I gotta say, though, I really do have to wonder what kind of architectural genius lead to putting the support beams on the outside of Alexandria's walls.

I actually noticed this yesterday, when crazy Sasha was shooting the dead, was thinking it would suck if she shot the beams supporting the wall, then thought why are they only on the outside. I also don’t see the walls as being all that strong, any lunatic with a vehicle could smash through it, but whatever I’m not an engineer. The need a moat, cause that would be cool.

They're not smashing through the steel beams on the other side of the sheeting. At least not with a vehicle. But who knows how deep into the ground some of them are.

I can feel Rick's point, but THIS

Ain't nobody going to listen to you when you look like a raving lunatic. Homie needed to keep calm and collected. Too much Jesse on the brain.

Probably not all that deep as it seems they were put up in a hurry and are unable to remain stable without a larger number of supports lining the structure. The bigger issue is anyone taking out the support beams could easily open a massive hole in the wall and waltz in. Add to this that no one has been even manning the bell tower (clock tower?) until it was suggested means up to that point almost any person or group could come up to the wall without being seen or heard.

At this point, the stupidity of those running Alexandria deserve to have their power stripped from them.

Rick basically is Shane at this point. And smh at Morgan if that is true wtf.

It isn't true. More than likely a small red herring for the more observant viewers. I don't expect to see Morgan till next season anyway. The trip from Atlanta to Alexandria is a long one on foot and Morgan doesn't seem to be one to drive around.

How the hell many people live in the community? I can never tell because AMC doesn't want to spend the HUNDREDS of dollars it would take to pay for extras.

In the comics, there were hundreds. Here, I guess its maybe two dozen?

I think the walls were mostly set up with the thought of keeping the dead out instead of keeping other people out. Zombies obviously won't be tearing down support beams, so having them on both sides certainly increases the stability. They look pretty solid, so I expect they'd be okay with just the inside supports, but no way to know right now.

Probably the latter

- Find CDC, just as the doctor there snaps and blows the place up
- Draws the attention of a massive herd, destroying what had been relative peace and safety at Hershel's farm
- Find a prison that happens to be in walking distance of a violent madman and his town
- Have a run-in with cannibals

Yeah, they're the unluckiest motherfuckers in post apocalyptic America.

Yeah, I don't want the show to be boring, but when you list it out like that...damn, that's a lot of bullshit in just over a year.

Yup. It's really hard to even consider it a community when they show so few people.

It's actually been much closer to 2 years. They did a few time shifts between seasons, the biggest being between season 2 and 3 to avoid filming during winter months. I hope we actually get winter this time around instead of another time skip.

I will be livid if that turns out to be Morgan. For one he's an incredible actor and deserves a big part on the show. For two the rate they have been killing black characters is disgusting...

Another reason why Rick pissed me off in this episode:

Jessie: Would you do this for anyone else?
~Long ass pause, all while i'm thinking "of course he would, he's a cop"~
Rick: No

???

The fuck. Why is Rick's character being thrown out of the window for a forced romance plot?

He's ruining the chances of himself, his family and his group, AND risking Tara's life all because he wants to get his dick wet, it's infuriating and completely out of character.
sorry but the reason everyone rolls with Rick is because he is willing to do absolutely anything it takes to protect the people he cares about when push comes to shove. And in Jessie's case push is literally coming to shove. He cares about her. He isn't going to let this guy get away with it.

Had a quick look at the timeline on TWD's wikia - looks like it's been around a year and 4 months since Rick woke up and started the true apocalypse.

When you put it in context, it's a wonder more of them aren't a complete wreck like Sasha. I think most people would be in a permanent state of shock if so many things happened in such a condensed period of time.

He barely knows her, and at this point he's putting her before his family (including his children).

That's stupid as hell. Rick has done a lot of crazy or stupid stuff to protect his family, Jessie is not family. It's a shoehorned romance meant to drive the plot and Rick is acting out of character just to provide conflict.

We need more 'real talk' Rick, I enjoyed the hell out of that scene. I also don't feel like the romantic part is dumb or forced like some others have said. They have chemistry and sometimes things happen quickly even if we don't mean them to.

I miss Shane, he was my favorite character. So seeing Rick basically go full Shane is lots of fun. Also Sasha's bullshit is incredibly annoying, I hope she does soon.

another thing that was silly was the purposeful absence of Maggie this episode. If Maggie was in the episode, she could have told Rick and Carol about Gabriel, which would have hopefully steered Rick away from pulling this scene; as he would have known Diana already didn't trust them. having this episode be Rick taking care of Gabriel rather than Pete would have made much more sense than this forced mess. sloppy sloppy writing they really don't think highly of their viewers

This is based on a comic that was already written, so I'd blame them before the TV writers.

