Wow, I am not sure what happened, looks like strange glitch at 2nd boss
Been fighting father G yesterday evening - I quickly got him to 20 % health with several strong combos. Is his third form, he jumped, molotov hit him and he just went into the sky and never came back... Prey slaughtered
. Too bad that I was too happy with this that I did not save a video recording :D

I feel that was an unnecessary spoiler about the final boss.
I think I read a spoiler about the final boss earlier too. The rest of the sentence looked like it was about an early game boss and then BAM.

Everybody, spoiler tags don't work if you don't say what's in them.

I've lost way too many Echos to Father G. The stain is impossible to see during the fight. It's ridiculously frustrating and makes the fight so incredibly unfun to me.

I've never lost this many Souls to any boss in any of these games.

Yeah, you're missing out
Amygdala and DarkBeast Paal
, the former of which is in a really cool and unique looking area. You'll likely level up a fair bit by doing that first. The second boss is easier to get too if you've already found the 'secret' area that he's in. Actually, both require
an abduction of sorts
so the areas are missable.

Thanks, Wanna go do both now, I assume
DarkBeast Paal
is in the
Prison area that the dude with sacks take you too?. Last time I went a pig one shooted me so I figured it was best to save it for later

I need to learn to stay out of this thread, but it's hard to. Already spoiled quite a few bosses and areas unintentionally. Oh well.

My thoughts so far:

This game is really hard. Like, I don't if it's because I'm not good, but I like learning the most efficient way to complete an area. Lots of trial and error.

I wish there was a tutorial or something at least. The game throws you right into the action with little explaination. I only just figured out how to use my weapons lol.

The little notes from other players were a surprise and are very helpful. Very unique.

Graphics aren't too bad. And there's a framerate patch coming too? Cool. I feel like 60fps should be possible, but oh well. I feel like DS2 looks better on PS4.

Only thing keeping me from playing a lot is the load times, but a patch is coming for this too, right? Cool.

Easiest way is to just
ignore the small spiders and focus on nuking the boss

I did that and finally managed it. Someone else here is claiming that it's easiest just to kill all the spiderlings every time and then focus the boss. That may be true, but fuck me if that isn't tedious as shit.

It takes three hits to kill each spider, and there's like 12 of them. That's a lot of boring mob slaughter inbetween the actual boss fight. Just doesn't strike me as a particularly great boss anyway.

Not to mention the fact that I'm still convinced that the tracking on his missiles is just plain borked right now.

Jesus Christ.

FINALLY found the boss of the Forgotten Woods -- YoS. Easy as shit, first try. Just parried the entire time and avoided the spell-caster until the end.

The Forgotten Woods is seriously a gigantic cluster fuck. My least favorite zone so far just due to the labyrinthian nature.

So I'm using Ludwigs Holy blade. I wanted to ask a question, There's 3 attack stats, one for Physical ATK, then Blunt, and lastly Thrust.

I know Thrust is your R2, but I wanted to know what's category does the L2(when using 2handed) and R1 go under?

So I just beat the game...Tags, deploy!

I'm not going to complain about the boss, because hes a great fight, but the ending was a bit sudden. I'm thinking I simply got a bad ending, because I missed out on things.

Is there another ending?

I'd say they are about even, depending on the bosses you're comparing. Certainly not MUCH easier, at least not to me.

For me, Bloodborne's bosses are several orders of magnitude easier. Solo, none have taken more than 5 tries, almost all of them done in 2.

Quelaag in DS alone killed me more times than all of Bloodborne's bosses put together, so far. I don't think I ever would have been able to beat O&S without summoning another player...

I die a lot more in between bosses, in Bloodborne, though. A lot more.

Love fighting dudes with a torch in one hand, melee weapon in another. Makes me feel like Aragorn fighting the Riders.

Very productive night. Beat machine gunner bro, unlocked a couple of shortcuts in Old Yharnam, and bought the 10k badge because I could not for the life of me figure out the other way.

Supposedly there are three endings.

Yup. You don't need to go outside to the
pigs
though. Just go downstairs once, go through the first door and RUN. Ignore everything and run. You'll make it to the boss real quick. Or take your time and kill everything first so that, should you die to the boss, you have a mild shortcut open (there's a few locked gates that make running forward without clearing the area first somewhat more tricky).

