Bloodborne |OT2| Praise The Moon

Will be waiting for me when I get home. My body is ready.

I played Demons souls for a time before I got stuck. Hope I stick with this more, but given the community I know I can rely on others at least to save me from despair.
 
Can't wait until people master parrying items. I win two PvP matches with visceral attacks from people attempting that run and heal mess.

It is pretty much the coolest thing that I've found. Hope there are more completely secret areas like that. One of my favorite things about DS1 is how it would hide complete zones from you and if you missed them, you missed them. Games just don't do that any more and want to make sure everyone sees every part of the game that was made.

Don't forget to buy that DS hip lantern, it looks so damn good and is useful should you use TH a lot like I do.

ill have the game by like 4:30 but finally!!

I hope this never happens again. We should all be getting simultaneous WW releases!!!

the Crow got rekt by that hunter. One NPC less I guess. :( And no
stamina rune
for me.

Worst part was that I let the hunter live because I thought she might respawn in this case. Guy was impossible to kill without massive cheesing afterwards, totally OP.

alright so I've fallen into the rabbit hole. I beat the witch and it is now dark. So I went back into Yharnam and started talking to the citizens again. I was tasked to go to the right of the Great Cathedral and find an old abandoned church and I would be given something of strength. I was then given a Tonsil Stone.

I thought I had found it but then there was this closed door in a big room with something in the middle. One of those swirling Fury causing black hole looking things would come at you by the door. So I figured what the hell and went into the black hole thing. Some weird fucking creature is what is grabbing me and then I am awakened in some kind of weird ass school or theatre. I get out of there and was then in the Nightmare Frontier getting invaded by people and whatnot. I'm now back in the dream refuge but have no idea what this item does or where I need to go.

Anyone know?
 
My copy didn't arrive yesterday. I don't work Thursdays but I remembered I'd had it sent to the office, so I made a special trip in to collect it and it wasn't bloody here. Should be here today, I hope, and then I'll get cracking with it tonight.

Pretty sure that's exactly what the item was suppose to do.

Just bought the axe too. Same damage as my cane currently so I'll need to get a feel for which I prefer before I start levelling either too much (cane is already fortified twice and I'm skill 14, strength 11
 
Is it just me or is the Kirkhammer actually ass? It has good values but is too slow in sword form and lacks poise. I went back to my trusty bone saw and it is way better.

Hammer is great for backstabs though.

I think a lot of enemies just have blunt resistance or something. I don't like using it, but it's by far my favorite design of the weapons. Do the R1, L1, R1, L1 transformation combo and don't tell me that's not badass.

Are there actually backstabs in this game? I'm oly able to do the ones where you "parry" an attack, and then hit them in the face

I can only pull backstabs off if I do a holding R2 attack on an enemy from the back, which means I snuck up on them. The same sound and attack animation happens as if you parry them.

Yes, might be connected to the resistances as well, but the sword swings are much slower than the saw, so enemies can easily interrupt your combos which sucks. I like the moveset as well though, especially R2 is useful. edit: transformation combos are badass indeed!

Sneak up, charge R2, then R1 the stunned enemy.
 
I finally just got really into the game today after finally getting my Japanese copy yesterday. Loved Demon Souls, and while i have them, for some reason I haven't gotten much into the Dark Souls games yet, but wow I am really enjoying Bloodborne so much. The feeling I got playing Demons Souls the first time is coming back with this game. Its really as good as all the hype made it out to be. Im glad I got a nice long break the next week and half so that I can put a lot of time into it. Just a great experience so far.
 
This game is labyrinthine as fuuuuuck. The relatively uniform look of areas doesn't help. The only thing I miss from DS. Every zone was very distinctive.

There's an argument to be made here for strong stylistic cohesion, but it makes navigation a little tricky.

Maybe I should use those fun little coins.

Lol still got spanked by the good father. He didn't give a shit about that tree, just fucked me up right through it. Will persevere though with the extra reach of the axe (at least it feels like longer reach than the whip cane)

Bloodborne actually seems quite linear comparatively to DS games to me. There's not really been more than 2 options for where I can go in Bloodborne, and several times there only been one place to go. Kind of miss the branching paths in the DS games tbh, among other things.

And the souls games have their fair share of aggressive enemies and bosses to.

I could use some help through a chalice dungeon.

If anyone's around level 78 my chalice glyph is ym655yqa.
I'll be waiting in the first hallway with the beckoning bell going.
 
I think I wanna try some invasions later today. I don't really know anything about the online function yet. Those graves just opened up though, but they seem to be for co-op only? I traded two items that should allow me online interactions with some messenger dudes though.

Also there is no such thing as Soul Memory in this game, right?
