Awesome. Any idea if it caps out for the finished download after an intro section or if it's more a progressive sorta thing? I've not used the play as you download feature before so kinda hazy on how it works.

It stops you from progressing at some point, but not exactly sure when as I'm also waiting on my game. After that you need the whole download to continue.

Finally beat Bloodstarved Beast, feels so good taking down a foe such as that all by yourself after several tries.

I beat him a couple hours ago myself after 2-3 hours of trying. I could
get him to his third transition without taking a single hit but kept dying immediately from poison control. All of a sudden it clicked that all I had to do was switch my gear to the set with higher poison resistance and he went down on my next effort. Sooooo nice

Slightly spoilery so I'll put tags on them and you can look at your own discretion:

- You can get the Blade of Mercy (badass short sword/dual blades) from the Crow Hunter Badge, given by Eileen the Crow. You have to either complete her quest, kill her or let her die (there's a part in her quest where that can happen VERY easily, she got killed and I didn't even know it until I found the badge on the ground).

- The Reiterpallasch (equally badass rapier/gunblade) is a bit further into the game, but you can get it as soon as you reach Cainhurst Castle.
If I am on boss 6, where might I find her or her corpse?

Thank god I just backed up my save from the cloud on a usb stick. Glad I have fast internet. Is this a known issue? I have never had the ps4 roll back or delete a game before.

I thought I saw a few posts in the firmware thread about games disappearing, it may be related to 2.50 which I assume you installed this morning

Ugh the monsters in the F
orbidden Woods

I hate
Snakes!

It's so much fun to see when these types of games (meaning Souls + Bloodborne) finally *click* with someone. I was watching Boogie stream last night, and I just loved seeing the joy when he finally beat the first two bosses.

Does anyone find themselves refusing to go to the Hunter's Dream because of the long load times? Sometimes I'll kill 2 bosses before I finally decide "Hey, I should probably cash my blood echoes". I think I've probably lost close to 200k blood echoes but hey I'm not going to wait for those damn load times!

Continues to be amazing. I spent some time getting summoned and helping people against Cleric beast and Father Guccione last night, was great.

Coming around on the cane sword which I had trouble getting into initially. comboing consecutive R2's with the whip form feels great, like I'm dead angling enemies that should be out of range.

The 2 big dudes between Central Yharnam and the elevator drop 2 vials each, so you can get 4 in about 30 seconds.

There's a better faring spot that I use reliably, but it is farther ahead at the
witch
abode.

Spawn there. Go up the stairs and kill the 3 ax Giants. They usually drop 3-4 vials each and a sometimes a blood gem.

FOOD! I'm eatinggggggg

No problem at all, my pleasure.
I'm at the fog gate, password is on, i've been secrching for a while hoping to find people, but have had no luck, i hope i'm not disconnected from the server, other wise i'll have to get another insight. :_:

thanks again by the way.

I fucking love this game, but the Blood Vials scarcity is really starting to wear thin on me.

Farming each time I want to fight Amelia is growing really tiresome.

I use the load times to read GAF or when I get killed by bosses think of a way to kill the boss instead of getting frustrated.

Yeah the loading screens are bad. If I start to run low on vials I usually end up just turning off the game for a bit.

thanks again by the way.

Set your network to worldwide.

Would you be willing to help me with it please. ?

Equip the set with highest poison resistance and a fast weapon, I used the axe in short form so you can move around quickly. Stay close, every time he attacks dodge left and counter when given a chance. Its really as easy as that. The key is to stay close as you can and dodge left on all attacks. I killed him that way without really taking any damage at all. Make sure you keep a stockpile of poison medicine.

real talk: most of the time Im walking around with the torch out, not the gun :/

I just dodge shit

So after beating
Father G
do I need to buy the Cathedral Key? Or can I level up?

dont need it yet, I still havent needed it and Im way past that (well, 1 zone past that)

Where exactly is it? I'm having trouble finding it.

It's in
Cainhurst Castle on the first floor, right hand side in a chest.

(SPOILERS) Exact steps to getting the
Reiterpallasch
:

- Defeat Vicar Amelia, which will give you the "password" to open the door to the Forbidden Woods. From the lantern where you fought her, go straight down into the main courtyard where the two big dudes were patrolling and the bunch of graves and Madman's Knowledge items are. Take a right past the big dude (most likely sitting down) and you'll find the door.

- Proceed through the Forbidden Woods, you'll get to an area with a village. Stick to the left wall, and by the gate you'll find a path that leads up. Follow the left side and eventually you'll find a cave (with poison water, be ready).

- Pass through the cave and look for a long ladder (REALLY long). It will take you back to the first area in the game and allow you to access the top floor of Iosefka's Clinic. There's a gate you can open to make a shortcut as well.

- Follow the path and climb the ladder, then go into the Clinic. On the right side there is a room with an item (and something else I won't spoil lol), the item is the "Cainhurst Summons".

- Once you have it, go to the Witch's Abode lantern in Hemwick Charnel Lane. Run down the path to the big area with the executioner guys and stand near the large black monolith thing in the center. A cutscene will play and a carriage you can interact with will take you to Cainhurst Castle.

- Go to the main entrance of the castle, then on the first floor the item will be in a box on the right side.

I couldn't reach the first boss for the life of me. Then I found that alternate path right after that group by the big fire. I was finally able to get passed those wolves and get killed by the boss, now I can finally level up. I dunno, IMO that intro is waaaay to freaking hard.

Sigh, I hate running out of viles. Anyone have a favourite farming spot?

I have a run through Central Yharnam to Oedon's Tomb that's great. Start at Central Yharnam and run through the house, kill everyone inside, then go to the bridge and take out the fatty and the wolves. The wolves almost always drop 3 vials each and the fatties drop 2 (sometime shining coins but rarely). Then go back through the house and kill the fatties outside, you should get 4 more vials. Go down the elevator and across the bridge. The boulder should kill everyone on it and they might drop vials. Then kill the fatty on the stairs (2 more), the dude with the shield, and the two beast-men hanging out in the corner near the stairs to Gascione (they almost always drop vials). This run almost always puts me at or near max vials. From there I just jump off of the ladder and die, putting me right back at the start. I do the run twice so that I have some vials in storage so that I'll have a few more attempts at a boss before I need to do it again. It takes about 5-10 minutes to run twice.

No it was already unlocked. Just leveled up my Cane. Now my question is, do I use the last of my Echoes to level up Skill for Cane use or how does this work? I'm kinda confused how the systems work as I haven't played a Souls type game since Souls 1.

Re-asking about the actual stats. I'm still trying to figure out what to do.

I just hit a REALLY weird ass glitch.

Was helping people fight Paarl co op to get a feel for his moveset before I took him on in my game. Beat him once and he didn't seem too bad. Beat him again, and it spawned me inside the boss room, and I was naked and he was kind of just sitting there.

I laughed a little bit, got my gear back on, and tried to homeward bone out. Then..... it spawned me there again? I thought it might be game breaking but I got out of it by beating his head in while he just kind sat there.

Fuckin weird!

any help I can get on the wolves on the bridge? I started with cane and professional.

If u got molokavs 2 on each will kill them. What I did was aggro one and if two comes I'll lure them to the stairs so I can hit one and run and rinse and repeat. Or be good with ur gun :)

Spent so much time fighting Father G solo and Sunbro'ing I now have anxiety about moving to the next area.

Too many horror stories about next section, lol.

I think I accidentally killed the
praying woman
in
Yahar'gul, Unseen Village
while running around in the dark like an eejit, dont suppose anyone has a screenshot of her location? Cant find anything online
