haha. well, thatd be unfortunate, really. im not going to a store to find these things.
 
Talked with the assistant store manager at my local Wal-Mart and was assured that the person working in electronics at midnight tonight would know about the Gold Mario Amiibos and would sell them 1 per person. Now I just have to decide when to line up. I could go as early as 6pm after I get off work, but surely I don't need to line up that early, right? ...right?

You should be there at 5 PM. Or right now. I'm sure there are people lining up. I'm tempted to go to a Walmart and see if there's anyone lining up.

I wonder when we will get our shipment notifications for Gold Mario from Wal Mart?

They have ready shipped the other SMB Amiibo to people. So no matter what it will ship separately, people reporting orders put in with Gold Mario and Toad have Toad already shipped.

I have a hunch Gold Mario pre order shipping notifications will go out sometime today.
 
I dont really cherish the thought of having to fight the crowds again for these things but all we need for the original Smash roster is Ness...and it will be spring.
 
GameStop just called me about Toad. Better get right down there before they sell it to someone else like they did with one of my Dededes.

No wave 4 info yet huh? Probably at this point NoA will just skip it to wave 5 with just R.O.B. as a Radioshack exclusive and Zero Suit Samus as a Victoria's Secret exclusive. Thank rEggie.

You know the fact that NWS still has Shulk, Rosie, Lucario and even Meta Knight leads me to believe what I previously suspected about these "exclusives"; they were timed exclusives.

Those 4 should wind up being available at every retailer some time in the future.

Or that NWS has all of NA's stock because they can post "HEY WE HAVE THEY NEW AMIIBO TOMORROW" on Twitter like ten times a month. >_>

Yeah same, I'm trading off my doubles x ones I didn't want away cause I was going to go for every character but when you need luck it gets annoying
I do love my amiibo trade for N3DS Zelda system though <3 best decision

Also new york Nintendo world store makes me :/ such bs , I'm pretty sure the same people go every tweet to buy them up

Of course, I couldn't get my preordered Toad from GameStop because they can't sell it until tomorrow. Would have been nice if they told me that over the phone earlier.

On top of that, I couldn't use a $5 off ANY GameStop item coupon because it can't go towards reserves, whatever the fuck that means. When I pick it up tomorrow, pending they don't sell it to someone else, I'm going to have them cancel my reservation and buy it normally.

This all happened over the course of 10-15 minutes, while the woman working was chatting on her mobile phone. I'm done with this location. The people who work here are sub-human.
 
I'm actually going to New York City for the weekend. A little trip with my friends. Nintendo World is always a necessary stop whenever I'm in that area. I wonder if they'll have any Amiibo that I'm willing to impulse purchase.

word has it some were selling early and using other amiibo sku's to get around the checkout system. i guess the walmarts want this craze to be over with.

Finally caved and picked up my very first Amiibo. I went with Toon Link, and I purchased it off of Amazon for around $12.90 w/ free shipping. I went with Toon Link vs. Link because he looks more stable, plus he has less of that support plastic (yellow rod for Link). But most importantly Toon Link works with Mario Kart 8 and I want to get the Spinner in Hyrule Warriors. Plus, when Zelda Wii U comes out later this year I'm sure he'll have a purpose there too.