Also, the
pigs
are easy to kill. If you have the axe, just use your charged spin. Kills them in one hit (well, the two hits of the spin technically). You need to dodge once and their recovery window is more than long enough for you to dash in and charge up the heavy attack. There's two of those enemies by the way. Be careful not to aggro both.

I've had WAY more trouble with the enemies than the actual bosses. I feel like I've one shot more than half the bosses I've fought so far.

Can someone explain the Chalice to me? Is it just a procedurally generated challenge dungeon? Is there a limit to the amount of times you can run it? I have a vague idea from the OP and trailers, but I'm still not 100% sure about it.

Same here. Of course, the only boss that's been spoiled for me is what I assume is the final one. Really wish I didn't know, but there's nothing I can do now. It's all about the journey with these games anyways, and it's actually made me start piecing together the lore and making up theories about stuff, so I'm not too upset.

only boss in DS that gave me fits was ornstein and smough

i personally feel the bosses are harder in bloodborne (so far)

yes you need all three umbilical cords and fight again to see

I took out the first boss last night in two tries, and the second one tonight first try (all 20 vials haha), and along with The guy on the roof tonight. I only died tonight when I violently swung and
fell off the roof along with him.
(Trying to be as little descriptive as possible since I don't know how to spoiler tag on the iPhone)

Fake edit: think I figured out the tagging haha

I'll ask agian since nobody answered me. Where do I go after beating BSB? I bought the key that was 10,000. Im not even sure where to place that, or if Im on the right track. Some one help please

There's a pattern. Kill all the little spiders one by one, then hit Rom until he teleports, repeat until dead. It's not like the little spiders spawn infinitely or anything.

Rushdown is easier. Killing the spiders is slow and you have to deal with the blue crystals.

edit: and you blow through vials as well

YOOOOOOOOO! Welp, time to begin the hunt again.

I just beat
Rom
and go to the
unseen village
. How much longer have I got? Because I've done everything else I can and only have 16 hours on the clock. The game seems substantially shorter than DkS if I'm genuinely reaching the final areas, especially if there's no more archstones to unlock.

Or are there more behind that gate in the hunter's dream that I can't open?

At least I haven't done any of the Chalice dungeons yet. That should give me plenty more play-time regardless.

Well after starting out well tonight, I ended in a complete comedy of errors.

Spoilers about an area around the Cathedral Ward, involving other hunters, a burlap sack, and awful surprises.

So after exploring the Healing Church Tower, I decided to run up the Cathedral steps as I figured there was a boss at the top. Sure enough, I ended up fighting the Vicar Amelia, and died pretty swiftly because I couldn't find the parry window for her attacks (if there even is one.)

So I decide I'll run up and try one more time - except, I end up dashing to the right to avoid the big stick guys on the stairs, and find another side way to go and explore, so figure why not. Run into an electric club hunter who I manage to defeat fairly easily. Then a hunter with a shotgun beats the living shit out of me, in a test of attrition I use up all my blood vials and get him down to a sliver of health but then one of his shotgun blasts gets me before I can get him and I die.

I go back, throw poison knives at him from the roof and watch the fucker die in agony, and get my souls back. I'm happy. Except I decide to explore a bit further beyond the shotgun hunter, and immediately get punched in the face and one-hit killed. Shit. Well, I'll just run back, grab all those delicious hunter souls and restock before I take on Amelia again?

Nope. I wake up with a burlap sack over my head in a village somewhere. Well, I just have to escape and find my way back to my blood echoes. Except nope, I get surprised walking down a stairway and some little enemy grabs me and one-hit kills me with a vicious slicing of my throat. Ugh. So all the souls I got from the hunters are gone.

Well, at least I can escape now, right? Except...I find a tunnel to escape, turn left...and run right the fuck into another boss fight, Mr. Paarl I presume - and he flattens me even quicker than Amelia did.

I'm going to bed now, because I'm getting my ass handed to me progressively more and more as I keep trying to explore and now I'm super low on blood vials and other supplies, with no blood echoes in my inventory right now and who knows when I'm going to be able to get back to the Hunter's Dream.

What a night. At least I beat BSB with no problem.

I feel the opposite. Queelag only took me a few tries, and I was cursed for the fight.

O&S was frustrating, but mostly because DaS is not a game that favors mobility.

There's a massive locked door below where you fought two hunters, one of whom wielded an electric mace - when you try to open the door, a black swirling blob appears. Walk into it. That'll transport you the rest of the way in a somewhat bizarre fashion