That being said I do prefer your idea of them killing Gabriel just because he's such a weasel, but him suddenly dying just after telling Diana they shouldn't be trusted will make Diana even more suspicious.

Bingo. I think within the context of the entire arc it isn't so bad, but it feels a bit more shoehorned in. I will it is somewhat reasonable to expect Rick to get a bit hot blooded when a beautiful woman started paying attention to him after being without Lori (who is absolutely horrid) for a good long while. He has the thirst and he let it get the better of him.

As for Gabriel, I think he'd kill himself if he were left to his own devices. I mean he ran headlong into a group of walkers last episode and then was forced to retreat back into the turnstile. He'll probably get a gruesome death in the next episode.

Michonne knocking Rick out will look better than one of the Alexandria group doing it.

I'm sure she's also protecting her and the rest of the group's place in the community. She's been really pushing to play nice with Alexandria to the point she was (probably) cut out from Rick's secret team.

Watch Walking Dead live with the rest of us.
All of the good matches will be over before the finale kicks off.
You can watch Sting, Roman and Taker win their matches later on if they're any decent.

Nope I'll be over a friends house and even so it's Wrestlmania so yeah. To be honest as great as the episode has been I like Arrow, The Flash, Agents of Shield and Empire better than this show.

Agreed with your first statement but...

Disgusting? Characters die, it's part of the show. There is no need to make a distinction there based on skin color. C'mon son.

The season finale I think will reveal why Deanne wanted Rick's group in Alexandria in the first place. All internal conflicts aside they're going to have to pull together.

Oh my fucking-

Dayum that episode! Can't wait to see the season finale.

Oh and people are speculating that Morgan got killed by the Wolves and they will reveal it in the season finale. Rick and Co. about to f up the Wolves!

RIP Morgan

That wedding ring. The similar clothing. And I never noticed the sunglasses before.

...........Fuck

If this doesn't turn out to be true, then it's the biggest tease I've ever seen on this show.

If it does... I expect the opening scene of the finale will show us the gory details.

Although... It looks like Morgan took off his wedding ring at one point:

That doesn't make sense. The official AMC recap said that Morgan's scene in the premiere take places months after Rick passes through

Edit: well since leaving Terminus and the time jump for traveling to Viriginia, it has been a few weeks now. Maybe a month?

Fuck, that might be true

I like how Rick's group has been in Alexandria for like maybe a week and he's on the ground with blood on his face screaming like a lunatic while Deanna is crazy against trusting people she all but hand selected to come to her community and perform some nebulous task.

Goddamn, I can't decide what pisses me off more: the fact that this show is YET AGAIN going down the fucking boring ass plot of "ALL CIVILIZATIONS ARE DEATH TRAPS AND ONLY HUNTING UNTIL THE INFINITE HORDE OF GRENADE WIELDING MINIBOSS NINJA ZOMBIES KILLS YOU IN A MID SEASON FINALE IS THE RIGHTEOUS WAY TO LIVE" Seriously FUCK the writer who had the kids say "We were MEANT to be like this. It's THEIR world." They're fucking ROTTING. In five years tops the world's population of zombies will be pathetically small. There simply isn't that big of a supply of fresh bodies to repopulate the zombies but noooooobody seems to realize their main enemies will literally fall apart when exposed to enough rain.

Or am I more irritated that a woman who was good enough at politics to get herself into an elected position sucks so fucking bad at playing politics 101. Anarchy is like day 1 education shit, Deanna. You seem to have no fucking plan for Rick here. He's a charismatic, violent warlord and you've invited him in. You need to make concessions to your newly established warrior class or you face the exact revolt you should've been expecting well before Rick warned you it would come.

Like I'm beginning to think that in the world of The Walking Dead we're meant to believe that there are literally no human beings left smart enough to build civilization when faced with predators infinitely less menacing than the average wolf.

This worlds civilizations were founded on war, death, conquering territories . What makes you think the rebirth of any civilization will be peaceful and easy. It's sadly human nature.

I will quit the show if they have been teasing Morgan all season long to just kill him off screen.

Yeah, the timeline is really hard to piece together. The producers should've probably said weeks instead of months. The recap for 508 where Morgan discovers the church introduces the scene with him as "some time later".

I think they would have them meet up at least one last time before killing him off.

I do expect some type of double episode backstory with Morgan on everything that happened during this backhalf of the season. Kinda like what the gov got at the front half of season 4 with the side story

Maybe it's a red herring?

Where have they been teasing him?

Wha? He's been teased walking around where Rick has been in the past, he grabbed a note that showed where Rick was going, meaning that he was going to run into the town soon enough.

Like, the first episode they teased him at the end. You don't remember that?
