what I really LOVE about this game is how the villagers feel more alive in this world. the previous games had a bunch of guys waiting for you to show up. observing the few in the town area, it felt like they were sharing stories about their everyday life while occasionally stepping into beast poopy (love that animation lol).
Even the enemies themselves still have some humanity in them, they keep rambling to themselves in their insanity, it's amazing

So where the hell am I supposed to go? I get to that bridge where 2 beasts are waiting for me, who can pretty much wreck me in 2 shots...

One of the reviews I watched compared this aspect of the game to RE4, sounds absorbing.

Strategy spoilers that makes the third/fourth boss easy!
For the Blood-starved Beast, stay locked-on and in front of it. It will always do a single or dual slash, both which are easy to quick step backwards from. At the end of each slash, hit it once or twice with an extended weapon. I used Saw Cleaver and it was trivially easy this way.

I swear I sometimes hear "Dear sister", lol.

mmmm watcha sayyyyy

(minor spoiler advice)
run past them and keep an eye on your left as you run down the bridge, there's a path leading into a building. go down the stairs, open the door, and run outside and then up another set of stairs to a gate. open it and boom you are at the lantern, now you can reach the boss (whos at the end of that bridge) in about 30 seconds

What's with the door in
Old Yharnam
that can only be opened from the other side? I've beat the
blood starved beast
and the area is pretty much over.

Have you explored the
nightmare zone?
I know where the boss is (I think) but I don't think there is much else to the place unless I'm missing a path there.

That's where I'm exploring now. I know I've found 2 paths so far. One along the rocky paths where giants throw boulders are you, and another down in the poisonous water which leads to a cliffside path that has a really weird brain enemy. That second area/enemy causes Frenzy and I haven't been able to get past it, so I'm going along the mountains now.

Many guides say that you must reach the Cleric Beast to unlock leveling. I didn't reach the boss, was able to return with an item, and found the soul leveler and church in the Hunter's Dream opened up.

Something to consider!

Questions about the beginning

Ok, so I just got through the two mobs, and the crows..i just quit the game to get a breather and was wondering if there's a Lantern nearby before I go any further or if I die, I'm back at the beginning? I would really rather not do this again lol

This game is so good

I keep seeing notes about illusory walls, but I can never find any. I realize some of these might be fake, but is there a trick to opening them? I'm just swinging the Kirk around like a madman.

Are you talking about the ones on the bridge? Just run past them

lol 1. my pride says that i have to kill them and 2. they have a long jump attack and are pretty fast. Would never think about running past.

And one just fucked me up with two hits (full health...)

Embrace the deaths.

I don't think the bosses are harder in Bloodborne.

You just have to take them on in a completely different way than you had to in the souls games. Where the Soul series requires you to take things very slowly, these bosses are way more fast paced.

the ones in the dark building drove me crazy. stayed downstairs looking for some "hidden secret" as a note claimed, went up and killed them just so to shut them up. they either tried to summon some demon or were swapping cupcake recipes...

Hence why it makes them harder for me personally. And I love it!

Help!
I accidentally attacked a female NPC hunter and now every time I come back she tries to kill me. She did give me two different items by asking twice, don't remember de second one
anyone in the same situation?

The metagame is alot faster with the shields gone. It use to be a more more push and pull type of thing with Souls but Bloodborne is all offense.

Hey all I just beat the third boss and got wrecked by the bag guys. Now I can't get back to
the unseen village no matter how many times the bag guy kills me. What's going on?
I know it's further in the game than where I probably should be by I want to explore for loot.

I don't believe so? Which one is that?

You know the area with the crows and that big dude who is banging on the wall? If memory serves, there is an area on the left filled with crates and stuff. Destroy those, and that will uncover a drop down with some of the beasts In a cage. Follow the path into the house and go up the stairs
