I don't think I've ever had as hard of a time in any Souls boss as this one, but finally beat it. Jesus Christ. I was underleveled apparently, but for sure what hurt me is not having the items to stop healing. But I did it. I can finally move on. Also went ahead and stocked up on blood and bullets, leveled up and I'm now at a comfortable level.

Combat is much better than Souls. I would find it hard to go back to Souls combat after this.

What does BB add to combat? It takes away the option for players to play defensively. Riposte is the same. Critical attacks are less consistent. Magic is gone.

It adds a little more offensive flexibility in exchange for all defensive play and magic.

Back to farming because the healing system went backwards.

I love the atmosphere and art. I don't like the choices in gameplay design. I think it's a step back.

They're different styles of games that follow the same template. Don't know if one is better than other. It's a matter of taste I guess. I'm just coming off demon's souls so I don't mind the blood vials.

Is PVP as terrible as Id imagine? I hate fighting gun enemies.

Edit: Don't know how anyone can say the bells and vials aren't a step back from dark souls lol. One of the worst parts of the game for sure. That and style variety.

Someone mentioned the pistol doesn't have the aiming delay the blunderbuss has. Makes sense, but never thought about it. I just went for the iconic saw cleaver blunderbuss combo when I started. The pistol still has the same stun effect, right? I might have to get rid of my 'buss and get a pistol.

I honestly preferred using a Blunderbuss for stunning bosses over the pistol, but I find that the pistol is more useful against regular enemies.

So if I have a bloodstain I need to collect and quit the game, it's gone every time I come back. Is anyone else having this problem? This is a bug right?

If I'm a theaded cane (+3) user, will spending points on strength be of any benefit for me? It's currently on 12 and skill at 21.

Not sure how people think this is better than dark souls. I just don't see it.

The speed of the enemies, and the speed of the player character definitely(fighting father G is such a rush).

Along with the atmosphere, the story oddly being engrossing, we have a surefire contender for GOTY.

I won't say its better than Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, but i won't say its worse either. Its simply a different type of game in that same lineage. Yarhnam is just as addicting to me and inspired as both Boletaria and Lordran. Drangleic was just too samey for my tastes

But isn't that the point. To cater to a whole other style, while the people who like to play more defensively with many magic options will still have those options in Dark Souls 3?

I like the faster movement and the idea of shooting strategically to crit enemies, but it would be better if more bosses were more easily susceptible to this. I don't think I've been able to use the gun to crit against a boss besides Father G. They each bring something to the table. DS has more variety to battle, while bloodborne forces you to go melee.

VA is kicking my ass so hard. Probably my favorite boss design in these games, though.

Fuck this boss. Make sure you keep those items that
stop people from healing
or it will be a bitch. Then again I didn't have problems with other bosses once I switched to my second char, until this one. And seriously fuck it. Best advice I can give you from a guy who had to fight her like 20 times is to perfect the dodge.

I'll try beating the Cleric beast tomorrow. I gotta sleep now and I lost quite a bit of blood echoes... Oh god! Souls flashbacks :'(

What do you recommend to beat the Cleric beast?

The bells are fine, way better than the soapstones imo. The real problem is the system doesn't work. Broadbandit and I tried all night to co op, but even with the same password it never connected. If it actually worked right, it would be fine, just ring the bell when you need help, or ring it if you wanna help, but most of the time it takes forever to connect to anyone.

Vials I dont really mind I have like 60 in stock right now, they drop like crazy from everything and even when I'm chugging them I never usually run out. If you do need to farm though, the load times make it unbearable.

There is magic in the game. You have to find them. We still don't know much about the game.

I think it's on par with, if not better than Dark Souls. The world and lore are so much more interesting to me, and the art design is some of the best I've ever seen. Gameplay feels just as good as DS too. Not necessarily better, just different.

Holy fuck this fourth boss. Man, I'm gonna have a hard time, especially if I'm
stuck in this prison and can't farm for blood vials.

Thats not the fourth boss. You might want to leave there asap after you find the lantern
(its right upstairs from the cells)

Martyr
is kicking my ass, can get him to 20% or so most of the time, but then something tiny will happen that'll screw me. Hardest boss fight for me so far.

For those of you who've finished, how long did it take you?

If I'm at the
forbidden woods
, about how far along am I?

Screamed in delight when I beat Celtic Beast. Woke up the entire house. I finally realize why these games are popular. I'm spent for the day, going to bed.

Fuck. Just lost 22k echoes to one of those fat assholes with the axes.

Total BS. I parryed it twice, but his attack still kept hitting me. By the time I recovered to try a visceral attack, he became unstunned and did a crazy long combo.

Done for the night before I get more pissed.
