So I've found a woman in the first central town and she's asking to be sent to "a safe place"

Do I send her to Iosefka's Clinic, or Oedon Chapel?

Talk to the people in those places and try and make a good choice based upon what the people say and how they say it. Remember, there is always NG+!

Sorry, but I'm not gonna play NG+. lol. Way too much stuff in the backlog to do that, even if I am enjoying the game.

A spoiler answer would do if you or anyone else would be so kind.

6th boss down! First try too, 5th and 6th have both been easy.

Shadow of Yharnam got fucking DESTROYED by the axe R2 attack. Like, holy shit man.

axe op pls nerf. The entire last area I did was by far my favorite in the game so far, the place is really damn huge and the enemy designs are fantastic.

At
cainhurt / Rom spider
anyone know if you can farm blood chunks in the former? Or is there an area coming up where I can? Need one more sooo bad :D

The scene after defeating VA was so weird. I literally had no idea what I was looking at because the textures were so poor. I like the look of the game overall but it's kind of inconsistent at spots, making me wonder why it barely manages to keep 30 fps. The texture work seems really spotty overall, strange considering I thought Dark Souls on the PC with Durante's mod had really intricate textures throughout.

They're all like that. Some are particularly resistant to a certain element or status effect, so watch out for those, and switch on when needed. But the Yharnam hunter set is solid much of the time.

To be honest, I never really found any real upgrades and I'm almost level 100. Each piece of armor seems more situational than anything. Or whatever looks coolest.

I get the feeling there's not going to be any clear cut good upgrades, only side grades that cover defenses differently. Which is good, allows people to wear what they want, and without an encumberance system it makes sense.

I figured this was the case. Time to start switching it up more.

Accidentally killed the NPC
in the Forbidden Woods. I mistook him for an enemy and by the time I realized my mistake, he had turned into a giant lightning werewolf. Hope he wasn't important.

Also, I switched from the Saw Cleaver to
Ludwig's Holy Blade. Once you upgrade it, the stat scaling is great, but the move-set can be more than a little slow.

The only boss I died a handful of times to was the Blood-starved Beast, and that was largely due to an initial lack of supplies. I'm currently up to the Shadows of Yharnam boss, going to attempt them tomorrow.

So what area should I go to after the (3rd boss spoiler)
Blood Starved Beast
? I've tried to go to mulitple areas, and I get killed in almost every one. My best bet as of now looks like the area
that you get to by going under the healing church and then opening the gate near the Cathedral Ward.
Is that where I should go?

Axebro here also. That R2 charge is amazing.

Each person is different but the Chapel seems to be the safest. As you talk to the NPC's, they both indicate something being wrong with the reason they want you to send people over. There could be some crazy setup FROM has going that might not be apparent until others find it out and share.

These guys get destroyed by anything. I used +6 whip on them with fire and it was over really fast on first try. I found the
witch
fight harder.

Did you already go through the
Forbidden Forest?

I'm really not sure, is that the area
with tons of dudes with guns, that leads to the crazy ladies dancing around the dead corpse pile and the evil spirits that spawn, etc? If so, yes, I beat the boss at the end and it seemed like a dead end.

If that's not it, then no.

No you're talking about the witches. The forbidden forest is where you need to go next. Look for a door to it in the cathedral ward, in the same area where you went to go fight Amelia. You need a password. It's underground.

No password. I've had my beckoning bell going since I entered.

Alright I'm in and ringing.

I'm starting to understand the Chalice Dungeon mechanics.

Normal Chalice - set layout, one per each player
Root Chalice - different dungeon everytime you do a rite

I still don't understand what Rite Materials are. Don't have any yet.

I've died a handful of times to the BSB, but fighting him is such a weirdly pleasant experience at this point. The trip to the boss door from the lantern is such a classic Souls path. I like the little things like that.

The fight itself led to an amazing bit of insight. Realising that
it was preferable to fight in the centre of the arena, rather than around the columns, floored me. It completely contradicts my usual Souls playstyle. It was kind of humbling, to be the one who kept getting caught behind pillars and the like after doing that to the AI ever since the Maneaters. It's hard to articulate how impressed and surprised I am that the designers managed to pull off a complete game changer like that all while makingn it seem completely effortless and natural. So much respect.

Ah I remember that place too. Thing is I don't recall getting a "password" but I'll go back there anyhow.

Yes, if you got to the boss then you already opened it...

On your way to the third boss, when going through town, there is a tower with a circular staircase. Go all the way up it, and you'll unlock a door there. So when you spawn in, you can go straight and just roll down to the unlocked door.

It is possible to miss this shortcut. If you're blind ;)

Returned to the second boss fight area and saw the coolest thing
two npc hunters going at it
. This is why I love these games.

Opened up a shortcut in Old Yharnham...but it's pretty far out from the original lamp. And then I died exploring further trying to find something closer. Wah!

Hmm, thanks I had heard that sending them to
the Clinic turns some of them into monsters?

So I beat the first boss and can't figure out where to go next. I mean, I know the general vicinity...
I went down under the Cathedral, and there's a tall ladder that I see going from the upper level all the way down to where I need to get to, but I can't find the ladder when I climb back up topside. Is it near that door I knock on but can only answer "no" to at present?

Someone wanna help me with the Hemick Charnel Lane boss? My bell is ringing but no one is showing up. Level 33 by the way. I would really appreciate it! D:

Old Yharnam is actually pretty easy to run through if you're talking about the gated shortcut with the ladder. Only thing to look out for is the gunner, so go up to him and
knock him off with gun blasts over and over
.

I'm super early into the game but I have no idea what a Spectre is. I click it and nothing happens and then it disappears from the ground.

These are the 'bloodstains' of this game, they show a replay of another player as they die. Sadly they're basically broken right now and barely show up.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of stuff chewed them up. But damn was it hilarious just getting in a corner and knocking everyone on their ass again and again.
