Am I crazy or does this game have longish 'action queue'? What I mean by that is for example when I try to dodge in panic and press the button twice rapidly. Character does two dodge moves and the second one feels laggy, because the button press was not done in that instant.

Otherwise loving this game :)

It's even longer in dark souls. BB is more responsive in this manner.

Shu just retweeted a GameSpot article talking about looking into patching Bloodborne for faster load times. That's probably a good thing.

i bet he's super annoyed with it as well since he plays these games. he probably sent some executive orders to have this fixed asap lol

God I love sitting through 20 second+ loading screens after being killed.

Really does wonders to calm my mood
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I beat the 3rd boss, and went to some tower and ended up fighting these guys that shoot this paralyzing white mist or w/e and killed me, but i revived in a prison and EVERYONE is wrecking me in every direction. I think I accidentally stumbled here without leveling up. Accidentally found another electric boss as well and got one shotted. Hmmmm, and I cant leave....welp, looks like its a good time to shelf this game.

If you keep climbing the stairs up from the cell you start in, you will find a lantern.

You should link the original OT just for the awesomeness that was it's first few posts.

Question about an npc side quest.
For Eileen the Crow where do I have to meet her to continue the quest line? I really want the armor set and I just helped her kill a hunter near Father G boss area. Where do I need to look for her now?

Im not exactly sure how it works but at some point try and go to the lantern in the Grand Cathedral. If it says "not functioning" then use the Cathedral Ward lantern and make your way to Grand Cathedral.

You should see Eileen injured by the entrance. Be prepared to fight a tough hunter! Check to see if you can warp to the Grand Cathedral lantern after every boss you kill!

Normally I use that time to find out where my controller went off to.

Damn thing is slippery.

3rd boss is a brick wall for me. I can't tell how I'm supposed to get hits in. If I get remotely close he starts an attack and I have to dash away. This Attack can be a multi hit combo that is really hard to dodge. If I do dodge, I'm too far away to hit and it repeats.

This is mostly after he rages out at half healh or whatever.

Damn.

Feels like there is nowhere else I can even go and no lantern in sight either.

Gat Damn

I can't beat bsb to save my life ugh so frustrated using all my bullets and antidote lol
Don't use bullets. Use patience, and know which way to dodge. Also open up the shortcut. One or two hits max. When he goes level 3 keep dashing backwards and throw molotovs. Also, if your poison meter is filling up in level 2, stay back until it goes down.

First two bosses were disappointingly easy for me. CB reminded me so much
Taurus Demon
from DS1, except more room to maneuver. Killed it first try easy. FG had me going a bit at first, but once I learned how to parry his strikes he went down like a chump on my second go. His two handed axe strike is a mean one, though. Glad it's easy to dodge.

So far, I can see why people who played Dark Souls turtling behind a shield would find this game hard. It's basically designed around the exact opposite tactic. Since I played mostly light to medium armor, heavily dodging and only using the shield sparingly, I've adapted pretty well. Getting the hang of actually pulling off the visceral strikes has been the toughest for me. I can stun enemies pretty easily now, but actually getting up for the big hit is tricky. Maybe I'm stunning from too far away and not leaving myself enough time to get in.

Also, Trick Weapons are great. Love the variety. Started with the Axe and loved the way I could adjust between short range and parrying and longer range for large groups. Then I got the Kirkhammer and instantly fell in love. That weapon is such the perfect mix. Going to be hard to get me switch back off.

Awesome, thank you! I haven't hit that area yet but I will keep a look out for it. :)

My progress after first 4 bosses tonight:

Helped about 5 or so people kill the BSB. Then...

I went witch hunting... easy peasy. Explored the woods, avoided the poison lake with giants wandering and oh my god the snakes! But still one shot the 3 Shades boss. Was preparing for a boss who poisons to hell and back so I stack that stat up... didn't matter. Casually walk into the next area... get mind and head fucked (literally) from a bug headed freak. Kill it though but, NOPE I'm done for tonight.

Areas were quite diverse from the Cathedral town but less interesting. Hoping to see some more structured enironments in the future. Amazing time though, the atmosphere is stellar.

This cleric beast is whooping my ass. Im trying to see if i can beat the fucker w/o popping a molly but i cannot.

Any strategies for dealing with Rom? Doing hit and runs isn't super effective since his aoe is so powerful and almost always gets me anyway. Can you parry him?

YES, FINALLY YOU FUCKER. The goddamn Cleric Beast is toast. Second try too. Holy shit what an intense fight...

This is my first "Souls" experience so I haven't encountered anything like this before. The absolutely epic music kicked in, I was in all out beast mode. Masterful dodging, molotovs flying everywhere, blood vials being downed like cold shots.

My body was literally tensed up during the fight. I honestly can say I understand Souls fans now. This is something special.

Yeeeeaaaaaaaaah, buddy!

THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT. FUCK THIS FUCKING HUNTER EILEEN WAS FIGHTING.

I'M DONE WITH THIS SHIT.

I loved Dark Souls but it had some lame, janky areas in the second half of the game. Bloodborne gets better and better as you progress. That's what is putting it over the top for me right now

This also does put me in the mood for the DS2:Scholar of the First Sin remaster. I miss my lightning bolts and sunbros

This fucking CUNT that was fighting Eileen is IMPOSSIBLE.

Are you talking about the final final one? The one with a katana? If so, there's an easy trick to it. Just let her drain her HP when she 2hands the katana so she wastes her one and only vial. Then lead her to the staircase and throw poison knives until she's poisoned and just play it safe. Repeat as needed.

No the first one, in the graveyard.

You can, they don't do much to it. Duck and Roll. Name of the game.

Is he more vulnerable from behind? I felt that my strikes were hitting harder back there. Maybe I was just getting more in.

He's super slow. Just roll behind him when he tries to attack you, get a few strikes in and repeat when he turns around was my strategy.

so axe vs the blade? I've gotten spoiled by the axe
which blade are you referring to?

and I guess I get spoiled by the axe too. I tried Kirkhammer for a bit and didn't like it at all. It has way less range, less damage, and slower speed (in the hammer form) than the axe. Ugh I am considering selling it back. There should have been a training mode to test weapon in this game.

Hey can you put down summon requests yet? If so tell me where to go and I'll help you out. Quote the first post for the watchword and set it in Bloodborne's network settings.,

I'll try but I havent had any luck with matching with friends at all today.

He's in the graveyard where you fought Father G.

EDIT: Can't even use the beckoning bell for this area since I already cleared it so nvm.

I was like that at first, then I got used to the KH and upgraded it a little. The hammer form hits a huge group of enemies really hard. It's got a great sweep on L2 and the charge can take a huge chunk of damage off of anyone if you can pull it off. Combine that with the speed of the sword and it's a great mix. it's a little harder to take large groups, but the basic hammer attacks can work really well once you get the timing down.
