Remote play on Vita is bloody amazing.....

Does it play ok with the touch controls?

Probably going to start this tonight. Are there a lot of skill weapon choices later in the game? Was thinking of rolling a Noble Scion or Professional with the cane.

Have I missed an area somewhere?

I've beaten:
Cleric Beast
Father G
Hem...something Witches
Vicar Amelia
Bloodstarved Beast

After Bloodstarved, I met some new enemy that absolutely trashed me, and then I woke up in a cell. That area is friggin' hard, and I really don't feel like progressing there yet.
Have I missed something, or am I supposed to be there? :(
You can find a lantern pretty quick to escape there. Go up the rounded staircase

The key comes from a area later in the game and access to that comes later. Now that you beat the Vicar you need to go to the
forest
You know the password to the door now that you touched the skull.

Thank you so much. That door was driving me nuts.

got 14k echoes atm, should I just buy the 10k key and be done with it? I mean Im gonna need it eventually right?

It hasn't been confirmed but some in OT 1 thought higher insight increased the difficulty of the enemies to some degree.

I'm also wondering if those weird anomalies appear at different stages based on the amount of insight you have. It does say that things become clearer for those blessed with the knowledge of the ancient gods.

7th death at 10% life

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Buuuuullshit!!!!!!!!!

Jump attack which of course hits me.
An other hit while still on the floor.
Then I finally manage to roll away and he kicks behind him!!
He fucking kicks me while facing away. WTF WTF??

Than an other slash and I'm dead.
Nothing I could do.

And there are people out there that beat him first try, without leveling up their character.
Fml..

Can somebody give me a hint how to use the Cain
hurst summons?
I've run through both Forb
idden Forest
and
Hemwick lamp post
area?

Finally got one hunter down in
Unseen Chapel.

The weapon combos they have is absolutely nuts,
Whip+Flamethrower+Mini Tonitrus Spell, Saw Spear+Cannon, Beast Claws

Edit: All 3 dead now, killing 1 made it much easier.

Good tip to defeat that Cleric Beast on the bridge?

I found sidestepping him instead of backrolling helped immensely.

It's actually good advice for the game in general. The game rewards you for being aggressive and in the face of enemies, wherein Souls was more of a patient and wait and see approach. It took me a long time to adjust to that, but once I did it became easier.

posting again since i was at the bottom of the last page

Has anyone figured out how to open the door
next to the treasure chest in the cathedral ward? The one that is after you beat the ball + chain giant.

Can someone settle my fears? What I'm saying is probably pretty stupid, but I fear I've already seen like half the game. The game doesn't come out until tomorrow here in the UK, but I've been watching quite a lot of streams over the past few days.

I've seen the opening area, a little bit ahead of that, like 3 bosses and the first level of the chalice dungeon. Am I just being stupid and there's waaayyyy more areas than that right? That are completely different?

That would make sense. I'll have to pay attention, my insight is creeping upwards steadily now.

Got the game from gamefly today. Played a few minutes of it and i got completely turned off by the crazy difficulty.

Dude, give the game more than a few minutes...

Back in the day, I tried Dark Souls, got pissed and turned it off.

Came back to it a year later, this time focusing on learning the mechanics and taking it slowly, and now it is one of my favorite games of all time.

Eh, I don't know what special "touch" people are talking about but I thought DSII was pretty great overall. I prefer it to Demon Souls. Not sure where Bloodborne will rank...

I thought I did a decent job outlining it, but I suppose if I had to narrow it down to a couple things that effect the "feel" of the game (as opposed to huge faults like soul memory), it'd be lore and world building. An easier way of seeing this might be to compare Dark Souls 2 to its predecessor:

Dark Souls has compelling lore with major players introduced in the beginning who are reflected in the environments you find them in. Dark Souls 2's answer to this? "Wasn't the lore of Dark Souls awesome? Does this stuff remind you of anything?"

Dark Souls has a well-constructed world that makes sense. Dark Souls 2 drops you off into a volcano from a lift that was invisible on the ground and makes you defeat the 4 Old Ones to open a gate that merely circumvents a pile of waist-high rubble.

Dark Souls gave the player a choice of ending and implies some of the repercussions of your choice. Dark Souls 2 had one ending in which you sit on a chair that no one told you to sit on, for reasons that are never made clear (though it recently got an alternate ending patched in).

What I'm saying is that Bloodborne recaptured the Demon's/Dark 1 magic. The magic is Miyazaki.

4 hours in and I still haven't made it to the first boss. I suck at this game.

Find shortcuts. Use your echoes to buy the hunter gear, it's not that expensive. And upgrade your weapon of choice to +1

It will help. You'll become a good hunter, step by step.

It's pretty hard straight away, if you're new to the Souls games it might take even longer to get used to it. Dying is a part of the game, don't get frustrated when you lose your Blood Echoes, and don't place too much value on them. It's all about learning from whatever killed you, and using that knowledge to progress further. :)

So I beat the third boss and
Got kidnapped near the cathedral area by a guy carrying a sack? Wake up locked in a cell

These enemies are a pain, they're psychical attacks are boss level.

Wow how the fuck did I reach the
unseen village
?

Yep, this is me now. WTF?

Yep, I'm actually surprised at the responsiveness of the Remote Play with this game. I thought that there would be some lag but it's not there!

One thing I don't like are the layouts of the R2/R3, L2/L3 buttons. They've been switched around so that the R2 and L2 buttons are on the screen. Kinda throws me off when I'm in a dire situation. Then I panic because I start pressing buttons according to the default layout for other games. Then I die.

Also, I noticed some audio stutter in this game while using Remote Play. I got used to it, but I'm wondering if the new 2.50 and 3.50 updates have fixed it.
