BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Have you tried the threaded cane? If yes, how does it compare to the cleaver?
I have no clue where to find it! The weapons seem incredibly hard to find. Only main hand weapons I have are Cleaver, Saw Spear (which someone in the thread told me where it was), Kirkhammer, and Ludwig's Holy Blade. The last two I bought from the merchant in the Hunter's Dream.

Edit: or was that one of the starting weapons you could choose? I recall there being a cane. I picked the cleaver and haven't found the other two weapons yet.

Yes, its one of the starting weapons and scales with Skill i think. It should also be available at the shop after beating the 2nd or 3rd boss

I've seen a couple folks saying they are sad that some bosses seem too easy: One great thing about Souls games (and BB too) is that you can choose your own difficulty by how much your upgrade your character. So if you were underwhelmed by how fast a boss died to a later-game boss, you can set your own level limit and try the boss with a weaker character. The game lets you set your own difficulty.

One of my favorite things to do in Dark Souls is to do invasions in Anor Londo with my SL1 character.

Ugh, I'm totally lost. Cleric beast done, been down to the sewers, have no clue where to go next. Anyone?

Try the shortcut you should''ve opened by the starting lamp and go down instead of into the house.

Also watching a guy try playing with a
wooden shield. It blocks nothing!

Ok, slightly off topic, but do not have a Bloodborne OT to post it in yet; I played Demons Soul and Dark Souls 1&2, but never in co op. Now that I have buddies getting Bloodborne to co op with I was wondering if level matters when summoning? Like, if I am at level 20 and they try to summon me in a level 10ish area can it be done?

Is that right about the bosses being too easy. Well easy in comparison to the souls games?

I think it's people losing their grounding in terms of what's easy and what's difficult in this series. If you played and beat game 1, which was already difficult, then you expect more difficulty in game 2. Then if game 2 gets harder, it becomes even more difficult for people who've never played game 1, but it needs to have those people in mind from the start as well.

Some of us have played 3 games in this series, and the fourth is about equal in difficulty, without really increasing or decreasing, so it's natural that it will feel easier when what you crave is a bigger challenge (that would be just too insurmountable for people new to the series).

That puts my mind at rest actually guys as I found plenty of bosses a nightmare on the other souls games. So if this is just on parity I'm happy with that. I've finished the other souls games but I'm no uber player.

Having spent too many hours to count across the series, I'm fine with the difficulty remaining where it's at. Not because I'm afraid of something more challenging, but because I don't feel like I really need it. What I need is gameplay that's not too easy, addictive combat and engrossing environments and enemy designs. As much praise as the Dark Souls 2 DLC gets, there's still something that feels entirely "off" about the damage sponge enemies that do ridiculous damage per hit. It's obviously meant for closer to end game, or those who have already finished, but it doesn't feel very balanced compared to the already inconsistent main game.

Sorry if this has been asked, I dug through a number of pages looking... if two people are playing coop/wingman, is character and game progress saved for both players?

Does anyone know if there are NPC summons? Not talking about those you seem to come across in the game world, but more like a summon near a boss fight etc. Can you differentiate between an NPC summon and a real player using the bell? I'm not entirely clear on the COOP aspect of things.

If it is like other Souls games, then progress is only saved in the host world. The coop summon will still get some type of reward for helping, but nothing changes in their own world. Coop is intended to be transient and limited, there isn't a traditional Coop mode to play through together.

i would like to know this aswell :P

Was it ever determined how you get the
scythe
? (weapon spoiler)

That's the first thing you get in NG+

I thought people were saying you could find it in NG?

There's a reddit post which states that
the final boss drops it and it's the first thing you get in NG+ Scythe is love Scythe is life

No, that's not how it works. Each of you has your own game. Your buddy can come into your game for example and visit, but it doesnt affect his progess at all. He may get some money or even items, but no progress in his own game. He would have ot invite you into his if he needs help. You basically have to do everything twice if you are playign together the whole time.

any streams that are no too far in the game right now ?

I could get a copy for 70 € today, but no. I have also preordered it on PSN. The thing is, the money is already on the account so if I would buy physical, I had to sell it on tuesday, I would at least lose 20 € for playing 3 days early.

should I do it ?

Edit: They don't have it. Well.

Haven't been in this thread since I said I was out, but it's pushed me into preordering a Ps4 and Bloodborne for next week.

Sony be damned.

The game has English audio only. Only the text will be German. And if you're still bothered by the German text you can set your system language to English.

So for those of us going digital. Is the day one patch included in the pre load or is it additional once the game is ready.

Hey guys!

Getting closer than ever now...!

Did I miss anything the past 10 hours?

I've ordered the NA version (I'm uk based) so this starts pre loading tomorrow doesn't it and unlocks Monday 11pm US time? If that's the case it will be ready for me Tuesday :)

Could someone PLEASE link me to a high quality VOD from the start of a stream (before Cleric boss)?

I want to watch MORE BLOODBORNE but don't want to see past #2 boss.
