I honestly believe this is my favorite "souls" game. I havent played Demons so i cant comment there. My only complaints are the loot feels lame except for C
ainhurst
and chalice dungeons feel lame in co op having to re summon on each floor.

Finished it about an hour ago. Damn, what a ride.

The only thing I have to complain about is I only found two weapons with decent Skill scaling, and one of them was the weapon I choose in the beginning of the game.
There aren't that many weapons from what I've gathered and most are fairly normalized so peeps can work on play style moreso than looking for an OP weapon. I still use the starting cleaver since I like the way it slices. Makes quick work of pretty much everything.

There is a strong emphasis on dodging and stunning vs straight overpowering foes. Tells from enemy and boss attacks are a lot longer than I'm used to seeing in Souls games which gives a lot more time to setup counters. Other than environment/camera issues bosses are fairly straight forward.

PvP benefits the most from this bit of normalization I'm seeing. Fights aren't so lopsided with crazy weapons. Then again this is the first week. I'm sure people will have the meta down soon enough.

For me, the hardest part of the game is the intricacy of level design. The connectedness is great but shit if I aren't being pulled in every direction when I see multiple paths haha.

I'm curious on what happens to BB in terms of the PVP side of things. I feel with what your working with isn't as "numerous" as the Soul games in terms of making trick builds.

I don't see a "Giantdad" type of thing that happened in Dark 1 happen here. Well see tho new game new meta.

so why on my first couple characters were the doors to the house in the hunters dream locked but the first time i went there on a new playthrough they were open?

I've found an elevator that I believe acts as a short cut to
Father G
, but the levers at the top and bottom don't function. Is this right? Do I need to worry about the doors closing if I take it up to the closest lamp, go to Hunter's Dream, and come back to ride it down to the boss?

Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls >>>>>> Dark Souls II.

That is all.
QFT.

Woaaah what the fuck at the
Church Workshop Cthulhlu face enemy's grab. Did it suck my Insight? What was that status effect that was flashing?
Yes. They got me three times. Down to 29 insight. :(

Are we trusting iosefka or the lady in the tomb?
Huge spoilers:
I just found a path to the clinic. It was...not pretty inside. I had to put Iosefka down.

Nah just step inside. The levers only work to summon the elevator when it's not on that floor.

PVP is stupid in this game, IMO. I've done some invasions/getting invaded in the frontier -- and while I'm proud to be 7-0 so far, the fights just weren't fun. healing is so fast, dashing and running are so fast, it's really impossible to stop people from running away and healing. if you actually have a numbing mist (which aren't easy to get, so you can't figure them into your standard pvp setup) and manage to land it, they can easily enough just bolt away.

every pvp fight is just a war of attrition to see who runs out of heals/gets bored first. you hvae to burn through 8 health bars to win.

and since you don't even spawn with potions like with estus in dark souls, if you want to keep pvping you need to go through 4 loading screens to farm and come back.

All of this would be one thing, but it's compounded by the lack of builds and items in the game. every character is essentially the same, being that there are no spells or miracles and very few weapons and no armor or poise. there's no builds to try out and try against other people. everyone's basically the same.

Damn, that huge dude in
Cathedral Ward
when you go up that staircase to get the
Monocular
is killing me. Gun does nothing!

Any tips on
the second Undead Giant in the Chalice Dungeon? This one doesn't have two sickle hands, but one sickle and a hammer.

I keep getting one shotted. ):

Naw I beat him but shit man.

The... fuck? Spoilers regarding this:

When he grabbed me, I frenzied and he dropped me and I died from the fall.

I forgot about him, found the door later on after doing other shit, and when he picked me up... I didn't fight him right away, that's for sure. I also didn't die.

No. I assume you needed to kill the hunter to get these? I attacked the hunter but they were too strong, so I forgot about them for a while, after which they were gone when I went to look for them again.

Either kill her or do her quest line. I killed her since her events can be bugged.

Stick to close range, they telegraph all the attacks.

You have to ride it from the bottom first, no need to pull a lever, just step right in it. Then both levers will be functional from that point to call the elevator if it isnt already on the level you want it.

I feel like the PvP aspect was a secondary thought in Bloodborne from what I've seen so far

won't be as 'deep' and varied, the actual fights could be more satisfactory though with the new mechanics

Welp :\

NPC Spoiler
Eileen the Crow died while I was fighting off that hunter she was with in the Tomb of Oedon. I'm sad. Guess I miss out on her quest this run.

Man, so many people just killed her! D:

I wanted her alive since she is super cool, plus you get way more rewards for doing it like being able to
join her covenant.

So you can't quick swap Molotovs?

Push some buttons :)

Bottom DPad changes between all of the items on the bottom row of the Start inventory.

Spoiler mechanic (SORT OF, theres a tip in Hunter's Rest if you look)
Up on the dpad drains a chunk of health (smaller than a blood vial) for 5 blood bullets.

Ok don't judge me. I'm begging for my next lantern. I'm past that first giant bonfire and I see a few avenues to go. I think if I die and have to go back I may just lose it. I'm not built for this.

Father G is just the darkest i've ever felt in a video game ever.

Just a constant reminder of how insignificant my character no just in the game but in life.
