I'm really bummed bestbuy preorder is sold out for in store pickup. Had gift cards and GCU with the preorder bonus credit to get it for $1.37 and the $10 for pre ordering.

Might just go snag it after work tomorrow anyways. Need to see what the hypes all about

Have you tried chalice dungeons? Someone said the same things until he did the dungeon on a stream and died for hours each boss he has already killed before.

I have access to them but haven't gone in yet. I'm writing the guide for USgamer so the randomized dungeons don't really fall into my jurisdiction. My comments refer to the main portion of the game.

Hardest Souls game for me, really. I really don't know how could you find the bosses super easy.

Bloodborne? You stand right behind most of the bosses and you win. The Witch boss was super easy... which ones have you been having trouble with?

I have no idea. There's no rush, though. Better to take our time and be thorough than try to crank something out for those extra day-one hits. I'm doing the same thing with Pillars of Eternity, which we'll also be reviewing late.

There was a time when your site had to do that though. I dunno, don't slight the guys that played it in earnest and completed it in time.

I think it's good that you guys have taken the stance you have, I really do (same goes for your lack of numerical scores!), but sometimes bragging about it comes off as really pretentious.

Early Dark Souls 2 was stupid easy with OP Faith builds and a Mace. Game was a breeze once I got Lightning spears going and a Mace (or two) upgraded. Then when I got a Great Club, game was over, way too easy with that build, before they nerfed Lightning spears like crazy.

I hate myself for using faith build, but I still had to learn to play decently for PvP. So it's not like I was a scrub.

At least I wasn't a dirty bat staff user.

PeevePeeverson (well known PvP and PvE Souls player) have been also saying that the Cleric Beast fight was by far the hardest boss fight out of all Souls games and generally his style is quite aggressive.
Perhaps a silly question, but does that statement include the bosses that come after it in Bloodborne?

I'm still on the fence about this one - being casual and all, I doubt my ability to stick with it - but knowing that one of the harder bosses comes early might help.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Lol look at dan stapelton being salty on his twitter guys.

For the record, I spent ~12 hours this weekend legitimately trying to enjoy Bloodborne, waiting for it to get good. It did not.

"Bloodborne's old-school challenge!" No it isn't. Even Mega Man has save checkpoints before boss fights. This is just intentionally shitty.

there is a lot more to that. You guys think it will affect the review score from IGN(hes not the one reviewing it).

I just want to say, I like this style of review. I'll go give your website a hit to support it.

No at the time he said that he had only fought the Cleric Beast.

It's what happens when you survive an overdose of the sugar substitute, Stevia

Eh, all bets are off in NG+. The games aren't balanced for that. (And that's ok, because the main focus is the initial playthrough.)

I wasn't able to bank on life gems until the end of Dark Souls 2. A bigger aspect that was broken was being able to repair the ring of sacrifice, having a bank for lifegems and other items at all times extended to breaking how healing happens.

Oh wow, so hyped! Coincidentally, I beat my first boss in Demon's Souls today, so I'll take that as a good sign that I'm in for a damn good time with Bloodborne.

Dive into the online, would be nice if I a review outlet looked more into the online, PvP, co-op, Dungeon sharing, Custom Names for connecting, Regions, etc. Usually that stuff gets glossed over, if you're gonna take your time, then check that stuff out.

Yeah I have a feeling that players who relied on shields and magic/pyro may find this game harder than those who are more used to melee. God I can't wait to sink my teeth into this game tomorrow.

I wouldn't say that the bosses are easier per se, but if you are familiar with the Souls games, caution generally will let you get through a lot of them. However, if you threw someone into Bloodborne the first time, they will likely have a rough time with them. Don't get me wrong there, a few of the bosses do have some new and unique surprises in store even for veteran players.

The hype was real then.....

Now, for someone who really wanted to like demon and dark souls, but struggled and gave up quite early on, like me, would I also struggle with Bloodbourne?

It's not so much the difficulty, I got further in demon than dark, I just found it quite a frustrating experience.

this game currently is pretty hard and has long load times (which From is looking to fix with update). If frustration is your issue to the point you gave up I wouldn't buy it until more people can give impressions

Just to set some things straight...

- From a Dark Souls player, this game is pretty easy. Harder than the average game, but much easier than Dark Souls, especially Dark Souls 2.

- The Regain system isn't all that it was cracked up to be. Dark Souls players won't even notice it's there most of the time.

- Boss are super easy, especially compared to Dark Souls.

Any questions I'll be happy to answer.

I'm also working on a guide for anyone who needs help: http://www.usgamer.net/articles/bloodborne-tips-walkthrough-and-boss-battle-guide

I was afraid of this, especially the regain system :(

Hoping you're just an uber and godly DaS player and that Im relatively not lol

He's not reviewing the game.
My bad I thought with the venom he was attacking people defending his hate for the game he was backing up his review for the site. Seems strange to get so defensive about a game your not even reviewing, I don't like many games I've tried over the years that have scored well but haven't taken on a crusade to tell people why they are shit.
