Wow, finally got my account authorized on the EU release day of Bloodborne.
It's been a joy reading the hype (non-spoilery stuff) by you guys and I'm just about to start installing the game on my PS4, luckily I have wed-fri off work this week so I'm gonna be able to delve into the game alot.

Wonder when the much talked about loading patch is gonna show up that IGN mentioned?

Oh man, you're THAT KIND of souls player. Better get used to the handgun-parry mechanic and dodging,cause defeating Cleric Beast with molotovs won't do you any good considering the next bosses...
 
I'm enjoying the game a lot so far, the art direction is sublime in every sense of the word, but tech wise this thing should easily be hitting 60fps locked. I know, "it's a From game", but that's not an excuse I like to validate. They've had 3 games on HD consoles to nail down their tech by now, or at least I would've expected Sony to step in to really bring it up performance wise. Ah well. Everything else is great.
 
So weapons benefit from specific stats. It seems like the stats boost the attack power, if i'm interpreting it correctly. So does that mean the stats for weapons in the "Attribute Bonus" section are the ones you should raise when you level up?

According to the bonus section on my Saw Cleaver +3, I have strength (D), skill (E), bloodtinge (-), arcane (D). My character's stats for those are strength 9, skill 15, bloodtinge 7, arcane 8. Can someone help me interpret how these stats benefit bonuses to my weapon dmg? I'm lost...
 
The third boss
Blood Starved Beast
is by far
the easiest boss out of the first four. And he's well easier than the fucker on the tower with the gatling gun too.
 
I asked this last night but it was late. For those that beat the game.
I just defeated the boss with all the spiders, how close am I to the end now that the moon changed red?

I made the same mistake yesterday at the cost of a good bit of time and echoes. Not until I finally beat him did I realized I skipped the first boss, who was pretty much a cake walk after

How often can I ring the beckoning bell? Lol. Feels like cheating. I found an invitation to ring it and then two players showed up and the first boss turned from hard to a joke.

BTW is the axe the best weapon?
 
Bloodborne is truly amazing and addicting! I'm sitting work right now going through withdrawals.

Saw Cleaver gains damage from each of those categories, and the letter indicates how good the scaling is for that stat. On your character stat screen it should tell you a number like (100 + 25) where 100 is the base dmg and 25 is the extra dmg you're getting from stat scaling.
 
It's been a long time since a game made me stay up all night knowing i have no time to sleep all day. This game... and I'm not even a fan of previous Souls games. The loading time doesn't bother me at all. The only bad thing i have to say about this game is the occasional framerate issues..stilll a 10/10 so far.

I don't think there is a limit, other than what insight you have to use up.... but what do you mean by you found an invitation? Does that happen when you ring the small bell to help people, or did it just randomly show up by itself?

Axe & Kirkhammer are by far my favorite so far... axe is awesome!

I prefer the cane.

And as for the bell, no you have to have insight to use it. But that's not exactly hard to find. I agree that it makes the game a breeze though.

Pulling enemies/crowd control (blunderbuss)/easy way to stun -> visceral strike.

Don't be mistaken, the game is still in the traditional slow/methodical way of fighting from past souls game, just ever so slightly sped up. Be wary of where you're evading and how much stamina you have, as well as the recovery of it.
 
I keep struggling early on near the bonfire with so many enemies. Any tips besides "don't suck"? I got to the asshole with the brick once then ate it.

Using saw cleaver. May start over and go cane.

main issue with recovering after dodges is waiting so long to be able to use a blood vial
 
Any tips for beating
the hunter who appears in Father G's area
. I saw him
duking it out with another hunter, i decided to side with her and he twatted us both lol

No i'm alone and he's killed me about 6 times.

I've beaten the boss so i can't summon.

He's hard as fuck.

Did anyone watch mendrox's stream much?

I seem to remember
an underground cavern area with giant type enemies whilst they were exploring forbidden woods. Can't seem to find it and I've cleared forbidden woods.

Does anyone know or remember where it was?
 
At my university right now, won't be getting home until 8PM or so. . going to try to game a good amount tonight though I have an essay due tomorrow (and two due today at 2PM. . just have 1 almost done).
 
Woah.... I just saw a video of pvp 3 vs 1....

I thought you can only get invaded by one person at a time... that's just messed up.

The fuck? I cruised through the other three and got stuck on that one for multiple hours.

Its not the weapon choice it's your play style. You need to be precise and patient. Once you've encountered the enemies enough that you can predict all their moves, you can start to be sloppier since your reactions will be better.

Actually, it's possible to level up without fighting him.
Technically all you need is 1 integrity to unlock leveling up. If you explore around you can find items that give you integrity. I explored a lot and had a full set of armor and was able to level up a few times before taking on the first boss at all.
