight. He's a manipulative bastard, and the way he's written really drives home the true nature of the villages.

Let's have some naked mole rat in the middle of all this bishounen:

I wasn't sure about Femto for a while.

Berserk spoilers
A significant portion of the Golden Age arc is setting up for Griffith to be physically and emotionally broken so the God Hand can goad him into agreeing to the sacrifice. Deliberately letting all of his soldiers die is a little out of character, but since he has the whole "my dream is everything" mantra, it still makes sense. The whole rape thing though, was so thoroughly heinous and served no purpose other than to spite Guts. Griffith has always been practical and unemotional, so doing something so petty, "I'm going to do this because fuck you Guts or something" is too much. So I wasn't sure what the author was trying to say. Griffith isn't "simply" a megalomaniac, he's a petty asshole? I don't know. The rape scene is gross and I feel like it ruins Griffith's ambiguity.

Isn't the rape scene supposed to be him having lost what little humanity was left after becoming Femto? Only seen the anime, so not sure if the manga explains that more.

all day ^ he
looked him in the eyes the whole time for petes sake
and a real close second would have to be the previous capabilities of teenage angst/hormones/etcetc.

It seemed that way, until
he regains his human form later and shows no remorse when he talks to Guts and Rickert. So it's not clear if the original Griffith is gone or if Femto is still Griffith with a demonic body. I just sort of assumed it was the same as the Apostles, where they have their memories and parts of their personality, but no qualms about doing horrible shit. So you can hate Femto, because he's an asshole, but he's not the Griffith from the Golden Age. Or something. Or maybe he is?

*OP picks villain from Naruto*

*it's not Orochimaru*

Anyway, Oro is the GOAT.

Even his laugh in the Sarutobi fight still gives me chills.

Yeah, he's awesome.

MAJOR SERIES SPOILERS
I was so happy he survived for the entire series. I remember watching the Chuunin Exam arc and thinking this guy was so charismatic and creepy. That voice, those snake themed abilities, his costly but surprisingly effective quest for immortality... Orochimaru's whole aesthetic really worked for me. There are some characters I instantly get attached to, and Orochimaru was the first and only Naruto character to grab me like that.

I love the trope of enemies becoming tenuous allies. Orochimaru's ties to other key characters made it especially enjoyable when he decided to be helpful for a change.
