Kojima will no longer be a Konami executive from April 1st + KojiPro is no more?

I'm legitimately concerned now, do you think this will be swept under the rug and we'll get zero information on what has happened or will Kojima speak out soon?

Keighley should get him on his next podcast for an hour.

I can't believe this is happening :(

I'd be cool with Kojima joining Nintendo. His talent as a game designer combined with Nintendo's philosophy towards gaming could allow for some wonderful things.

From a corporate perspective losing "Kojima Productions" as a brand doesn't have any pro's. By this point is it an established studio with a following. This thing needs a press release. Stat.

The story for mgsv must be even more stupid and wasting of Konami's money for voice actors than I thought. Konami finally saw it in action and just couldn't stand having a storyteller like kojima creating games. Cut him out completely

The delusion is strong in this one. You cannot honestly believe that Konami is fed up with Kojima because he's gone too far. If they were, they would have done this a long time ago.

Imagine if Kojima joined Platinum, it probably doesn't even make sense but it would be amazing.

Kojima's main project in QA stages, so he's not fully going at it. Lots of free time. Creative man. Comes up with some crazy marketing idea that is along the lines of his latest project.

That might be the case. Especially as Hideo loves this kind of stuff.

But obviously pure speculation. Either way, definitely got me interested.

Could be a Sakurai situation as in, he no longer works as Nintendo employee, but he still works as director of Smash Bros as a freelancer.

The big question is what is happening with Kojima Productions though. I think all the other stuff is less important. If Kojima Productions in Tokyo is being disbanded, what happens to the staff? Were there layoffs? What's the future development outlook within Konami? What will happen to games which Kojima Productions were developing in pre-production? What will Konami LA Studio work on now? These are the important questions.

It seems like KojiPro is dead.

Unfortunate. This might actually spell doom for the franchise. No Kojima. No MGS :o

I think the worst part of a possible Kojima Productions shutting down is what happens with Fox Engine after having spent so long developing it and how useful it would be for future projects. It just stays at Konami? Er..........

rather that if he worked at Sony if only because i'd like to see what he would do with VR.

He's more of a cultural fit with Sony anyway. I don't really see Nintendo accepting pitches along the lines of Metal Gear Solid or PT. But yeah, I'm sure he could do amazing shit with VR.

I'm sure he'll get work if he wants it, at pretty much anywhere he wants to. I just want to know what's up with his credits and Silent Hills.

True, I didn't think about KP LA. The studio is basically newbown.

A KojiPro disbanding could meant basically Konami giving up console development.
