If you're having trouble with Orochimaru's disciples I'd hang back for a summon to help out since their attention will be divided making it easier to separate and manage them.

I have two areas left before I go take out the boss that will shift things into the later portion of the game.

Name of that boss is

in case anyone wants to know. Best to wrap up any sub quests you have before engaging.

Weird how different bosses are tough for different people.

, I'd killed nearly every boss on my first or second try. Running out of vials after attempt number 2 on him definitely made things tougher though. That was not a fun discovery.
 
For the guys who are from Souls games, people talk about dedicated PVP characters, why would I want another character just for PVP instead of having one character. Even if it gets harder to level up in the game why wouldn't it make sense for a person just to continue to level up all his stats until max if possible. Why is there a meta level? I am genuinely curious and not criticizing, I just want to understand.

I was trying to kill the creatures and avoid getting caught in that bind spell when the witch I killed suddenly ressurected and had 25% health. Eventually, both witches appeared out of nowhere, trapped me in a bind, and started gnawing on me or something until I died. What a confusing boss. No idea whats going on.

In my head I tell myself this is a spiritual successor to the Castlevania series. Doing what Konami obviously could not do. Bring horror and monsters properly into 3D.

This game is almost perfect.
 
So far, I like Bloodborne's areas/levels better, but I liked Dark Soul's bosses much better.

I haven't seen anything yet, that comes close to Quelaag or O&S, in terms of memorability.

Okay this is getting on my nerves. I'm at the
Spider Boss
been trying for several hours to get the guy down, but so far no luck. Finally tried my luck at Beckoning, but no-one is seems to be around. I could be overleveled but even so, it is still frustrating. Usually setting network to World Wide seems to work, but this area in particular just doesn't have any takers.

The bandage guy is outside by the carriage.
I had the girl and old lady die on me in there, and I sent the crow to Iosefka's...and I think she died too. Now the girls older sister is where she used to be at her house, asking where her sister is >.>
 
Any tips against Vicar Amelia?

Just got my shit pushed in.

It's really hard to dodge with the camera freaking out all the time when you're locked on.
 
So in the courtyard near the
Ward, with the two big guys, you go through an archway and there's this fish-head looking guy. There's only one though. What the fuck is that?

Starting to try Chalice Dungeons. I swear I saw a boss model from Dark Souls as an enemy in there. Also, fought a boss that was on fire that reminded me of Devil May Cry demon boss (only due to flame, that's it).

So badass, despite being unable to find the damned exit after killing a boss on Depth 3. It'll help replayability a TON. It's obviously the way to farm Insight, too, although I dunno if it'd let me do it all again on a new generated dungeon and get more Insight.

Remember the busted door by one of the wolves? Its next to the tunnel with smoke and a hooded beast. Go through that door and unlock the gate at the top of the tower. From the beginning area, run straight and drop down from the roof.

Make sure you have the Camera Auto-Adjust off, in the options. It prevents the camera from going through walls and that's what causes it to freak out and disorient you.
 
Hunters don't feel very fun to fight. They all seem to have a truck load of HP. This Chikage guy at the church is such a pain.

Suddenly there's Lovecraftian horrors everywhere the sky is fucked and everyone's losing it
This game really is fucking fantastic in the ambience. I was not ready for this, everything's actually really scary now.

G is a parry riposte skill check except they put in all of these
tombstones
 that I parry into and get hit because I'm stuck on the environment.

Yup, that happened to me. I was level 67 when I beat him, not sure if that helps you or not.

I had to summon help to do it. Not that my partner did much (and managed to get himself killed just before I got the killing blow-in). Didn't feel bad about using my first summon at all either. Fuck that boss.

Yeah, I just got there myself. A true "Shit's getting real" moment, for sure.
 
In OT1 I said I was having a difficult time with the game and had buyers remorse. But you guys told me to stick with it and I did. I learned the mechanics, got better gear, unlocked paths beat the first boss on my third attempt and the second boss on my second. I'm now greatly enjoying the game, so thanks GAF!

come back home. about to beat vicar amelia. stagger her. crit her. my character falls through level. quit game. reload. shes just standing there. cant do damage to her. must exit. FUCK THIS WORLD AND THIS GLITCH
 
is there any gun that does more damage than the regular starting pistol (aside from the repeating pistol, which I have trouble with because I don't like its ammo consumption)? I took the plunge, I've started cranking up bloodtinge...

also, vaati posted a video on pvp. as some of you know, I have pvped quite a bit already -- in the frontier. so far undefeated. whereas I was angry and turned off by the healing, vaati recognized the issue but was positive about it and seemed to be having fun. maybe I need an attitude adjustment.

How long till you can get the other gear you're offered at the beginning? I made another file to try out the pistol and it's a billion times better. Blunderbuss can stun a group of enemies but you can only visceral attack one. That's literally the only advantage I've noticed so far :/

Yeah dude, I tired summoning a few times and everyone just dies on the regular
spiders
. Did just get it down to like 1/4 health but I got greedy and a little
spider
jumped on my head.


Also I seem under leveled compared to you, what the hell did I miss?

Very soon, and they're not expensive at all.
 
OK, so this ass up on the tower with the GG? WTH? When I get up he mauls me but I am scared he will fall off and I will lose his loot so I keep trying to keep him centered but then he shoots me 54 times and I die. What is the best way to take him out?
 
Anyone else having problems connecting to the servers?

Maybe is my Internet that's fucked....

Knocking him off is the best way to deal with him. Then quit out of the game and reload, his loot will be right next to the gun.
