Can someone give me a quick breakdown of what stats are currently worthwhile? I keep seeing that perception and resolve are complete dump stats but I'm not sure why that's the case.
Because according to minmaxers who have crunched the numbers, boosting Interrupt/Concentration right now is fairly pointless versus boosting anything else. Which leaves those attributes as a way to build up Deflection on tanks and little else.

That's in pure combat terms, though. If you want to RP properly, those attributes also govern some dialogue options.

So if I roll wizard there's absolutely no reason to put in any perception whatsoever?

Unless you have an unusual frontline wizard in mind, or your RP concept includes the wizard being particularly perceptive, no, you can dump it.

(By dump it, I don't necessarily mean knock it down to 3, but you certainly don't need more than 10.)

I've tried to keep my info to a minimum, but I think my party will be: Rogue Main (maybe monk), Cipher Companion, Chanter Companion, Druid Companion/Wizard Companion/Wizard of my own creation (I've never really liked druids before and I haven't cared about what I've read of the wizard companion) or maybe the paladin companion, priest companion, and fighter companion.

I just looked at the wiki, the character descriptions and portraits to choose the party... I have no idea about their skills or how useful they are. Don't really care about that for the first run either. I've played the BG series numerous times and always used the same party (like Imoen, Minsc, Viconia, Keldorn, and the spoiler one from TOB because I liked their dialogue and interactions the best. Hopefully, I can find a group I like just as much here...

Do you stat up as you level, or are they relatively fixed?

Fixed, but there are bunch of means to temporarily or semi-permanently buff them. Armor can be enchanted to buff attributes a couple points, there are consumables that will buff them for a couple minutes or less, you can get resting bonuses that will buff a few attributes in varying degrees depending on how much you pay for your room and those last until you rest again. Plus abilities can temporarily buff them.

I've not seen where your attributes ever change through levels, but I'm almost certain that your defenses and accuracy increase every level. Maybe 3?

Yes they increase every level.

After watching a bunch of videos I honestly can't decide between Cipher and Druid. I like the concept of the Cipher class, but casting spells in bear form is pretty damn cool. Hopefully I'll be able to decide before I launch the game tomorrow.

I want to make a gun wielding rogue, what stats are recommended? Might and Int? Also, I don't know what race to play, I basically know nothing about what to play D:

Depends on if you want to use a bunch of active abilities since Int will increase their duration, otherwise it isn't very useful. Might and Dex will be the best ones regardless then really whatever you want for RPing purposes.

The only classes I've seen affect dialogue options so far are Priests and Paladins. And even then you have to worship a certain god/be apart of a certain order to qualify for the dialogue options

(If anyone who has actually played the game can comment on other classes affecting dialogue, please say so I'm curious too)

There was one place in the beta where a Cipher could use his mind stuff in dialogue, it lead to a new quest solution which was pretty cool. I assume there'll be more like that.

I remember there was some concept art of an Orlan Cipher who was like scrying a murder weapon for clues or something, so I wonder if that comes up in a quest.

This guy was meant to be a companion, but he got cut. He was a "cipher detective" for Dunryd Row, which is a secretive police organization in Defiance Bay.

I have an orlan gentleman detective cipher character sketched out, but I'm not sure I'm going to use him over my rogue.

OT is maybe 25%.

I highly, highly, highly, highly, highly recommend you include Sensuki's YouTube videos he made for this game in the OT. They have gotten much praise from all over the internet.

He'll also be making class-specific videos focusing on what attributes to pick, why, and showcasing the typical playstyles of the classes.

Let me play it already! ;p

Sucks it's not a midnight(eu) release imo.

Steam IS a form of DRM, so the only DRM-free version you can get is from GOG.

Some games on Steam basically just use it as a downloader. For example, in Transistor you can copy the downloaded files to another computer without steam installed and it will run just fine AFAIK.

Sensuki addresses this in the comments. He believes it wont be much of a decrease. Well find out soon though. i have a feeling PoE is going to offer all sorts of crazy build/party build ideas.

That Fire Godlike Monk was my go-to build for every backer beta release as my favorite to play. Now I feel like a Hipster now that everyone knows its insane potential hehe.

I've sold 3 friends $25 copies of the game in the past 2 days thanks to backer portal. I am doing the lords work.

I PM'd the dude who is making the OT for this and made a proper request to include Sensuki's videos. Hopefully he pulls through. I browsed the Bloodborne OT and it has beginner guides so I thought our OT should have those as well and no better than to have Sensuki's right?
