Are chalice dungeons pretty random in configuration?

That's the one thing I didn't do a lot of, only played two of them offline. I played most of the game before online was up, so I wanted to wait until NG+ and online. The two I played didn't change after I entered them.

Congratulations!

As a first time souls player, I'm taking it easy. 10hr of playtime, lvl ~32 I think, Amelia as a next boss. Still a lot of game is ahead of me. :)

Thanks! Demon's Souls took me months, taking it easy works as well. Happy Hunting :)

Fuck the Cleric Beast man. His lunge punch and his overhead jump both seem like they are tracking me, even if I roll away or run. I can only manage to get 1/3 of his life down before he starts fucking me up. Shit is giving me a headache now.

Cleric beast was easily the most difficult fight so far for me. Just so aggressive.
Setting him on fire lets you get a critical in on his head if that helps

I had the same problem. Supposedly instead of rolling it helps if you just circle around him to his back. Before I ever got around to trying that though, I just summoned a helper and he wrecked the boss for me.

nahw, want to beat him legit. I like those kind of fights.

I wanted to beat him legit too, but he just backstepped off the tower on his own :(

You got this bro. Taking a break really helps though. Game requires way more concentration than you may realize

He's very susceptible to parrying.

In his first stage, you can easily dodge the magic by going into him and exploiting I frames. On the second, practice parrying his swings. Prioritize the planted sword and destroy it asap.
yeah the thing is
in his second form he does some spell or something so all my bullets miss him, they just fly straight up.. really annoying

Maybe i should just go somewhere else for now=/

And done. Brilliant game from start to finish. Did a lot of exploring and I think I found all the hidden areas (going by the trophies). Playtime
38 hours
, level
97
.
Would you mind telling me roughly how far I am? Done about as much as I can for now in the first 2 archstones, haven't beaten a boss yet in the 3rd

At the moment my created character sits up on the tomb the game says I've been disconnected from the network and sends me back to the menu to start all over again. Super frustrating.

To answer the question above, I have a physical copy. It does give me an error saying the game hasn't finished install yet, but it actually has.

Are you selecting offline or online play? It could still be background installing from the disc. It takes some time to copy that many GB onto the HDD.

I BEAT
BLOOD STARVED BEAST!
Fuck you piece of shit, to be fair i got lucky because i think i lost him and took the chance to pepper him with molotovs, still felt good.
Also i ran into a door and a
FUCKING GIANT SPIDER GRABBED ME AND KILLED ME! WHAT?!
what is up with that.

tip for people having trouble with the game:

Roll TOWARDS enemies, not away or to the side. 95% of the time you end up on their back and you can sneak in some hits. rolling to the back is the worst

You probably still have
50%
of the game ahead of you, more if you look for the hidden areas. What's the last boss you fought?

I really really miss encumbrance and item/armor weights.

Same. There are seveal things that I miss, but the world itself is just so god damn good that I'm not going to complain
too much
for a while.

posting again since i was at the bottom of the last page

Has anyone figured out how to open the door
next to the treasure chest in the cathedral ward? The one that is after you beat the ball + chain giant.

Pages ago, but I would also like to know this. To me it seems like the little door that was behind the Cleric Beast boss fight is what that door is, but I haven't found a way to open it.

cleric beast was way easier than FG. Stay on his back/ass all the time and take 1-2 hits, then again try staying behind his ass.

GAF meta: Yo so was two lady gaga avatars in a row a couple pages back a co-incidence or was there a knack-bet style thing I missed?

Bloodborne: I am at work and keep thinking about a certain door I want to figure out how to get to tonight. Not long now before I can head home.

The fuck is this? I had 15k Blood Echoes and died down in old Yarnham just before what looks like the 3rd boss. And I've come back, killed everything and can't find them :/

great game I'm currenty fighting through the forbidden woods. at the coiled snke things. those guys with the tenticles sometimes give me hell but others i kill no prob

Online. I could swear the game was done installing...I can't play again until later tonight so I'll leave my PS4 in rest mode and hope that's the issue.

Thanks, good to know!
The spider boss in the lake. Found darkbeast paarl in but I'm working on the part in Yahar'gul with the bell maidens at the moment.

I literally just beat him on my 4th try, I know your pain. My strategy was this:

-fully stock up on vials and molotovs
-DO NOT lock on, personally I had no success with this
-use the oil urn at the very beginning of the fight as hes walking up.
-If you have time and the pistol, lock on to his face and blast him as many times as you can. If you can get a riposte in, it does a huge chunk of damage.
-back away and let him attack, dodge to his left immediately and get behind him. If you have a window, try your charged attack. If you don't have time for a charge attack, try a 2 or 3 hit combo, then dodge immediately.
-Stay right on his heels and keep rolling behind him.
-When he goes into hyper mode, use your molotovs and keep your distance if possible.

Don't give up man, you'll get him.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to spoiler tag that. My apologies.

If the issue persists online when you return to it, try and just play the first 30 minutes in offline mode and it should be finished with the background install by that time.

Still in awe of just how crazy intricate and well thought out the level design is in this game. It really feels like From found an already existing Victorian town and gave it a horror makeover.

How does the weapon scaling work?

Ive seen people mention B,C,D etc. My axe is 2 Ds and an E. Do I improve those by leveling appropriate stats?

Well, going with Waste of Skin might have been the worst mistake of my life. I've made zero progress so far, in several hours. And I mean that, ZERO. Ok, I've obviously made it to the first real lamp and a bit further, but I'm still not at the point where I can even level up. Guess I was feeling a bit cocky after beating DeS with relative ease recently, and before that DkS without too much trouble. That combined with people saying this game is easier than those made me think WoS would be the right choice. But man, the shit they throw at you right out of the gate in this game is just on another level. And the more you fail, the harder it gets, because you're bound to run out of both blood vials and molotovs. Ok, so you can farm a bunch of echoes and then go back to the Dream to buy more, but sitting through those load times, sigh...

Oh well, not giving up, as pissed as I am right now.

Ive been standing in front of the first boss gate for 30 minutes now, waiting for someone that needs my help. Still looking....

I don't remember having a pleasant matchmaking experience on PS4 since I bought it at launch. Starting to get old.
