Came back after upgrading cane to +3 and levelling to 17, beat cleric beat. Shame I lost 7000 souls but oh well

I then went on to beat Father G on my first attempt. We're back, baby
Where did you find all the blood shards to do this? Which areas were you using to level up so you can take on the cleric?

How good is this game for playing in short bursts? I'm in the last few weeks of my semester and shit is piling up so I really don't have much time for gaming right. My copy is sitting there shrink wrapped on my desk. Should I bother starting it now if I can only play 30 minutes to an hour a day or should I just wait until I'm done school and immerse myself fully?

Has anyone found out (Cathedral Ward spoilers) what the
fucking invisible Eldritch Horror thing is that grabs you
outside of Odeon Chapel is?[/QUOTE]

Not yet but the scared the effing bejesus out of me the first time lol.

Question:

I found 2 ritual bloods I asume that I need them for the chalice dungeons but It seems that I need something else because I can't create one. Looking around I learnt that you need actual chalices to create the dungeons, so, Do I need to find them? Or it will eventually happen in some way (killing a boss, offered by an NPC, etc)? Right now I'm fighting against the blood starved beast.

Guys, I feel like I cheated. I only tried the 2nd boss once before bed last night and died of course. Well, this morning, just to see what it was like, I tried the Beckoning Bell at the boss. Chimed it, game looked for a player, found someone. He comes upto me and bows, I bow back and we head through the fog to the boss. We get him into second form so quick and then I played the music box while he just take him out. After the fight, we waved to each other and he left. It was so easy. I feel like I cheated but I'm also amazed how cool of an experience it was.

Co-op is tons of fun but it does make the game soooo much easier. Don't feel like you cheated, as long as you enjoyed it play the game your own way.

Never have played a souls game before, played Bloodborne for about 3.5 hours last night and had to force myself to go to bed. So happy to get off work early today, Bloodborne is fucking awesome.

Fuck this game. The difficulty curve is beyond anything I ever played.

But I can't help it, I always feel like coming back :( ..fuck this game

I can't find any way of saving Twitch VODs when streaming from PS4? Anyone halp?

I am pretty sure you have to manage all that from the twitch site, also VODs aren't saved permanently, only for 2 weeks. You can make highlights from the vod though which are saved permanently but they have to be a maximum of 2 hours. Or you can just link a you tube to twitch and load the entire run there.

Shortly after the second boss...

I went back and invited the housed lady to the church, and now she is sitting in here being an ungrateful hag. I just gave her (somewhat) safe haven and this is the thanks I get!? Tempted to just charge up and...

Never mind. This is Souls Bloodborne, and you never know how that might turn out later.

If you think you will be able to just play 30 minutes at a time, you are kidding yourself. This is one of those games where you look up and 7 hours has past and you haven't really done jack shit.

I felt the same, but on the bright side you can farm blood vials on the way to him (parry and kill the brick guys instead of running past), whereas when I was dying to the Cleric Beast, I'd kill a ton of guys on the way and get jack shit. You might run out of bullets, but you can convert health to bullets, so it works out okay in this particular scenario.

How do you convert health to bullets?
What good are the bullets?

I'm finding the gun useless and I'm trying to not use it. I heard someone mention that you can get a shield later in the game so I'm kind of just trying to hold on until I get it, if it's true.

So, based on the stat description and the item you can get more from, Insight sounds like its basically your Mythos Knowledge rank from Call of Cthulhu. I now fear for my hunter's sanity in ways I previously did not.

Pretty sure that tatcic is not 100% proof. Before I finally pushed him off the roof with my whip, I had tried numerous times to do it and he would jusy skip my bullet by dodging it. Same with molotovs.
Well I just shot him twice in a row as soon as I climbed up there because I was pissed. Then he fell and I was like... that's it?

What firearm did you use? Was using the hunter blunderbuss myself, which I think is the one that's optimal for parrying and quick shooting compared to the hunter pistol.

One hour to go before I leave work and then I'm gonna dive in headfirst. It's going to be glorious!

Planning to play at least 8 hours in my first session so I won't have much sleep tonight.

