ARROW Season 3 |OT| Welcome to the New Age

this season is trying to hard to serve batman, but it's just a lot of
1.0

They're leaning way too hard into Ollie's similarities to Batman while giving us nothing that made him unique over time in the comics.

She's confirmed for the spinoff.

Could also involve time travel, Elseworlds, cloning, or even a Black Lantern version of Sarah. There could be a shape shifting character taking her identity because she's not legally dead. There's plenty of tricks in the DC universe that could bring back Caity Lotz with Sarah still being dead. Until we know what the new show is, its hard to make that call.

I think Barry is gonna permanently mess up the timeline leading to Caity no longer being dead and a bunch of other stuff that hopefully makes arrow better next season (slade uncured?)

The best way for them to bring Caity back is to somehow tie it in with
Malcolm and Oliver both surviving death as well. That could really tie the whole series together.

Is that nanda parbit in the neighborhood or what? Feels like they just move to and fro in matter of seconds.

Caity's going to be the Arrow-verse version of Jason Todd. Calling it.

I just noticed in that scene where Ra's is impersonating the Arrow, he's wearing the same jacket that was made by those geniuses at Star Labs. How?

Nyssa going for that Oliver Queen Xbox achievement of banging both Lance sisters.

Oh god...

"cerealkillerita asked:
Is there any hope for Lauryssa (laurel+nyssa)? It is a bit of a reach, I know, but unfortunately for me I ship everything that smiles and breathes at each other. I love everything you do!

Thanks! I think you’ll enjoy Ep. 3x21."

It would also be an excellent chance to retcon Superman and Supergirl into this universe. Barry travels back, fails to save his mom but is outed publically. It inspires Clark Kent to come out of the woodworks and be a hero. Barry's dad never goes to jail so he doesn't get adopted by Joe. Whatever happened to his wife, never happens. They stay together and Iris gets a brother, Wally. By influence of the existence of The Flash and Superman Malcolm gets thrown into supervillain jail, meaning he never kills Sara.

Just because it looks like it, does not mean that it is. He was a prisoner for a bit they could have taken pictures lol.

Ugh, I wish you never said this, now I expect this to happen. :/

What about when Sara comes back and you get the Lance cracker action with the creamy Nyssa center.

I've always rooted for Malcolm though. He's always sat in that place between not so evil and not so good for me. I mean sure there's the whole Undertaking nonsense but the show tried to make us sympathize with him a bit there cause of the whole his wife getting killed and everything. He was never 100% a bad guy. Not to mention as a character he's always seemed pretty cool so it wasn't hard to like him.

The whole Sarah/Thea thing though, yeah that kinda makes him a bad guy and harder to root for. That was a dumb plot point that the writers just threw in out of nowhere.
Seriously? He was always a villain.
-He was an assassin, and therefore directly killed a lot of people. Including Robert Queen
-Class-based mass murder by causing an earthquake
-Indirect murder of his son
-Manipulation of his daughter in order to kill Sara Lance

Let's see...definitely rooting for him. He was always 100% a bad guy. Barrowman has charisma and charm, and sure he has tragic roots, but he's a giant fuckface troll. He's an entertaining one, but a giant fuckface troll none the less.

NOOOOOOOOOOOliver.gif

I can understand, from a character perspective, Oliver not killing Malcom. He's in a dangerous place psychologically, and he doesn't want to kill again. That's fine.

What I don't understand is the decision to have Malcom just chill on Thea's couch despite the fact that every single other side character should be trying to kill him for being incredibly evil and murderous constantly. he never stopped being a threat to everyone that's associated with the arrow, and really, if he wasn't currently incapacitated he would be trying to fuck everyone over again. How hasn't diggle, or roy, or even fucking felicity just said fuck this and shot him considering they know his location?

lol. Killing 500+ civilians isn't enough to tip someone past "not so evil"? That's pretty standard evil.

His wife died and that justifies him killing over 500 people and leveling an entire area of the city because "they're all basically animals in that part of town"? Yeah...no. Malcolm is pretty evil and I already hated when they brought him back from the dead, this attempt to "redeem" or work with him in anyway just makes my brain do gymnastics. Just imagine if instead of Malcolm, Oliver said it was fine to work with Osama Bin Laden and he refuses to kill him because "reasons."

I think everyone would rightly say, FUCK OUTTA HERE OLLIE!

just let malcolm die ffs, or at least put him in the fucking chinese prison island. he killed hundreds of people. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE.

the hoops they jump through to keep him alive and well is really just stupid as fuck. completely takes me out of the show.

Agree. The "don't kill Malcolm or you'll lose your soul" thought that Oliver keeps preaching is so stupid. Make zero sense if you think about who Malcolm is, and that he even killed Sara to save his ass from Ra's. They should have locked him together with Deathstroke on that island. Would have made perfect sense instead of having him in every single episode, being a "good guy".

A redemption arc for his character really is stupid. For 2 SEASONS they've emphasized just how horrible of a person he is. He psychologically abused both his daughter and son, and led the latter to his death. He blackmailed Oliver's mother for years and killed hundreds, leaving the city in a worse state than it already was.

Let's not forget that he also killed Oliver's and Thea's (step) dad. You know that guy that actually raised Thea.

Malcolm reminds me of Klaus on the Vampire Diaries. A character that's played well and fairly compelling on his own but makes everyone around seem really stupid to justify why he was hanging around despite how much harm he'd done. Wisely that show eventually spun him off. So yeah, Malcolm needs to either die or at least sit out next season. Maybe go menace the spinoff gang or something.

I don't think he'll die but somehow finagle his way into Ra's seat. It could be argued the prophecy he speaks of has the "sword" being more metaphorical (as in avoiding execution) and he has survived with his blood debt supposedly wiped clean which probably makes him a rare individual. And prophecies do seem to like to play out with tricky wordings and subverting the obvious candidates sometimes.

Where is Talia?
Guess they're not using her. She may pop up again later. My guess is that they didn't use her because of how closely she ties into the Batman side of the DC mythos, they instead opted to use Nyssa. Much more creative freedom with Nyssa, that way. Considering how she isn't that popular. Also, Ra's has at least what, 10 kids (someone who knows more help me out!)? So I'd expect more to pop up throughout the series.

You could also use Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Particularly S4. The other seasons tend to be more justified, but S4 is when he actually becomes a main character.
