I'm stuck on the first floor. I can't join in on the second where you're at. Since this is considered a different dungeon from mine my progress doesn't carry over.

If you want to head back to the first floor and use the resonant bell we could clear that real quick.

I will give it a try.

Ok so I just started this last night. Is it normal to get to the beginning of the city bit after the clinic and not have found a weapon yet? Though running around karate coping dudes is pretty fun...

No after that first wolf thing kills you in beginning and you wake in hunters dream. the steps leading up to the house will have messengers as you go up stairs. First set gives you the choice of Axe, Saw Cleaver, or Cane. Second set up allows you to pick your Firearm. And at the top by the closed door the give you your notebook to leave messages while online.

Yep. Arcane builds will be a pain in the ass.

I don't understand why there is no automatic refill. It's pointless to make people grab the things manually when you can't be overencumbered.

Arcane builds can be centered around elemental weapons, not just molotov.

Corry to bother you blood-gaf, this might be a stupid question.

Does the vicar drop anything after death, cause i saw someone else post that they got a locket from her, but i didn't get shit.

Golden Locket. Should be in the consumables part of the inventory.

do I only get to play with people close in level to me? If I set the password will I be able to join anyone with that password regardless of level?

Old Yharnam question

i killed the guy at the top of the tower and got his badge, went further and got the ritual blood and opened the shortcut back to this main area

can i get to this yet? it seems like i should be able to but i can't see any path to it

Head up to where the first hunter was (not the machine gun guy). there should be a ledge past some crows that you hop down onto. There's an ambush waiting inside the building so be ready.

I am using Cane...Did i do a wrong choice ?

I am happy with it for now..But i dont know how it will be on bosses :D

I went professional and picked Cane. Been putting alot of points in Vit, skill, and endurance and bosses havnt been much of a problem for me. I love the dex build with all the endurance.

The second boss... man... 5th attempt and failed to kill it although
I think I'm very near as he always turns into a werewolf with almost no remaining health

You should get her golden locket automatically.

Yes, you did.

Consensus on here is that Axe is by far the best weapon. It's R2 charge in long form is godly. I had a friend start a new file today to choose Axe.

I think is varys on playstyle. I prefer fast attacks that may not hit as hard but I like to be very agile.

PSA: try to keep hitting mobs after you killed them for that Health Regain Mechanic. Just cause you killed them doesn't mean you have to stop hitting

he he. go back to the hub world. on stairs leading up to the house their are messengers, they will give you the starting weapon.

it will be patched.
i am main Axe right now but i dont use R2 at all cause its just too broken. Makes me want to sleep.

Yahar'gul Unseen Village
is the first part in the game besides the
grand cathedral hunter
I actually feel challenged by, no frustrated by. I've lost like 30k souls trying to
get through the part with the like 15 women that never stop respawning and the Cthulu demon just shoots a massive laser beam every time I get close.

I did all of
Yahar'gul
and didn't see any
women ringing a bell or something that shoots lasers
. Is there more to the area I didn't find?
Yahar'gul
is where you fight
Paarl
right?

Yeah, they are all viable. I'll probably start a second character to try the Cane.

It's just that the Axe is extremely versatile and does a ton of damage. And unlike previous games, your build doesn't dictate dodging, rolling, and movement speed. So, it's like the best of both worlds.

Suspending the application may be the cause of endless waiting for summoning. I closed the app and found a match within seconds after having had waited for an hour.

Wow, this game has been handing my ass constantly, all the experience and habits acquired by playing the souls games are worth next to nothing in this, it feels so different, fast and aggressive.
Then I finally stumbled on the first boss and killed him in one try. So good.
So far my only gripe is with the CA, I don't mind the load times (maybe thanks to the SSHD). Can't wait to get back home and play some more.

So those
Bell Bitches
are basically bullshit versions of Necromancers? At least Necros only summon Skeletons and stay dead when you kill them.

You missed picking up some things at hunter's dream.

On the other side of the building you'll see two platforms jutting out. Jump to the first one, then drop down from that one

i saw that ledge earlier and then completely forgot about it. Thanks

i made it (bagged) to the
Unseen Village
, this place is creeping of Cthulu at every turn! i both love it and creeped out by it!

Not even shitting you,
the 3 hunters you fight at once, right after that bridge was cake compared to the Cthulu lazer for me lol.
I easily beat them first attempt, the bridge took me like 5 tries lol.

After around 4 hours of grinding and attempting to defeat The cleric I finally did it and it felt great!

I then tried Gascoigne a couple of times and just wanted to test the bell to summon someone. Managed to find someone who came in and destroyed gazza in about 1 minute. Instead of feeling great I just felt dirty.

Will try and do bosses myself from now on.....

You can buy the axe once you beat a boss and then try it out, see how you like it.

I just bought it because I was also worried the cane required too much dancing around and nimble actions - not my preferred style with other souls games, I liked to keep my distance.

Its pretty good - R2 is very powerful and knocks the enemy back which is useful. But it benefits from strength rather than dexterity so levelling up both axe and cane early on will be trickier.

But it isn't that expensive so definitely have a go.

If you want help with a boss fight where do you use the bell?
