Axe for vets and newcomers alike. It beats the Cleaver all ends up imo, the move set is monstrous. The Cane is a bit better for crowd control but the axe is good for it too when 2handed as it has really wide swings.

Go to the old cathedral ( if I'm not mistaken the name ) and there should be a door on the right and then a platform to take you up. go straight on the bridge then right before the door and then get down and then you will need to do some platforming after that is the 4th boss area

Don't fight the mob, wait till they patrol around and sneak behind them into some stair cases
If you want to fight them, draw them one by one with pebbles

dash out of his thee hit combo, land a combo of your own, & then dash out of his gunshot, don't dash just once, he almost always hits three times in a row, so memorize the timing & avoid his three hit combo to get your opportunity to him, & remember not to get greedy
reloading bullets from storage for health if i understand correctly

Don't lock on. Fight it between the edges of the bridge, if he corners you run to the other side.

I thought his first phase was easy but when he starts to swing crazy I just used molotovs.
For me Bloodborne is a whole another level for From Software in boss gameplay. The fast paced gameplay is just so amazing and well crafted that you will feel the very tension every second of the fight.

Molotov's are pretty effective towards him. Also try to parry his attacks with your gun.