Hit up on the dpad. You do get a shield, but I haven't tried it. The gun is fantastic though, so much easier to parry in this game.

I made it to the first boss last night without too much trouble. Getting there was exhilarating at times. But then I couldn't figure out where the last shortcut I unlocked was, and I died about 10 times rushing through areas trying to find it, and eventually threw in the towel for the night. Can't wait to pick it back up tonight!

Getting drenched in blood and slime is so gross and awesome!

Another successful night. Beat Father Whatever. Managed to get from Cleric to him and past that part without dying. Overconfidence phase that will be replaced with heartbreak, I know. But certainly going through Artorias of the Abyss recently helped prepare me for this.

The only compliant I would have is that while many of the gameplay elements feel evolved from Demon's/Dark, the overall narrative feels like a step back. Even in Demon's Souls the through-line of the Monumental and the Maiden in Black felt stronger than what is here. I would say, 'so far' but I'm far enough in that I should know what my goal is and what the stakes are. I realize story is kind of the low priority for many souls fans, but it's always been the thing that keeps my mind in that world, thinking of characters and motivations and the Shakespearean tragedy of it all, and in Bloodborne it's more, 'just find this thing to get out, and have fun storming the castle!' Maybe this will go away as we discover more lore and as sub-plots get introduced (I hope) but just my initial impression that Miyazaki built his best world yet, but has given me very little reason for being there, which feels like a misstep.

I'll probably eat crow whenever I get to the spoiler thread though. ;)

I have a walmart gift card and I want to use it toward buying psn credit for the digital version of bloodborne. Unfortunately it seems I can not buy a psn card with a girft card due to Walmart policy. Does anyone know if I can buy a physical copy of the game, then immediately exchange it for psn cards? Like, bring them both to customer service so the credit isn't returned to the card first?

Ok, just finished first boss, I have a question.

Was their any way to counter him at all with pistol? I noticed when I did a shit ton of damage with a molly he went into a critical state and allowed me to pull off a "counter" move that did massive damage

Holy fuck this game.. All I can do is think about it!! Finally beat
cleric beast
, opened a bunch of shortcuts, learned how to riposte, and started to really get a hang of combat last night. Combos incorporating the weapon transformation oh Lord!

I ended the night getting a
new armor set and the saw blade from the sewers
. Currently level 18 and fortified my starter saw cleaver one time.

Don't think I've ever seen something so satisfying as
"prey slaughtered
" on a screen. Gonna be a long long work day.

After I beat this I'm definitely going to have to sink my teeth into the dark souls 2 Remaster as I never gave any of the souls games an honest shot before. This has me hooked.

Props to the guy who made this it helped me ton.

There are quite a few that aren't into the Souls games at all and are enjoying Bloodborne actually. Heck I'm one right here lol.

I don't know that simple tinkering with the setting and how the battle flow could expand the audience so easily. Good for you and your friend to enjoy such a great game!

Question:

Does the save information gets saved on the PS4 HDD or is it a cloud storage? Im going out on a trip and there is a PS4 where Im going to, Want to know what to do.

This is certainly a love letter to Demon's and Souls fans. Take out some of those bits you liked, add some new stuff and off you go. Interested to see what they do with Dark Souls 3 based upon the reaction to Bloodborne.

I heard someone mention that you can get a shield later in the game so I'm kind of just trying to hold on until I get it, if it's true.

To my knowledge, the shield is a useless item, more of a joke than anything else. The description even states that it's normally used for defense, but doesn't work against the raging beasts of Yharnam or something like that.

TL;DR Don't use the shield. If you want something semi useful if you're not going to use the gun to parry, use the Torch. Some enemies are afraid of fire.

You press up on the dpad to convert some health to blood bullets. I think it only works for some guns. I know it works for the pistol.

You want bullets because they allow you to parry, which is how you want to take down the big brick wielders quickly. Shoot the guy in mid swing, just before he hits you. It'll take some practice because there's a slight delay between hitting the button and firing. This skill will also apply to the Gascoigne fight, but I ended up beating him when I was out of bullets, so it's not strictly necessary.

The shield in the game is a joke and will not help you. You have to learn how to use your gun effectively.
