I'm so glad BB was released during my Spring Break. I'm aiming to finish the game before class starts up again but I don't see that happening with such a cautious pace.

It's mostly at the very start of the area but yeah it ain't great. In that specific spot I also encountered weird micro-freezes of both video and sound that made me fear my console was dying.
 
After 16 hours or so, I learn pressing and holding circle is sprint. Good to know, lol. :-D

Beat gattlin guy and bsb, now searching for the next challenge.

Had also really bad video and audio stutters in old y. Normally not a guy to complain, but geez.

and I guess I get spoiled by the axe too. I tried Kirkhammer for a bit and didn't like it at all. It has way less range, less damage, and slower speed (in the hammer form) than the axe. Ugh I am considering selling it back. There should have been a training mode to test weapon in this game.

I'm struggling a bit with armor here guys... granted I didn't get very far in the game yet, it seems every armor set I find is just not as good as the
Yarhman Set

Is there a best armor out there I should be looking for?
 
I'll be honest in saying that while I like this game a lot I think it may end up being my least favorite of the Souls series. I actually liked the pacing of sword and board, so to have that removed as a play style is disappointing. I also prefer the design around flasks over an expendable item.

Seems like all the weapons are viable now, including the starter weapons. Still, you may find a weapon in the shop that you like its moveset more, so I would say go for it if you're interested.
 
Besides the cane what is the next skill based weapon I can get my hands on? I'm guessing
Scythe?.

I know you can get the
twinblades
early but that involves being bad :p

To be fair the cane at +6 with a SKL rune which puts scaling to A and 25 skill is quite good. Just getting jealous that everything I'm picking up is basically strength.

Each set is situational, there will be times you want a higher resist in certain stats and you'll switch out armor. The Yharnam Hunter set is a good general purpose set though.
 
BSB has been one shot, you cant fuck with my
steam powered wrist blade
motherfucker!

took 15 vials and 8 antidotes but fuck it. Boss seemed easy tbh, I actually made it hard on myself for using the weapon I did but I love that thing lol
 
Just lost ~220k souls because I fell from an elevator twice.

That weapon is awesome! Totally underrated. My next goal is to try out the spear rifle.

Most of the armor so far is very similar with slight differences in defence and resistances

I imagine that resistances are the main differentiator (which is actually quite important to pay attention too depending on what you are fighting)

Otherwise its all about fashionsouls man. Just wear what looks cool

I thought like this about the flasks at first, but then I realized something... Having items that don't refill at every checkpoint made me want to get better at not taking damage so I don't use so many items. I've actually become a better player because I wanted to avoid farming so much, and looking back on it I love it!
 
Can someone please help me out? I'm new to souls series and loving Bloodborne allot. So addictive. My question is about the chalice dungeons. How do I perform a holy chalice ritual or what do I need to do to try a chalice dungeon? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Physical defense isn't the only stat to worry bout when wearing armour. Some situations call for more bolt resistence or slow poison resistence. I think that if you encounter a certain area with a certain element being used by most enemies or even a boss - then you might find out that using a more appropriate armour set might serve you better than thr Yahrnam Hunter set.

so is BSB optional like Cleric Beast? I mean, its just a dead end and nothing seems to have happened... im not too sure how I feel about that trend in the game so far. I mean I know the games are all about giving you little direction...but a little direction doesnt hurt :p

you need ritual blood

The first one I found was in Old Yharnam. I do not for the life of me remember where I got the second one
 
It seems the doll has reverted back to her old sitting position. I can't speak with her, but I can still level up. Is this a bug, or is it supposed to happen? Maybe I'll never hear her pronounce 'strength' again. Oh no!

Happens from time to time. I believe its linked to how much insight you have. Or in this case lack.

Well..... There is a hunter that spawns where Father G was later in teh game and Eileen is fighting him. If Eilleen dies you get her badge and can buy he gear which includes the Dual blades. I have no idea how to get them when she lives

It's highly likely I just suck too much to get to that point where I actively turn the design into something positive. Instead I find myself just opting to walk around with low health and die, hording my vials since the punishment of death has been removed.
 
I'm trying to play without looking at too many hints on the ground but in doing so I'm afraid I'll miss the developer hints that expand on the lore...

no idea what to do after BSB so I bought the 10k key and im going to use it on that big ass gate I guess /shrug #soulsgames
