1 - Other than finding more shortcuts / lanterns, you'll find an item called Bold Hunter Mark, something like that, that brings you back to the Dream with all your Echoes
2 - Nope. Get used to the landscape because that's all you're getting.
3 - I believe there's a few sidequests involved. The laughing door should open a door in the back after doing something, I think.
Thanks, I'm sure I'll get used to my surroundings pretty quickly as I'll probably be spending quite a bit of time in the same areas due to the difficulty levels.

Ah well, once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.

I played yesterday for about 2 hours. Mobs are more annoying than the ones in Dark Souls 2. I also think that the graphics are not as good as they should be, other than that I've liked a lot what I saw.

Since I'm still not used to the way to control your character I died like three times without knowing how to heal xD.

I want to go home so I can play Bloodborne :(

To all the people hating on me and Bloodborne-GAF (mostly me, though) on Twitter... mind your own business and fuck off, thank you very much.

edit: or, if you have an issue with me - why hide behind tweets? Send a PM or add me on Steam, let's have a friendly discussion why you dislike me so much.

k?

k.

Wait, what the hell do people have to hate about? Think I missed something :P

Can't wait to get home to play this. Been so stoked all weeeek.

Played it a bit last night and this morning after waking up. Having fun, but I'm noticing some drawbacks too. Fought Cleric Beast for the first time just now. I was barely doing any damage to him and eventually died. So much for my 16 blood vials. At least now I can level up, but I'm going to have to do some grinding/farming now...

Also, fucking hell, this game has atrocious loading times. I counted 45 seconds. I'm noticing some graphical glitches too. Every time I see the red floor marker thing that says "View Specter", nothing happens. A grave stone pops up and the whole thing disappears. Are these supposed to be the equivalent of bloodstains in Dark Souls? To see how someone else died?

Does anyone know if the distant bell ringing is another player accomplishing something in another world, like in Dark Souls?

Oh right.. pressing the PLaystation button while fighting a boss to take a break = back to check point. Fuck that sh11t. Seriously annoying that you cannot even catch a break if your phone is ringing or something like that.

Yeah I'm just helping other people with this fight because it's so fucking good. I love the area you fight in, and love that he's basically just a souped up hunter using the same moves you are with that one exception. It doesn't hurt that the fight gives me major RE4 vibes.

I was thinking more along the lines of the end of MGS3, I get
The Boss
vs Naked Snake vibes, mostly because of what you stated lol.

Are you thinking of the Krauser vs Leon fight?

For Cleric Beast - it's a long fight. Learn his patterns and you can lock onto the head to stun/parry.

Loading times ARE annoying. View Specter is the same - it's a red ghost of someone who died. They work for me about 75% of the time.

I think the bell ringing is someone trying to summon a player. It's an item you use to initiate coop I believe.

After getting through that part with the mob hanging around the burning beast (central area) and facing two large wolfs on the seemingly bridge-like area, do anyone know if there's a lantern nearby that I can unlock? Currently only two I have is sickbay and central area.

Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne down! This game is incredible...although I'm finding it a little easy so far.

Love the new souls game feel and smell, and THE MUSIC.

how the FUCK do you beat
the blood starved beast. I've been fighting it all goddamn day, parry him constantly, take off huge chunks of damage, and then the thing just jumps out of nowhere and takes me from full health to full poison and a sliver of life and i instantly die because i cant even heal it. Someone please tell me there is some kind of trick. I'm using the pistol and the kirkhammer by the way

This game is legit. When you take on six enemies and weave through them without taking a single point of damage? Best thing ever. Can't wait to find the third boss later tonight.

Actually, you died. There is no pause in this game.

No, but you can unlock a shortcut to the second lantern by going inside the house near the wolves, going downstairs and heading out to the left door.

is this a game where your weapons lose dmg over time?

i swear when i started i killed the first guy in 3 shots, now its taking 5 shots, same guy..

okay seriously, how do I do co op with my friend? I can see his character standing right next to the checkpoint but my beckoning bell is not lit up.

Gameplay is much faster than a souls game. The fact that enemies have been dropping healing potions like mad really enforce the idea that it's more action-y. Really dig it.

Transforming weapons is bad ass.

Load times suck though.

The area behind the
gate in the Cathedral ward you unlock with the seal, is beyond insane. The goddamn shotgun NPC there wrecks me silly. Should I try Old Yharnam first?

So how's the game folks? Thinking about swinging by GameStop today after work and picking it up.

Never played any Souls games.

Do you like Castlevania?
Do you like challenging semi-fast paced action rpgs/action games?
Can you take inhuman abominations of which you've never seen (i'm not joking)?
Think you can play a game without a pause feature?

Somebody said to use the whip for AOE and cane for CQC and go at it like you're a member of the Belmont clan. I really like that way of thinking. That's going to be my initial loadout when I start playing.

glad they fixed the camera on the cleric beast, now instead of his hairy ass being the only thing on screen it just pushes the camera outside the bridge so I'm staring a wall. cool.
