So mobile game I guess?
unreal 4? doubtful.

Madden is not relevant AT ALL but it is a name...and Joe Montana football has memories for 30yo and older gamers who buy a lot of Madden games. the cover boy will undoubtedly be current/relevant.
If it's real... I hope, I hope
It's Unreal. Dogs, trees, old ladies and nachos will ALL be ripped!Joe Montana was also never that ripped.
Should that new picture get its own thread? I think that is the first true in-game picture.

No NFL license would never sell...All-Pro Football 2K8 proved that. It literally hit bargain bins less than two weeks after launch.
If it's not using NFL rosters, I want some serious effort put into draft class generation. I absolutely love the idea of starting an online league with a fantasy draft full of completely unknown players.
unreal 4? doubtful.
at $60 it won't. This thing will be DOA if they try to go head to head with Madden at $60.
No NFL license is a pass for me.

Yup.No NFL license is a pass for me.
NFL2K had the license and it literally hit the bargain bin on release day.
If it is on PC then isn't there hope that it could be modded to replicate the NFL anyway?

It debuted at $19.99 and scared the *BLEEP* out of EA, which then bought the NFL license to kill all competition.
I agree. That's why I rooted for Backbreaker but just couldn't get into it. I wish someone would make a fully customizable Tecmo Super Bowl. No license needed. No NFL license would make me way more interested. That way the NFL can't step in with its no fun allowed BS. A football game isn't fun to me if necks aren't snapping and testicles aren't exploding.
Well their's also the talk that the NFL didn't like having a "discount" version of their product and put the license exclusivity up for the highest bidder (which happened to be EA)..
If it is on PC then isn't there hope that it could be modded to replicate the NFL anyway?
UE4 is on Android and iOS and that pic doesn't look good.
Definitely, look at some of the NBA 2K mods on PC, user created content on PC could be great for this game.
Hell I think Madden 08 is still going strong because of the mods.
They should use the fictional teams from The Replacements or Any Given Sunday. That would be something.
More than anything this game needs something to compete with mut.
Doesn't change the fact that NFL2K released at bargain bin prices on day one, which I'm sure the NFL loved. They rightfully see themselves as a premium league, and 2K's price war with EA cheapened their product.Nonsense. NFL2K's sales success is what caused EA to panic and overpay for the exclusive licenses. EA was so afraid they did the only thing they could to put their competition out of business. And us consumers have suffered the last 11 years as a result.
If they just released a solid football game with great gameplay and mechanics, then slap a Forza-style editor on top of it where everything is just "layers", then do it. Let the community do the work for nothing. You'll have every NFL team made with full 53 man rosters and accurate pads and accessories within 24 hours of the games release. Add in unlimited player customization (NOT the bullshit "Bronze/Silver/Gold" management of All-Pro Football 2K8) and you've done what everyone is clamoring for.
Like the example above about wrestling games, just give us the foundation of a great game version of the sport and let the community do the heavy lifting when it comes to customization.
Just give us NFL Blitz wtf
they tried that a couple years back and the NFL made them dumb it down so much that it was no longer NFL blitz
