First session of about 6 hours down, I think I'm about to get to the third boss. So far the mechanical changes are pretty interesting but I didn't care for either of the first two bosses. Levels have been really cool though.

And JESUS the R2 hold attack with the axe is insane. I have a handful of weapons but it's hard to pull me away from that thing.

The next lantern isn't until you get past the second boss. There are some shortcuts you can get but even that is beyond a lot of stuff(namely the wolves on the bridge).

Seriously, I went from saw to spear and then the axe. That two-handed charge is beast.

This might be against the rules, delete if it is.

So my main strategy so far is to lure 1 or 2 enemies away from the rest and pick them off. Is that a viable, common technique? Wondering the best way to take out large groups or multiple 'large' enemies.

Started a new character already because I felt like I had screwed myself already and couldn't get past those stupid dogs on the Cleric Beast bridge.

Started over, conserved more bullets/cocktails, fortified my weapon, opened the shortcut, got to the Cleric Beast, and...killed him the first time.

Surprised to see so many having trouble with him. I used 5 molotov cocktails on him, and then mostly stayed right by his feet and just slashed away. Took him down in maybe 2 or 3 minutes.

It's a different story when you fight him "legit" with shotgun parries and counter attacks, at least when you're not used to the game's mechanics yet.

Totes. Certain weapons are good for AoE control though, like the Cane.

~~~
So just a heads up to everyone, but there are 'crystal lizards' per say. just....running heads in this game.
For a little while this is best. You will get stronger and be able to plow through them later.
Well the M
achine
G
un
guy gave me more trouble than the first 2 bosses, lol. In the end I managed to push him back with a shotgun blast and he fell
What is the difference between strength and skill?
Some weapons scale differently depending on the stats
STR is generally better for big/heavy weapons and Skill is better better for smaller quick weapons (like the whip you can get at the beginning)
Word to the wise. DO NOT FINISH THE GAME UNLESS:
1. You feel ready for NG+
2. You only care about finishing it once
Warning about NG plus:
Have your weapon of preference fully upgraded.
Be above lvl 90
You will get more souls per kill, but materials will drop at the same rate. Meaning if your weapon is +9 like mine. You have to wait for end game to fully upgrade.
I took a video of how long the load times can be and came up with 43 seconds.
*BE FOREWARNED, I RAN INTO THE THIRD BOSS IN THIS VIDEO BUT NOPED THE HELL OUT* I didn't even get close enough to really see whatever it is. I just saw the health bar pop up and said NOPE.
Yeah this whole "Go farm healing pots" mechanic is super lame.
It's been rare that I've had to farm vials so far. Fighting one boss I went through a full stack of 20 twice so that depleted my stores pretty good and i had to farm some, but beyond that I always have more than I need. There's one area that's pretty good for farming souls, decent soul gems, and vials at the same time, I did a few passes through there and I was fine.
Ok, someone help me please!
I'm a noob but doing ok so far...but....
I just killed the towns people and the big guy banging on the door. I have 2365 echoes and don't want to lose them. What should I do??
Go back to the lantern and return to the huntsman's dream. By the way they will all be back once you do this. Happy hunting.
Ugh. Just lost 21,000 echoes. From the Old Yedhjrndjw(sp) lamp underneath from the crypt to where Blood Starved Beast was, I couldn't find another lamp or find access back to that one.
